No need for taxi just walk along the main road for sightseeing. Close to convenient public transportation. Staff are very friendly and helpful. They have lots of information about activities to do. Breakfast is wonderful and tasty! I recommend to any one visiting Bordeaux. I will return!

First time in Bordeaux, we booked a nice room here. Honestly, we're lucky enough that we're used to staying in top hotels, and this place blew us away. I'd go back to Bordeaux just to stay here again. The term ”boutique hotel” is so over-used these days, but Villas Foch is truly a boutique hotel. It's small, independently operated. In a nice quiet residential area. The service was off the charts. Everyone was so friendly and helpful to us. The hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous inside. I have no idea who the designer was, but huge kudos to them. The rooms are gorgeous, common areas are gorgeous. Breakfast was great. The bar here is great. Room was super comfy, bed was comfy, AC was great. The staff could not have been better. Like everyone went out of their way to make sure we were having a good time. Really, I can't recommend this hotel highly enough. Huge thank you to the staff here, we had a wonderful stay.

My experience at this hotel was exceptional. The staff is highly trained, incredibly helpful, and kind. The team at the Madame B restaurant and bar is truly outstanding, and the reception staff are all very accommodating. The room I stayed in was generously spacious, impeccably clean, and featured a wonderfully cozy bed, creating a luxurious atmosphere that made me feel right at home. If you're visiting Bordeaux, I highly recommend giving them a try – it's a very elegant hotel. Supernice and supergood hotel, marvelous room and central downtown location. Normally i book rooms in the 100-150E range. I decided to go a bit more luxurious and i tremendously enjoyed it. Im an easy going traveler, i was i Bordeaux to assess architecture and urbanism projects. I rented a bike to go around the city. The hotel staff is very naturel an friendly, no rush to empty your wallet but rather making sure you have a great time... Best hotel experience i had i a lon time travelling the globe. Wholeheartedly recommended!! Bordeaux is the best French City!

Stayed here for the Gloucester vs Bordeaux rugby match. A solid base for exploring Bordeaux, it is in Meriadeck which is not right in the centre of Bordeaux but the hotel offers a chance to escape the hustle and bustle of the old town. Hotel staff were very welcoming and friendly. Although not the most luxurious of settings the Bar had a very good selection of beers and did offer basic food, although we did not try. The hotel itself is set inside a not so modern building but the rooms were all recently renovated and had modern air con and new TVs. Unfortunately the lifts were broken during the stay but the staff did their best to try and appease and opened up the service lifts. Breakfast was a little chaotic, particularly around the hot food section but this may have been down to the number of people in the restaurant at the time. Would stay again.

We were greeted with a friendly welcome and drink at bar while we waited for the room. Got to our room and we were very impressed with both the size of the room and the big comfortable bed.  The walk in shower was fantastic and it was great to have the toilet in a room on its own. The maid service was also superb. We were never bothered by knocks on the door and after going for lunch etc, we came back and the room was done. Perfect. Unfortunately though, music was played all day - sometimes from 8:30 in the morning. This was pretty disturbing when you just want a bit of peace. One day we’d not had breakfast, so around midday, we thought we’d have a bite to eat in the outside garden. We wanted just something light like a baguette etc but this was not available and the options were expensive and distinctly underwhelming - bunging a few flowers and a couple of strawberries on a heap of average quality jambon doesn’t pull the wool over anyone’s eyes. We decided to have a night cap in the bar one evening. It was an “interesting” experience. The din of the Reggaeton music assault, was interspersed by glasses and all kinds being slammed around and a general atmosphere of malcontent from the clearly fed up staff. I have bad days too, guys, but my valued clients would never be able to tell. When we checked out on Friday midday, the attitude of the woman on reception was pretty frosty too. No smile dispensed here. In fact when she made a mistake and asked my wife for 800 euros for the room, which was already paid for, no hint of a “my mistake, sorry”. This stay could have been so much better. Examples: A more consistent attitude from the staff. A simple lunch/snack menu. Maybe not play music that’s audible all day in all parts of the hotel. I am unable to give it more than 3 stars as there are a lot of improvements that are needed.

It is not far from the station but if you already got a ticket can hop on the bus as a bus stop is very close. Staff is very nice as we checked in afterva check in time, she was still waiting for us. Room and facilities also in a good condition.

We arrived in France for a month of travel, beginning with a long weekend in Bordeaux to recover from jet lag and get our bearings. We chose the Hotel Cardinal for its central location right across from the Cathedral and tram stops. It made it very easy to get around the city. Our accommodations were actually a suite of rooms. In addition to the bed and bathrooms, there is a roomy and comfortable sitting room and kitchenette, where we chose to take our breakfast one morning. (It is a treat and highly recommended if your schedule permits.) We were very comfortable and would stay here again if travel ever takes us back to Bordeaux.
