The place is an older style “resort”/motel with dining room, pool and gym. Rooms are in a long two-storey building. Most rooms open to the grassed area which boasts a BBQ enclosed in a gazebo. Staff are friendly and helpful. Beds are comfortable. Rooms and bathrooms are clean and well-appointed. Good quality linen and towels etc. Tea and coffee making facilities provided. Microwave in kitchenette. During the day, it is possible to walk down to the beach and to the causeway between the main beach and Diamond Island. The causeway is accessible at low tide. Visitors should be extremely careful about crossing when it is not low tide. Our only criticism is that the resort (overly) promotes a penguin parade on-site when in fact, it has limited access to the main rookery in the evenings when the Little Penguins come ashore. To visit the rookery in the evening, tickets must be bought from the official government-run penguin tour. The resort staff do provide some information and a walk down to the fenceline near the rookery. But the resort pretends a little too much that the penguins walk through resort property. One or two or more may (or may not) traverse the bottom of the garden near the rookery fenceline. But some resort staff suggests play it up a bit too much.

We really enjoyed our stay at Apartments on Fraser. There is off-road parking with plenty of space. Access to our apartment was up stairs but they are easily managed. As well as a sitting room we had a lovely outdoor area with comfortable furniture and a small BBQ. A great spot for dining or just relaxing. The apartment was very well equipped including a washing machine and clothes airer. Bed linen and towels were good quality. A welcome letter was a nice touch and owner Karen popped in not long after we arrived to make sure we had all we needed and to offer advice on shops, things to do and places of interest. Highly reccommended

We were 4 couples coming from Victoria primarily for the Devil Of A Swim event. We booked the 3 units for 4 couples for 4 nights. We had a wonderful time. The location and the views are to die for.Every morning we would wake to a wonderful sunrise over the paddocks, Diamond Island and the ocean. We swam (coming from Victoria used to cold waters),walked to The Gulch and swam in Waubs Bay among other activities. A good 1 1/2 k walk or a 5 minutes drive from Bicheno township. Freycinet and Wineglass Bay walks a must as is having a drink and lunch at Devil's Corner and many other fine wineries in close proximity.Great cafes and coffees in town and don't miss The Farm Shed for all things local including wines. A great place to stay and explore all the east coast of Tasmania has to offer. Shane was incredibly helpful.The swims through the kelp gutters unforgettable. We will be back again for next years Devil Swim-if not sooner.

Thanks for a great 4 night stay. The room, location & views exceeded our expectations and it was extremely good value for the price. I would highly recommend Beachfront Bicheno for anyone staying on the East Coast - there is a lot to see and do in the area and Bicheno is a great base. Be mindful that many eateries close early. Don't miss the Lobster Shack & nearby Devil's Corner (even if you aren't a wine drinker the seafood is amazing). The Farm shed offers wine tasting & it's a short walk back to your room. The Penguin Parade is also a must do. We would stay at Beachfront Bicheno again in a heartbeat - recommend booking the sea view room. Very comfortable, great pillows, much quieter than we expected (it was super, super quiet), but easy to walk to most things, and a bottle shop on site! The heater in the bathroom was a nice touch. Overall - excellent value for money.

Stayed here for one night on a road trip up the east coast of Tasmania. The rooms are set in gardens rather than there being a central building and I stayed in room 11 behind the reception area. Parking is a bit tight on the site although there was a small space outside my room. I noticed a review suggesting that all the rooms are accessible - they are not, there were wooden steps up to mine and to several of the other rooms. If you want an accessible room I suggest requesting it at booking. My room was a reasonable size, there was a queen size bed, and it was well decorated but basic. There was also a small sofa and a table and two chairs. On the balcony was another table with two chairs. The winter sun does indeed shine into the rooms in the afternoon and my room was nice and warm. There was a walk in shower and a large sink. Everything appeared to be clean and there was plenty of hot water for my shower. In one corner of the bedroom was a cupboard and fridge, and inside the cupboard I found a kettle, toaster and various bits of cutlery and crockery which I was not expecting. So I could buy some breakfast things for the following morning and have breakfast at the motel. All in all a reasonable place to stay, however it is a bit far from the centre of Bicheco to walk back into the town to the bars and restaurants
