The Talbot Hotel

This hotel was an oasis for us. We were on a 40 day bicycling tour and it was a very rainy day. We rolled in soaking wet. The wonderful lady at reception didn't bat an eye at our condition and found some rags for us to clean up our tandem bicycle and our shoes. The bar provided us with a wonderful Bailey's coffee to ward off the chill. The room was very spacious, modern, and comfortable. Great bed, bedding, towels, and shower. We typically stayed at B&B's, but loved this hotel. We were able to walk to their bar and their dining room without stepping outside in the inclement weather. It was a perfect stay and we couldn't give a suggestion for improvement. Wonderful and efficient staff. We'll be back when in Ireland.

Everything was top notch at The Talbot. The decor is a bit eclectic, but that only adds to the charm The location is perfect, but where the Talbot really shines in in the personalized service. While everyone was great, I want to especially recognize Emma. She addressed our every request with a cheerful smile. We were doing a bit of genealogy research and Emma went above and beyond to connect us with locals who were able to help We will definitely return

Words can’t describe our stay in the Talbot hotel over the June Bank holiday weekend. The hospitality was second to none. All the team were so lovely us from beginning to end and small little kind gestures were so unexpected but made our stay so special. From the room to the food to the overall service I cannot speak highly enough of this hotel and we’re already talking about when we can go again.

Boutique hotel rather quirky. Staff were excellent. Breakfast and dinner was fine although dinner menu didn’t have a great selection. The room had some issues: the temperature control on the shower didn’t work and was scalding; the safe was a painful 5 inches above floor level; the retractable washing line was almost out of reach at 7 foot and 6 inches; the room and bathroom lighting was inadequate and you needed a torch to see in the wardrobe! We were lucky with on street parking but you could be faced with a long walk to/from your car. We did get moved to another room with a working shower.

A fantastic place to stay for a long weekend. Nice comfortable rooms, good breakfast options, hotel very well kept. Good atmosphere in the bar and the restaurant great selection. Staff all very friendly. Location ideal as in the middle of town.

Beautiful peaceful bedroom with all the comforts to make our stay perfect. Friendly helpful staff in reception and restaurant. Breakfast and dinner were delicious.We liked it so well we returned a few days later! The Talbot Hotel is perfectly located to experience the stunning beauty of NW Mayo.

We had a fantastic stay at the Talbot Hotel, Belmullet, the staff were excellent,professional and very friendly, the rooms amazing, excellent breakfast(freshly cooked) and wonderful dinners. We were 9 golfers playing at Carne as part of a very good hotel golf deal. Definitely coming back to our new friends at the Talbot Hotel. Daniel

Just sensational, we had a gorgeous meal I would recommend the chicken dry hot and spicy. Henry recommends the whiskey. Will 100% be back. We are also staying in the hotel and the rooms are lovely and clean. Thank you from all at DCI! The staff were very helpful and made sure we were all happy!

From the moment we checked in until the moment we checked out we were treated like Royalty ! This is a beautiful spotless clean hotel but its the wonderful staff who make it what it is. The rooms are spotless clean & have extremely comfortable beds & pillows, each room is designed differently, ample supplies of tea/coffee & toiletries, complementary bottles of water etc. The food ( breakfast & dinner ) was absolutely % delicious, plenty to choose from even for the fussiest of eaters, well don't to the chefs, kitchen staff & waiting staff. Our server on both days for breakfast was Mary, she really did look after us & although she was always busy she managed to make time to chat with us , her kindness did not go unnoticed. Also, we must mention Emma on reception, her bubbly personality mixed with knowledge of the local area and her attention to detail was top class, again she always made time to have a few words with us every time we passed by reception. The house keeper who looked after our two rooms #17 & # 2 was a lively friendly girl & hard working, im sorty i forget her name ( fair hair & glasses ) the rooms are a credit to her. Pat the night porter/bar man is well up on the lical history & is also very interested in genealogy, we enjoyed a chat with him late saturday night, a friendly chap too. I think in this day & age a lof of business's find it difficult to get good staff but I can honestly say the above staff are worth their weight in gold & I hope they are well looked after & appreciated. The success of this lovely hotel is without doubt down to wonderful staff . It's also located in town within walking distance to shops, restaurants, church, bars etc. The streets in Belmullet were litter free & all buildings were well painted regardless of age, a lit of businesses have pretty window flower boxes too. All in all, we will be returning to The Talbot Hotel again soon for another weekend break & we highly recommend it. Keep up the great work.
