Poor cleanliness and a terrible matress with broken springs.

A step back in time to the 1970’s the decor is unbelievably dated for example dark brown walls, dark green scratchy carpets, moth eaten curtains. Poor lighting throughout the hotel and insufficient charging sockets and electrical plugs.

The room they gave us resembled a nuns cell, crab and bare. There was mould around the filthy windows and the plaster was cracked around the frames. The carpet was covered in stains as were the bases of the two single beds. The only chair was so rickety I was afraid to sit in it. We asked to be moved, we waited 30 minutes for another room that was marginally better. The walls were scuffed and chipped, the tables were loose from the walls, the chair was still rickety. The chairs on the balcony were engrained with filthy. The shower over the bath had no bottom seal so the bathroom flooded. There was one thin lumpy pillow each, no water or glasses. We didn't get an apology or an offer to move our luggage, just a shrug of the shoulders! Outside was even worse. The pool was dirty with broken paving all around. No one was swimming in it. The tennis court was awful, broken surface, cracked and dirty. The pictures of this hotel are definitely photo shopped as it looks nothing like them, it is grab, dark and miserable. Breakfast was passable. The best thing about this awful hotel is driving away from it! It is barely a 1* no way a 4* and the owners should be ashamed to list it as such.

I actually have no words for what I experienced here. A 4 Star Hotel, Spa and Health Hotel suppose to be one of the best hotels in Braga in this. I usually do write positive reviews but this was simply shocking and disgraceful.

We had a wonderful relaxing stay at the Golden Tulip. Joao and Marie and the two Victors made our stay very memorable. The staff was super accommodating and helpful for all their recommendations. The hotel was originally a Franciscan Convent, which is very unique. The hotel has huge potential… there are things that definitely need some updating and renovations, but we enjoyed our stay and slept very well. We had delicious breakfast and dinners there also. Thanks for a great getaway!

A large hotel conveniently located but clearly has seen better days. Our room had stained carpets and generally looked very tired. The tennis court had so much moss it would be dangerous. Planters beneath our balcony was full of cigarette ends. Would not return

We were a party of twelve and booked six rooms for one night as we flew from UK to Portugal for a funeral. On arrival found reception staff to be rude and not welcoming or helpful. Completely ignored and they were only concerned to take our passport details and payment in advance. The rooms were basic with only sheets on the bed, no blankets. Carpets to rooms were stained and all rooms were dated and had an unclean smell. View from some of the rooms were on to an abandoned tennis court or on to a filthy outdoor swimming pool. TV remote did not work, when complained to reception I was told to find a switch at the back of the tv to switch on and then I could use the remote to change channels. Bathroom floor was sticky and killed two flees crawling on my leg. This hotel is rated as a 4**** but it does not even deserve 1*. Please avoid at all costs, the worst hotel I have ever experienced.
