Nice 'vintage' style hotel in a central part of town opposite a calm park. The center is at walking distance and the hotel isn't exactly on the heart of the city.Very clean although a bit outdated and great staff with notable ”Tamara'' from the breakfast team. Only annoying thing is that last morning we were in ahurry to leave and the housekeeping was keeping the elevator so long we had to go down the stairs with our luggages.

I’d say this hotel fair-to-middling. It’s in a quiet side street, about a five minute walk from Republic Square. My room was clean although small. The staff were friendly but that’s where the positives end. My air conditioning was permanently set to 23 degrees and when I mentioned this to the chap on reception he informed me to ‘open the window’ Hmmmmm! There is also a private spa advertised on their website but this cost €50 to book. Extremely expensive! Breakfast was very poor and the eggs, bacon and sausages in the metal chafing dishes were all cold. A few good points but too many negatives!

My wife and I were excited to be among the earliest visitors to this stunningly renovated hotel. Hotel staff was extremely pleasant and welcoming. Unfortunately, our enthusiasm waned as we discovered that the hotel still has some way to go before we could confidently recommend it to others. Issues started cropping up shortly after check-in. Our key card for the room didn’t work, and took several trips back and forth before it was properly activated. In our room, the air conditioning was non-functional, with the temperature remaining at 26°C / 79°F. Despite bringing this to the attention of multiple staff members, the problem remained unresolved. After an uncomfortable first night of attempting to sleep in a warm room, the hotel offered to change our room. We undertook the task of relocating from the 5th floor to the 2nd floor, only to realize that the AC in the new room wasn't working either, with no solution from the staff. It left us wondering why the room wasn't checked for proper functioning before having us move. In the second room, we noticed peculiar marks on the sheets. Pulling them back, we encountered bugs crawling on the mattress, leaving us feeling repulsed. We checked out, providing the front desk with photos and details of the situation. They offered no support or refund, only an apology and said they’ll call an exterminator. Pros: * Very friendly staff, especially in the restaurant * Excellent inclusive breakfast * Upscale design elements Cons: * Presence of bugs/insects on the mattress (I won't speculate on the type) * Non functioning AC * Showers leak, leading to bathroom flooding * Automatic closet light turns off when opened and remains on when closed, causing light leakage into the room at night * Absence of top sheets on the bed

I’m really thankful with the staff at the reception. They were very helpful during my late check in, and also gave me good recommendations about where to eat and how to get to some places I was interested in visiting. My stay in Belgrade was very short but if I come back I’ll definitely stay in City Nest Modern & Cosy Suites.

The hotel is situated in a great place, easy walking distance to the centre with all the restaurants and bars. We came for West Ham’s game in Backa Topola - we hired a car at the airport. There’s no parking at the hotel as it’s in a pedestrianised area. We were advised to park in a car park round the corner which could be quite a walk if you had luggage. The hotel is in a building with many floors and is on the fifth floor. There is a lift but it’s very tiny. Otherwise it’s a long climb. Once up there the check in was very smooth - we were too early but they looked after our luggage. The room was adequate , nice and warm and clean. The shower was excellent. A good place to stay in Belgrade.

Let start with the positive a) the area is lovely, close to many points including the Danube (for a nice Saturday stroll) b) the entrance of the hostel is clean and inviting c) The ladies at reception couldn't have been more helpful d) the beds were comfortable The less positive: -The lounge/living area is small with a large white table which is occupied from morning till evening by Digital Nomads all talking loudly into their microphones, whilst tapping away loudly ontheir laptops -Yes, there is a garden - but if the weather is nice, the same noise levels + there is smoke from the smokers. If the weather is rainy when you are there, wihich is was for me, then you can hide in your room for peace and quiet or go outside in the rain. To conclude: the public areas are noisy and not welcoming at all. So, if you are going for one nights stay, then the Good People Hostel is more than fine, BUT if your are there for longer, please choose another place where you can sit and also think.

Cemerlang
PPengguna TetamuWhile the decor was modern and the cleanliness satisfactory, there were many aspects of the experience that fell short of expectations.
Firstly, the absence of appropriately sized cups for the coffee machine was a notable inconvenience. Despite providing coffee, the lack of corresponding cups rendered the machine unusable, which was disappointing.
Additionally, the bathroom amenities were subpar, resembling cheap, generic products found in supermarkets rather than the expected quality of hotel-grade toiletries.
However, what truly exacerbated our dissatisfaction was the poor service attitude demonstrated by the host. When we communicated our delayed arrival due to a flight delay, the host abruptly ended the call midway through our conversation, displaying a lack of professionalism and courtesy.
Furthermore, the inconsistency regarding the checkout time was deeply frustrating. Initially informed of a 2:00 PM checkout, we were later informed of a revised time of 12:20 PM, with the host confusing the pronunciation of ‘2’ and ‘12’. During our attempts to clarify this discrepancy, the host abruptly terminated the call, leaving my girlfriend and me feeling rushed and unduly pressured to vacate the premises.
Overall, while certain aspects of the accommodation were satisfactory, the overall experience was marred by inadequate amenities and unprofessional service.
PPengguna TetamuI had the best experience. Food is great, drinks, stuff is even better, especially guys at the bar. I would come back and recommend to anyone! Everything is perfect!! thank you for everything ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I would trust them with the recommendations for the food
PPengguna TetamuThe staff at the front desk are very helpful giving wonderful recommendations for restaurants and ever so accommodating of all our requests - printing and scanning documents, questions about where to go due to our special dietary needs etc. We appreciate them very much. There was one evening when one of the staff at the front desk failed us when he showed very little care for our well-being when we reported to him that the elevator was broken. He did not give us a good attitude and solution. We complained again and another staff came out to show us a side elevator to use - something he could have very easily and politely pointed us to. We complained about it and was promptly apologised to and even presented with a bottle to wine as an apology. The cleaning of the room was not up to standard and we thought they could do better in that department. Nonetheless, after we pointed it out to them, they immediately rectified and gave the room a good clean. I appreciate their spirit of improvement. Overall, we liked the room and hotel very much. The bed and pillows were comfy. The room was large. Toiletries were very nice. As friendly and accommodating as they are, we will definitely give them another chance and return for another stay.
Although the hotel was nice and really had a fancy or almost luxurious vibe to to it, there were things that quite not fit into that narrative. The rooms are decorated with British style wall paneling the ceilings are high and are also decorated. The bathroom has a big shower, mirror and a sink, but the door opens inside so that you barely fit past it to go use the toilet. The personnel is nice and friendly, but while it was raining, they didn´t have an umbrella to lend and the person in reception didn´t know about the salt sauna downstairs. There is a gym, although it is tiny, it is well equiped, but the A/C did not work. Breakfast is OK, as with every other Balkan country, very ”meati” breakfast! The location is perfect so overall you cannot complain too much, but the little things that separate my grade from ”Very good” to ”Average”could be improved :)
PPengguna TetamuReflecting on our experience at Joy5 Hotel & ”SPA” in Belgrade: Hotel Staff: We extend our commendation to the hotel staff for their consistent warmth and professionalism. Their practice of rising to greet guests upon entry is a testament to their hospitality. However, it's worth mentioning the logistical challenge posed by the 150-meter distance between the drop-off point and the hotel entrance, particularly with luggage in tow. While a golf cart service is available, its operational reliability remains inconsistent, occasionally necessitating a walk during inclement weather. Housekeeping Service: Our experience with the housekeeping service leaves room for improvement. For guests staying beyond a couple of days, the expectation of refreshed towels and bed linens is reasonable. Regrettably, this anticipation often requires proactive reminders, accompanied by a degree of reluctance from the staff. A more accommodating approach in this regard would be greatly appreciated. Accommodation and Facilities: Turning our attention to the accommodation, our reservation for a ”queen” room revealed an unconventional configuration involving twin-sized platforms and an additional top pad. The usage of a simple sheet as a bed cover resulted in nightly adjustments, and imperfections in the sheets themselves were observed. An attached photographic record is available for reference. The confines of the shower area present limitations, with water overflow being a noticeable concern. On a positive note, a surplus of aging towels is readily provided to address such situations. Locale and Surroundings: The hotel's location along the Danube contributes to a serene and tranquil atmosphere. Additionally, the convenience of proximity to a modestly-sized mall enhances the overall guest experience. The availability of fresh air further adds to the appeal of the surroundings. Overall Impression: In conclusion, our stay was marked by enjoyment and contentment. However, considering the tariff structure, it is reasonable to anticipate a slightly elevated level of service and quality. It is pertinent to note that our attempt to secure an upgrade was met with assurances that were not subsequently fulfilled. This situation, although mildly disappointing, did not significantly detract from our overall experience. Our assessment of the stay remains generally positive.
PPengguna TetamuI am so embarrassed that out of all the places I travelled to, this one happened to be in my own country. We were getting married on the week of our stay, namely Saturday and have made a booking in 2 parts - Wed, Thu small room they have, Sat-Mon, big luxurious one with the glass roof for our wedding. As far as the little room goes: It was horrible. I read some people complained but I didn't believe so we went ahead. The room is in a separate building two doors down. The building itself is in ruins and is having some construction done around. They have 4 rooms in the same corridor behind a locked door, one next to the other. So first thing, as of early morning and long into the night there is CONSTANT banging of doors as people go in and out. Further, room is musty as hell! Tiny window overlooks this shabby backyard and makes it dark and gloomy. Then comes the main part, it was filthy! I fell so bad not having taken the photos! Bin in the bathroom had the new bag in it, but underneath the bag was rubbish from the previous day. My partner put a towel over the glass barrier of the shower to dry and when he took it back, it was BLACK. In the toilet there was only an empty shell of the bowl cleaner and then the sink was all smudged EVERYWHERE. But we stuck with it as we knew on Saturday we would be checking into the nice one and it was convenient to just move stuff 2 doors than go somewhere else. Then the real horror started. We scraped some money to book a nice place to get ready for our wedding and spent our first wedding night. We chose this place as it looked so nice in the photos. It was NOT cheap, people don’t pay rent for a month in Belgrade in the amount they charged for 3 nights. Taken by the experience of the horrible room we stayed in, I told the receptionist we wanted to see the big room before we go in as we don’t want the same. They said ok and took us. On the way to the room the receptionist tells us “it is a little warm”. That weekend was extremely hot. We go up and the apartment is BOILING. The only AC they have is set on 17 degrees (none in the bedrooms) and it is still super hot. Mind you the place has a glass roof so it is like an aquarium. Then, it was NOT like in the pictures, there are chips and damages everywhere, and is not at all looking fabulous like in those pictures they put but more worn out. We asked for 5 minutes to think about and the guy let us and left. We sat there for 5 minutes SWEATING and looking around and thinking there is no way that I will be getting ready for my wedding, taking beautiful pictures and spending my first night as a married couple there. Plus the glass was opened into the yard and neighbors from the other floor could see straight in. We came down and said we will not stay. They said, ok, call Booking.com and let them know. They were more or less ok about it and we left, the day before our wedding, running around Belgrade looking for a place to stay. I called Booking and they said they would ask
NNevennaExceptional! If you want to be introduced to a true spirit of Belgrade, this building of historical significance with its glorious architecture will have you feel like you have been accommodated by a family. It’s so beautiful, the staff is very friendly and warm, they will assist you with anything you need and welcome you with great enthusiasm! The room is clean and comfortable, well equipped and with a lovely furniture that follows the spirit of the place. Location is amazing, just 20 minutes away from the city center. The garden within the object is lovely and a great place to hang out with your friends and family, get a good cup of coffee or a nice meal with a low price. Thank you so much for being such a perfect host and we will surely choose the same stay again when we come to Belgrade ☀️ ❤️
PPengguna TetamuWhere to start, when booking on booking.com it seemed ok. The reviews seemed OK and it looked like a lot of business people stayed there. However, when we checked in, the first room we got (Room 131 first floor) was just as bright at night when the lights were off as when the lights were on. This was due to the large light directly outside the window lighting the large sign on the side of the hotel. We went straight back to the reception to get the room changed as it was unacceptable. The receptionist changed the room but we had to have single beds, which was not the worst trade off. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. The second room on the 4th floor (Room 428) was better, only just. It was still effected by the light outside but not as bad and the curtains did enough of a job to cut it out slightly. There was three single beds in the room. The room wasn't exactly clean, but was tolerable as the sheets were clean. The pillows were uncomfortable. The bed was OK. There was a storage nook with no coat hangers but one hanger on the wall for your jackets. The walls were very dirty and had marks all over them. The toilet had a door with no handle on the inside, a broken frame on the inside so you couldn't close it fully as it jammed on the floor but you wouldn't want to shut it all the way as you couldn't reopen it due to no handle on the door. They said the room had been refurbished? The bathroom was a bit better, probably the best room in the apartment. The breakfast in the adjacent hotel was overpriced and not the best. I didn't like having to sit in the breakfast area with people smoking. I know its a European thing but we don't have that back in Australia were its banned from smoking in restaurants / eating areas. Pricing was OK but still found that it was to much for the low standard of the room. In doing further research when we got home, one of the reviews of the hotel was about the room with the light. Its in a good area with transport and close to the St Sava temple. I'd probably stay away from it if your looking for a place in Belgrade. It was the two rooms we got that put us off this hotel.
PPengguna TetamuHotel lobby gives good impression, but when you come to the room corridor you first see that it is a very old hotel that should be renovated years ago. In the rooms it's even worse, there is about 1cm crack between room door and jamb (no sound insulation). Everything in the room is old and beaten up, carpets are old and very dirty, so are the decorative blankets on the bed. There is AC unit in room (we haven't tried it though) Bathroom was not properly cleaned, shelf above sink was full of dust. Floor wasn't vacuumed. Room service doesn't make the beds. Blankets are not in bedding sets, only covered with sheets. Breakfast buffet was from 31th december to 2nd January exceptionally served between 8 and 11am (don't know the usual hours), which means that at 8am there was a huge line for breakfast. One day they opened up another room because there were no tables left in the first, the other day they did not. On top of that there is only one coffe making machine which works very slow and needs to be refilled very often. Only first time they set the table with placemat, after that they only superficially wipe the table. They do however try very hard, I think they were a bit understaffed because of holidays. Otherwise food selection was very good and always stocked. The staff at the reception was very kind and helpful.
