The place is not too far from the airport (15-20min) and is in a bit of a safe, isolated part of Johannesburg. If you have a car or rent one, then life will be much easier as it is a bit far from city centers. There are places within 20 minutes within walking distance. If you are a walker, you don't *need* a car. Taxis like Uber and bolt don't seem to like coming out here, but the reception can call you a trusty private car.
The whole place is quite clean and the staff are very friendly. They are willing to help with anything I've asked. ould recommend to others!

I recently stayed at this hotel which left me disappointed due to their shuttle service limitations. While the overall experience was average, the lack of a 24-hour shuttle service proved to be a significant inconvenience, particularly for early morning flights.
One of the key reasons I chose this hotel was because of its location and a shuttle service to the airport. However, upon checking in, I was informed that the shuttle operated only from 7 am onwards. This was highly inconvenient as my flight departure time was earlier. I approached the receptionist to inquire about alternative options, hoping for some flexibility or assistance, but was met with an unhelpful suggestion to order an Uber instead.
Having previously stayed at other hotels near airports, I had come to expect a 24-hour shuttle service as the norm. It was disappointing to find that this particular hotel did not offer the same level of convenience. Given the additional cost associated with using ride-hailing services like Uber, this unforeseen expense was an unwelcome surprise.
In conclusion, if you have early morning flights or rely on a reliable 24-hour shuttle service, I would caution against choosing this particular hotel. I would recommend exploring other nearby options that prioritize customer convenience and provide a more accommodating shuttle service.

OK, so let's start with the 'not-so-nice stuff'. Look, it is what it is. It's a 3-star (at best), hotel that was converted from apartments into a 'suite' experience hotel. It's cheap as chips, so with that in mind you're obviously not going to expect anything flash. The towels, while clean, could certainly do with being replaced. Overall, a fresh coat of paint would not hurt and the kettle was abysmal - we actually ordered our own kettle from 60/60 - the one in the room had not been descaled in...well, ever. It's very basic accommodation, the telephone in the room didn't work and the extractor above the stove was diabolical. Now, for the good stuff. The staff are AMAZING. So friendly and super helpful, check-in was breezy and even though we arrived a full 2 hours early, we hardly had to wait for our room to be ready. Aside from what I already mentioned, the room itself was SPOTLESS and that made up for the 'niggly' bits. The location is great, just a few minutes from the airport and close to the areas we had business in. Honestly, for what one pays for this place, there are no complaints. You can order from 60/60/ Uber Eats/Mr Delivery and there is a restaurant on site - although we didn't order from them, we left early and came back fairly late so it was just simpler to order in - and they delivered to the room. So all in, if you're not in Jozi for a holiday, then this place is kind of ideal. Internet was fast enough and complimentary and as we literally only used it as a base for our dealings in the big city, it was more than adequate.

FANTASTIC experience right from the moment I checked in. The hosts are super friendly and helpful, and even drove me to a shop nearby when I needed a SIM card.
The property itself is PERFECT if you need a few days to relax and unwind after a stressful series of flights! The garden is lovingly manicured and even has a pool, which was a nice surprise.
They also have a FREE shuttle service from and to the airport as long as you let them know when you need it. The hotel is only 5 minutes drive from O.R. Tambo airport too, so don't get scammed (like I did) by the airport taxis (they charged me 250 rand for a 5 minute drive!).
The hotel has its own kitchen and menu and will deliver meals to your door, and they also have a small shop with toiletries, etc. which came in handy. WiFi is good too, even for video (definitely better than the airport's!😅).
So, next time you're heading to Johannesburg, definitely book Emerald Hotel. Now I just wish I had booked 5 days instead of one! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I am a youth leader taking a group to Port Elizabeth. Because of the way our flights worked out we had to spend the night in Johannesburg. I emailed 4 different hotels and Premiere Hotel was the only one to get back to me in a timely fashion. They were extremely helpful and responsive. Mercy was great to work with. They also arraigned transportation for all 34 of us from the airport to the hotel and once at the hotel we all ate in their restaurant and the food was wonderful. Pete, the restaurant manager, was extremely helpful. Overall Premiere hotel took what was the most stressful part of our trip and executed it wonderfully. The rooms were spacious and well appointed. The overall amenities of the hotel were absolutely wonderful. The management of this hotel should be proud. 10/10 I cannot recommend them enough.

I spent 8 nights here on a business trip. The perfect hotel for me located in a cul de sac in a very quiet and green part of Johannesburg next to the Bruma lake park. The rooms were clean, spacious and equipped with a mini kitchen. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. A bonus for me was that the lay out of the hotel allowed me to safely make a circuit of 400 meters enabling me to walk 4 Km every morning. The location is also close to the Eastgate mall and 15 minutes from the international airport. I would recommend this little gem to anyone looking for a comfortable safe stay in Johannesburg.

PPengguna TetamuI stayed I the holiday inn Johannesburg for about 5 weeks for business, the rooms were comfortable and quiet considering the amount of air traffic overhead , the rooms were clean and well kept , the staff were great , and breakfast was varied and good selection , the hotel is kept secure by the gate staff . Special thanks to the bar staff who tried their best to keep the bar stocked for 8 people sitting drinking by the pool most days ( Linda and William can’t remember the other names ) but they all done a great job Would certainly return again on next visit well done guys and girls

PPengguna TetamuDuring our recent visit to Gauteng we stayed at the Silverbirch @ Birchwood hotel after landing at the O.R. Tambo International Airport. This hotel is really convenient as it is close to the airport and easy to find. We stayed in one of the Standard Rooms which was spacious and comfortable. The property is quite large - it almost felt like a little village - with various room options, restaurants/cafes and even a conference venue available. During our stay we only went for breakfast (buffet style) at the Petit Centre which was very tasty. However we did explore a bit and came across one of the other restaurants where they normally do dinners. It was beautiful with a thatch roof, water features and even a boma (firepit). Silverbirch also has a well equipped gym and swimming pool (not very large, but large enough) available and their huge garden is a beautiful place where you can relax a bit after a busy day. Our stay was very comfortable and the staff were very friendly, so I can highly recommend you give them a try, especially if you are looking for a hotel close to the airport.

BBig ChrisThe place is not too far from the airport (15-20min) and is in a bit of a safe, isolated part of Johannesburg. If you have a car or rent one, then life will be much easier as it is a bit far from city centers. There are places within 20 minutes within walking distance. If you are a walker, you don't *need* a car. Taxis like Uber and bolt don't seem to like coming out here, but the reception can call you a trusty private car.
The whole place is quite clean and the staff are very friendly. They are willing to help with anything I've asked. ould recommend to others!
