Lovely hostel in Coolangatta! Spacious clean rooms, no curtains so get a eye mask for a good sleep! Earbuds for free at the reception which is open 8-5pm. Activities all week, pool area was really nice. Industrial kitchen with a lot of utensils. Bring your own salt and peper lol nice staff. Beach and food (sushi, burgers, subway) 5min walk. You can rent bikes for $20 a day! Room photo taken at 5am lol

Good place to stay for a couple of nights. Three minutes to the beach. Good swimming pool. Clean rooms.

Friendly staff, clean kitchen and common areas. Beautiful atmosphere, perfect for socialising and for chilling out after a long day. Felt so good that extended my stay for a few more extra days:)

Stayed the re for one night only before my flight. It was a chill and relaxed hostel, very confortable. If you need some food or groceries, you have to walk a bit but not too far.

YHA Coolangatta is situated very close to the airport and makes for a very convenient single night stay location if you need to catch an early flight the next morning (My flight was at 6am, and the service staff were very accommodating to my need to check out by 4am). It is also only a 7min walk to the nearby beach and seaside cafes, so you wont have to worry about activities for the day if you were there. The rooms, while simple, were clean and well ventilated. The shared facilities were also clean and up to standard, and if you'd like to cook there is a shared kitchen facility as well. The only slight disadvantage is that the rooms have louvred windows, so noise from people watching videos in the room may travel out, or you might also hear people chatting outside your room if your room faces a common area.

Stay here if you need to catch an early morning flight. Otherwise it's located far from the center. It takes one hour by bus to the surfer paradise. The kitchen is large and well equipped. The room is okay. Toilets are clean.

Get what you paid for. Basic but does the job. Pool isn’t in use. Toilets are getting renovated.

I liked how there was a container for free food left over by other people so I didn’t have to buy my own salt or oil. I liked how the plug was in my locker so I could charge my phone near my bed. I also liked how the charging port had the usb plug-ins so I didn’t have to buy an adapter. The staff were nice. One girl at reception let me borrow her personal phone to call the surf instructor I was trying to book with. I like the space and the atmosphere.

Stayed here overnight to catch early morning flight out of Coolangatta airport. 10 mins walk to airport. Not much choice in terms of eating out, brought own food to cook for breakfast

Close proximity to the airport for early morning flights. Great for back packers, but not so much for families and other forms of travellers.
