For us, Thaala Bentota is one of the best, if not the best beach front hotel in Bentota, Sri Lanka. It is a family friendly hotel that we used to visit regularly from its inception. It was then known as the ‘Hotel Serendib’ . Our children loved it when they were little, especially the long sandy beach and the swimming pools. They are now grown up, blessed with children on their own. We are now retired grandparents; we find the hotel has not lost its old charm, so we still love visiting this hotel whenever we get an opportunity to spend few quiet days and peaceful nights and most importantly to recollect our precious golden memories for over 3 decades. Great beach hotel - made excellent by the quality of food, but more so by the outstanding quality, caring and customer attention of the Staff at the tuna thunders The beach and atmosphere are very glamorous and beautiful... The Food and beverage manager Mr Liyanage goes to each table and talks with guests to know whether they are happy. He was very professional and nicely taken care of us yesterday.. While we were talking to him only got to know that it was his Very first day at work... But he was very impressive.. By the way, we will definitely visit this place...the mud Crab curry and bread was our favorite and pizza very quality.... The executive Chef was very hospitable and talked with all the guests and he ensured everyone was happy...
