El punto fuerte de este hotel es la ubicación , la atención del personal y lo silencioso que es . El punto débil es el desayuno que incluye, una sugerencia para mejorar es poner microondas para calentar la leche cuando no quieres utilizar las máquinas de café , y quizá algún cacao que no sea el que viene en la máquina . Fruta escasa y zumos no naturales.

I will start with the location of the hotel is very central and well located for shopping and cafes. The suites themselves are very average for the price. You are paying premium prices to stay at Hotel Cardinal, and the facilities aren’t representative of the price paid. The prestige suite smelt like sewage our entire stay, I notified the hotel staff of this three times in our 5 night stay and their solution was to open the windows and spray perfume. It was the start of July and hot you need to be able to shut the windows and utilise the airconditioning without being suffocated by the smell of sewage. As per the booking we also booked for a double sofa bed in the living area, we were provided with a single camp bed. Relatives also stayed in one of the downstairs suites and like many previous reviews said the sofa bed was awful and very uncomfortable. I can see managements response is this hasn’t happened before in other reviews otherwise it would have been addressed. But it clearly has as the complaints remain the same. You will get much better value in a similar location at an air bnb. All in all a very disappointing stay. The suites are also not functional; two bathrooms and one toilet. The staff are pleasant but no solution was provided when I notified them of the awful smell. And from previous reviews this is nothing new. When contacting them post our visit to see what could be done a return stay was offered as compensation which was a nice gesture but we won’t be returning to Bordeaux and often people travel to a place to experience it once. I wouldn’t recommend staying here for the functionality and the facilities, it is a lot of money and not reflective of the price. The staff were pleasant.

After cycling for 3 months across France FirstName was an absolute pleasure to spend our last days recovering and as a base to see the city. Our room was spectacular, the bed was an absolute delight to sleep in and the bathroom and wardrobe storage were magnificent. The heated mirrors in the bathroom were a real touch of class that we welcomed. Breakfast and dinners were top-notch, we just loved everything the hotel had to offer. Check-in staff worked well above any expectations we may have had. They helped us when we had bicycle transport issues and when I cut my finger they worked tirelessly with arranging for the correct hospital and transport. They all communicated with each other and the various shifts seamlessly. The staff in the restaurant area along with the chef were also outstanding and super helpful.

Wonderful stay - the place has funky feel - everyone was so friendly and helpful. Location is great and the rooftop bar and restaurant was perfect and so welcome after a long day sightseeing to come back and have a drink before retiring. Would definitely go back.

A very pleasant place to stay for 3 adults in a very convenient location for pedestrian access to the city, with a tram very near the hotel for simple access to the airport. Staff were very helpful and the room was pleasant; the fridge and dishwasher were very useful during our stay. The sheets covering the single sofabed could be improved upon but this did not detract significantly from our stay. Would recommend and would certainly stay again.

Spent a few days recently in Hotel Gambetta , Found it to be a basic hotel but also cosy and friendly. Nice breakfast and pleasant friendly helpful staff . It's very well located and central , very easy to navigate the old town on foot , Tram stop just around the corner if needed , we walked everywhere and loved Bordeaux , can't wait to go back again . Only grip was our room was front of hotel , on a busy street which was noisy at night and was woken from sleep a few times. Having said that I would stay there again and can't wait to book it again soon.
