Ulasan Great Wall Inn

I booked to stay 2 nights at hotel since I had no idea how long I would need to climb the great wall. I also wanted to see the evening light show at the wall but when I check-in the lady for some reason told me if you wish to only stay 1 night and check out tomorrow, they will give me a refund. I didn't understand why she said that to me until later..... After check-in. I went to climb the great wall. On the way back the sky opened up and torrential rain came down. I was soaked through by the time I made it back to the hotel. The rain didn't stop. It continued through the night into the next day. Basically it rained non-stop for 24+ hours and the evening light show was cancelled. When I woke up next morning I realise there was no way I could go back and do the great wall again. The weather was just too miserable and there was nothing else to do there. I went and asked if I could change and leave early as she had said and she immediately agreed and issued refund, only charged me for 1 night. I think she knew the weather was going to be bad and I'd be wasting my time staying extra night hence told me when I check-in should I want to leave she's good with it. It was a lovely gesture which I much appreciate. The hotel itself is a lovely traditional Chinese style with a big courtyard in the centre. You can see the cable car for the great wall above. The hotel is literally 5mins from Badaling High Speed station and great wall cable car entrance. The room I stayed is big, spacious, clean and well maintained. However, due to the room being above the restaurant/kitchen there was always a lingering cooking, greasy, smelling odour about the room which was a bit unpleasant.

Excellent location, very close to Badaling Great Wall Station, just a few minutes' walk. It's right next to the cable car station and there are restaurants nearby. You can easily walk to the Great Wall. The price is affordable and offers great value for money. It's definitely my first choice for travel!

At 7 AM, my family and I were still asleep when the owner, without my permission, swiped a card and barged into my room with someone else, claiming they were looking for an item a previous guest had lost. I woke up, screamed at them, and they just left it at that. Seriously, what about customer safety? How can you even run a hotel like this? I didn't even call the police, which shows my restraint. This is the first time I've ever experienced something like this. From now on, I'm definitely deadbolting the door.

So close to the Great Wall, and super convenient for transportation. The front desk staff were warm and welcoming, I'd recommend it if you're not super particular about high-end amenities. It's a smooth journey if you're heading out early to hike the Great Wall and take the cable car.

I booked a special offer room. The hot water wasn't very strong, but it was clean, which was a plus. It's only about 100 meters from the cable car. During peak season, at 6:30 AM, we were among the first few cars to get on North 8, and the photos turned out amazing – absolutely no one in the background! We were back from the entrance by 8 AM. Overall, it's really good value for money, highly recommend.

The environment is elegant, the rooms are clean and tidy, and the service is warm and thoughtful.

Beautiful place inside the woods near to the great wall and the mountain

Great location, easy walkable access to Badaling Cable Car in the morning, and little wait time. There is a restaurant next to the inn for a very simple breakfast. They have a courtyard with a swing and outdoor seating where you can chill at night. There weren't that many lights, so it was a bit dark, though. Basically, I recommend staying here for a convenient location. Definitely a old hotel, so don't expect anything from the room. They provide basic amenities. Not the cleanest and room smelled like cigarettes, but it was fine for one night and the price.

Right next to the car park of the cable car service, walking distance from the train station. Not fancy, but cannot beat the location. No complaints at all, will stay again and highly recommend

Convenient location, very simple and basic room.

The hotel room was good—clean and comfortable. However, the restaurant below was overcrowded, and the food wasn't fresh. The taste wasn't great compared to other Chinese cuisine I've had.
