Hotel berhampiran Kranenburgh, Bergen

Op 16 en 17 februari ben ik samen met mijn vrouw hier 2 nachten geweest. Dit hotel heeft 4 sterren, mij een raadsel waar zij deze vandaan hebben. De kamer ( die van ons was in een gebouwtje aan de overzijde van het hoofdgebouw) was klein, slecht onderhouden, niet goed schoon gemaakt en gehorig. Er ligt een folder op de kamer over een soort kussengarantie en service met verschillende soorten kussens, maar als je daar om vraagt zegt het personnel ook niet te snappen wat deze folder op de kamers doet. Alle soorten kussen die zij hebben liggen al op het bed. Dit bed is trouwens aan de zachte kant, dus ik kom er met mijn rug de volgende ochtend redelijk stijfjes uit. Op de drankenkaart staan veel verschillende soorten bieren maar er zijn er maar 2 beschikbaar. Ook van het ontbijt moet je je niet al teveel voorstellen, het is wel een lopend buffet met een paar broden en broodjes, ei, spek 2 soorten kaas, 3 soorten vleesbeleg en wat kuipjes pindakaas en jam. Voor een kopje koffie moet je in de rij gaan staan en sta je vaak zeker 5 minuten te wachten eer je aan de beurt bent. Wel moet gezegd worden dat het personeel zeer vriendelijk, behulpzaam en begripvol is. Het personeel is wat mij betreft het enige dat voldoet aan het aantal sterren. Mijn vraag is: Wie geeft die sterren? Ik denk dat het zelfs voor 3 sterren al niet in de betere regionen kan meedraaien, laat staan 4 sterren. Het hoofdgebouw ziet er aan de buitenkant wel leuk uit maar het blijft een oud gebouw waar veel onderhoud aan moet gebeuren.

My husband, our daughter and I booked this hotel for 2 weeks. The location is great: close to railway station, bus station and city center. The staff is friendly. The cleaning up after breakfast or just having a drink and a snack is really slow. We had a drink, went out for dinner and two hours later, the glasses were still on the table how we left it. Table is right in front of the window. Bar service isn't really quick either. The bitterballen however are delucious: you have to try them, yummy!! The outdoor seating area also needs more attention regarding cleaning, also the footpath: cigarette buts etc. I can't understand why some people don't use the provided ashtrays. We enjoyed the room size and the bathroom! A suggestion to update the entrance, bar and breakfast area: get rid of allthe artificial, outdated vases with flowers and replace them either with living plants or fresh colorful flowers. l

First class in all areas. Friendly, helpful staff. Top rate for cleanliness. Excellent breakfast. Superbly situated to attend AZ match at Victorie Stadium. Location also very good for bus routes when required.

I went there for a night as I was attending a family event at the Castle. The castle is beautiful. The location is very good, the place is nice and quiet, surrounded by greenery. I was alone and I had a real single bed 😃. The rooms are a bit old fashioned but there’s everything in it with even a mini fridge and a safe. Everything was clean but unfortunately there was two strands of hair in the bathtub. The bed is very comfortable the pillow was bit hard. The breakfast is a buffet and is more than correct. The reception staff is really nice and helpful. They accepted to keep my luggage and there is someone available 24/7. Appart from the bathtub the hotel I enjoyed my stay.

We can immediately say that our stay was a wonderfully positive experience! Super room, very comfortable bed and a wonderful shower. And a team of very friendly people. On Friday evening we enjoyed the five-course menu with very tasty adapted wines. In short: we will definitely come back! Probably at a time when there is no fair, but ultimately that didn't affect our overall experience.

Amazing experience at the hotel, check in was so smooth and professional. Staff don’t need to help as everything is clean up to date or brand new! The building outside was chocolate box! And the surrounding town was as pretty as a fairy tale! What a wonderful experience.
