Not a clean room at all. Suspicious brown dirty streaks all around the bathroom, chips out of the furniture and random paint marks up and down the walls. I’ve stayed at better Premier Inns.

Ultimate holiday destination at Dorset, SW England, with sun, beach, sea and pool (and lots of bubbles), friendly staff, vacation mood and good nibbles. Always busy always happening :)

We visited for a family diamond wedding anniversary. The rooms were clean and spacious. The reception area smelt lovely! The reception staff were extremely helpful and polite and leaving a little gift for my in-laws for their anniversary in the room was also a lovely touch!. Breakfast was a little difficult due to extremely limited gluten free options but I managed. I was advised to scan a QR code but it didn’t give you a breakdown for each item just an overview . Would have expected maybe allergens on the signs for the food in the buffet. We stopped in the back of the hotel which had a long corridor with three small stair cases which was awkward for my elderly mother in law. Advice for future travellers contact the hotel in advance if travelling with people who are uneasy on their feet so you can request a room without these staircases. I think an addition of a handrail for each staircase would be a great benefit. The bar staff are excellent and very chatty and friendly, Wonderful views and overall great facilities!

The hotel is amazing, it's very well located and is convenient to get to most of the local attractions in the city.

Probably the worst hotel I had ever stayed at during 50+ years of my worldwide travel, both on business and private trips. Apart from the location everything else was terrible. The rooms provided did not bear any similarity to the rooms shown on the TRIP.COM website. There was no shower curtain, towel rail was not connected to any hot water source, no instructions for shower settings, no telephone - my rooms were at the far end of the hotel, to get to the lift one has to negotiate a steep flight of steps (difficult with luggage and children, no porter service available, car parking at an extortionate amount of £25 per day, rooms not cleaned during our stay, noisy toilet cistern, chipped bath tub surface in places, inadequate first-aid box (no plasters or antiseptic cream or pads - required when my 5 year old grandson fell in the lawn area of the hotel. One chair in the room was wobbly and unsafe to sit on. More like a 1.5* than the 4* rating on your website. Floors on the way to the lift were creaky making annoying noises I need to make a complaint that I was sold rooms that did not match with what was shown on the website, which is what I used to make the purchase Did not try any food in the hotel, as not many people were seen in the restaurant at anytime, which is bad sign

A very easy stay at Durley Dean, myself, my three daughters and the two dogs all shared a family room. The family room had a very comfortable double bed and a set of bunk bed.

We had a 3 night stay here, during some refurbishment of the reception area, this did not impact on our stay, and when we left the area was looking good. We stayed in the Lily suite a lovely choice which looks newly decorated and fitted out to a very high standard, we both particularly liked the bathroom and star lights! We used all of the hotels facilities treating ourselves both to a hot stone massage which was delightful and relaxing. A nice pool with sauna and steam room. We ate in the brasserie on our first night, the food was top class it surprised us that throughout our stay that only a few guests choose to eat here. We had the catch of the day and it was lucky for me that it was Skate a particular favourite the good food was matched by the service, the only thing that did let it down was the state of the table which looked grubby and needs replacing as does many of the wooden tables. Breakfast was buffet style plenty of choice and again very good. The staff throughout the hotel were very good and special mention to the barman who was very friendly and attentive during our stay. Reception could be more welcoming and friendly especially when you are the initial point of contact during your stay and early impressions count. Overall a lovely break and The Connaught is a hotel that I would highly recommend and return to.

We were at this property during the Easter Bank Holiday weekend. The hotel is close to the Bournemouth Town Centre. I cannot say that this is walkable to the Beach. It takes a good 5 mins drive to the beach from the hotel. The Good things The reception team is fab especially Mikolaj. When we arrived the room was not ready as we arrived an hour early. He offered us free drinks while we waited for the check-in. The breakfast was good. They serve the hot breakfast on small plates rather than letting the guests make the mess. I liked this concept. And of course, you can order omelette or French toast which the cook happily makes for you. The onsite parking is small and cramp- try basement The worst part This is a pretty standard no frills hotel. It didn’t feel like a mid-range property either. The worst part is the dinner- Both the food as well as the staff. The food felt like heated from frozen- pretty bland. And I would not rather comment on the staff including the manager. I found it amazing how rude a person can be while working in an hospitality industry- the lady with grey hair (I don’t want to name and shame in the public forum. I was equally disappointed the way the matter was handled by the person who introduced himself as the manager.

My husband and I spent a night here and separately booked a massage. Positives - Staff were nice -Bed was comfortable -About a 10/15 min walk to Bournemouth seafront -Both of us enjoyed our massages -They did the swan towel origami thingy for us as it was our wedding anniversary. My husband asked them to and it was sweet -The bedroom shower was super powerful Negatives -The spa is the worst I've been to. I have better facilities at my local gym -It's underground and is dark, dingy and really echoey. You can hear the water jets from the jacuzzi really loud -We gave the pool a miss, the water looked horrible and murky -They don't provide slippers so people were just wearing sandals and outdoor shoes so the floors were muddy and dirty -The aromatherapy cave didn't smell of anything. It was just a small room -The Sauna was tiny. Once 2 more people joined us it felt a bit cramped so we got out -The ladies changing rooms are shoddy. There's one shower. The lady in it was complaining to her friend that the shower head is split and it wasn't good. We went to our room to shower -There's just no ambiance. There was no music playing when we were waiting for our massage in the waiting area and it felt like I was at a doctors surgery -They give water in these tiny little paper shot glasses so if you want a good drink you have to keep filling it -The relaxation room was so poor. I've never been to one that didn't have refreshments. It didn't even have nice comfy beds. They were just a bunch of rickety sun loungers -Our massages were good but I think the masseuses were agency. We both got a full body and my husband got a head massage with his and I didn't. My bed was also rocking to one side which was a bit annoying -The upstairs pool is a bit better, nothing wow but after sitting in both the aromatherapy cave and sauna for 10 minutes we just left to spend time in there instead. It was nice and quiet -You have to pay to use the spa facilities even if you've booked the hotel. It was £15 each but luckily we didn't have to pay (I think there was some misunderstanding). I wouldn't have used it even if it was free so I'm glad we didn't pay for it -You have to pay for robes -You have to pay for hotel parking which is £15. We found plenty of parking outside. Don't bother paying for it -The bedroom en suite is outdated -The whole place needs a good revamp -Absolutely nowhere near a 4*. If I'd known the spa was so awful I'd have stayed in a Premier inn That's all! I'm not one of those people who moan about everything but as someone who likes a good spa, it was truly poor!

Had a lovely stay for 5 nights,everything clean and friendly staff,room refreshed every day with towels toiletries and tea,coffee.No problems at all.went out forbus journeys most days so didnt eat at hotel.Used indoor pool 4days so realky enjoyed our stay.
