Hotel berhampiran Port de Plaisance de Bonifacio, Bonifacio

Arrived by ferry from Santa Teresa Gallura and were easily able to wheel our suitcases along the flat path to this brilliantly positioned Best Western Roy D’Aragon. We were a little early for check in but were able to log into their wifi and make calls home to family in Australia (timing important due to time difference) while we waited. Fortunately our top floor port and Citadel facing balcony room was ready well before 4pm checkin time. Receptionist was most pleasant and made sure to get us in our beautiful room as soon as possible. The bed was comfortable but room itself very compact. Not a huge problem as we only stayed 2 nights. However the balcony added to the feel of the space and we made sure to make the most of the superb view by sitting out there as often as possible. We enjoyed our breakfast on balcony with excellent coffee from Hotel’s barista and fresh baguette and pastries from nearby bakery. We also bought provisions for a dinner with that view - quiches and wine from nearby supermarket. It truly is the best view in beautiful Bonifacio - morning, sunset and after dark - when the buildings and restaurants are all lit up. Magical. Absolutely loved this hotel and town. Make sure to walk up to top of castle/citadel for incredible views of Bonifacio and the pristine sea and rocks to other side. There’s also a whole other village up there! Loved our stay at this great hotel but make sure to book the port and citadel facing room with balcony if possible. Well worth it!

Wonderful location, welcoming staff that were very concerned about us enjoying our stay. Priced reasonably. Decorated in a beautiful, unique and artsy way. Breakfast was a nice buffet of coffee options, juices, meats and cheeses, breads, pastries and baked goods, eggs, fruits, yogurts, etc. Views were fantastic - amazing and probably the best of any hotel in town. I cannot imagine staying anywhere with a better view here. Easy to walk in and out of old town. About 20 min walk down to the harbor happenings. Free and spacious parking is another big benefit here. My recommendations for improvement would be to provide some basic toiletries beyond soap and to invest in a real mini-refrigerator (not one that can only hold 1-2 bottles of water). Without a restaurant at the hotel for lunch or dinner, it would be nice to keep some snacks and drinks chilled for a balcony or sea view terrace picnic. The AC in our room also blew towards the bathroom and away from the bed so the evenings were quite warm when trying to sleep. They provided a free baby cot which was a huge help as well. Overall, we would absolutely recommend this place to anyone. It’s a unique gem and I cannot imagine anywhere else we would rather stay. It’s obvious they care about the client experience.

Nous avons séjourné une nuit mon mari et moi dans une grand chambre très bien décorée possédant la Clim, une télé, un réfrigérateur, une grande douche avec tout le nécessaire à toilette + une autre nuit avec nos enfants dans une belle villa de 6 personnes, nous avons pris les petits déjeuners sur place ainsi que les repas du midi qui étaient excellents, la carte est variée, les prix sont abordables, l’équipe du restaurant est très sympathique et avenante à l’écoute des clients ainsi que le monsieur à l’accueil qui est très dynamique, et très serviable, ce village dispose de plusieurs belles piscines et d’un jacuzzi, d’un grand parking gratuit, et est situé à deux pas d’une plage. Je recommande vivement cette adresse.

A boutique hotel with great service and everything works! We were nervous about booking here as we have had so many disappointing “ boutique “ hotel stays. It’s very new and in immaculate condition in a truly unique setting. Really cant recommend enough. Only negative is the taxi drivers charge you 50 euros each way to get into Bonifacio.
