HOTEL AMBASSADOR BERN An ideal mix of good location, excellent staff & facilities We chose Hotel Ambassador primarily because it offered free parking service as we were travelling on rent-a-car and didn't have much idea about parking houses in Bern But the hotel turned out to be much better than our expectations. POSITIVES (+) The location is brilliant especially if you're new to the city. Close proximity to the tramp stop and ideally located in a neat, clean neighborhood. (+) I got a message from the hotel one day in advance summarizing all details of the stay and the city. Special thanks to Dominika Motykova who sent this message which really helped me book my free tramp tickets and get ready for the hotel stay (+) The staff and service are very good. Smooth check-in and check-out experience (+) I got a two bedroom option as we were a family of 2 adults and 2 children. This was really awesome as kids were independent and loving their own room (+) Views from the room especially with the barn and cattle side is breathtaking. Highly recommended to go for this view instead of city / old town view (+) Abel at the bar was very friendly and gentle during service hours in the evening. He chit chatted about our country, stay and gave advice on the tourist attractions. NEGATIVES (-) The hotel is slightly outdated in terms of infrastructure with old styled keys for opening doors, slightly old furniture & upholstery. The walls and carpeting inside the hotel is 90s styled. (-) The most painful aspect I experienced was the bed which was of poor quality with the mattress & pillows being really off. I was sleepless on both nights that I stayed here. (-) The pool is not heated and has limited space for people with only 4-5 beds and chairs (-) Access from basement parking to the main hotel is through a ringer which new comers may not know. No clear signage or messaging is written anywhere on how to go inside from the basement. I had to literally drag all the luggage by myself to the lobby for elevator access Overall, based on service / location / neighborhood, the place is Highly Recommended Rating: 8 / 10

Excellent hot breakfast with eggs sausage bacon and beans. Very convenient location to train station and old town. Quiet street at night. Friendly English speaking staff who happily chased down ice for our beverages

The location of the hotel is located about 3-4 tram stops from the Bern station. There weren’t many amenities located in the vicinity of the hotel and they are mainly found 1-2 tram stops away. The good thing is that the city provides hotel guests with free tram transportation so you should ask the front desk about it. The room size was decent but not very big. The air conditioning did not seem to work very well and we had to open the window in winter to cool down the room. However, the minibar was complimentary and they provided apple juice, still water, sparkling water and beer (2 bottles each). The experience was generally consistent with that of a 4 star hotel and the price.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. Coffee and tea is provided free to hotel guest all day which is a plus point to consider especially during the winter time.

From the Bern Central Train Station, walk up OR take the elevator to the pavement floor. Walk pass Burger King and you will arrive 5 minutes to the hotel. However, before you reach the hotel, there's a big supermarket COOP which is 2 minutes from the hotel. You can have your breakfast at COOP on the top floor which opened at 10am but the main selection will be 11am. The staff at the hotel were very helpful in giving information how and where to visit and which (FREE) buses or tram to take while in Bern. The city itself look nostalgic and scenic for photo taking. Many restaurants at the train station as well as Chinese restaurant too.

This was an amazing experience to visit Berna and stay at Muri Hotel, everything was just perfect and Isabel at the front desk was the nicest person ever, She was very friendly and willing to help in everything we could need. The location is perfect and the transportation very easy and free to get to the heart of the city. If I ever come back to Berna, I will definitely choose Muri Hotel again. Felt in love with Berna ♥️🇨🇭♥️

Visiting from Ireland so the FOC public transport with Bern welcome app was fantastic , extremely frequent 9A bus service right outside , that was the highlight of this hotel , but in fairness I’d was reasonably priced on a hotel booking site , we did not book breakfast at €26pp per day , but hopped on the bus to the co-op , highly recommend, cost under €30 per day for 3adults 1 child , Cleaners coming into the room at 22:30 and 8:30 while we were in bed was unwelcome though , carpets need replacing as they are all I can say is filthy and smell bad . Pillows are tiny but bed comfy . Staff are friendly and can speak English very well which was a huge bonus for which I’m grateful . Tea & coffee making facilities but no iron in the room . FYI check with your mobile provider how your plan works in Switzerland as I was charged €66 the minute I landed ( nothing to do with hotel , just a heads up !) Bern is beautiful, I was visiting family and won’t hesitate to use this hotel again ( just hope the carpets will be changed !€ , so convenient to get to .

very nice location but we were given a room that was crazy to reach and we had a lot of luggage. Take the lift from the reception, get out on second floor go to the connected building, take the lift, go down, get out and take the stairs. Everything about the hotel was great minus this ”find your room adventure” with my four bags :)

Good business hotel and good if you want to shop. Easy to find and park. Nicely decorated hotel. Good quality and really clean rooms. Front desk staff welcoming and friendly. Out of the city but I believe bern centre is only 12 mins by train. Would stay again for sure.
