I needed to be in Brantford for a couple of nights and opted to stay at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Brantford because I always opt for IHG Hotels when I can. Plus, Brantford has very few options for lodging. I arrived later in the evening and check-in was a breeze. I booked a double queen room. Room 612 is located by the elevator, so if noise is an issue for you, I’d request a different room. As I am partially hearing impaired, the noise from the vent directly across the hall was more like a white noise for me. I imagine it might be louder for others. Key cards worked without issue. Room was clean and tidy. Bathroom has a nice mirror with lighting which was great for makeup application. Aside from the bar of soap that dried out your hands like most hotels, the products available in the bathroom (shampoo, conditioner, body wash) was good quality. I didn’t even have to use my own because I liked the brand and scent. The bathroom had a tub/shower combo. Tub isn’t that big, so if you like baths, you may not like it so much. Shower was great. I like taking showers hotter than the fires if Hades, so I was happy with the water pressure and consistent temperature. The beds were super comfortable. Pillows were perfectly firm. Beddings were soft and adequate. Mattress was perfectly firm as well. I didn’t try out the sofa, but it looked clean and I’m sure it is comfortable to sit on. The room also had a safe that I was unable to open because it was left closed and locked. The room has a standard mini fridge, microwave and Keurig. Reaching Front Desk for extra tissues and coffee cups was a little of a challenge. This was probably due to being short staffed. If you need anything, you’re better off just going downstairs and asking in person instead of calling. I do with Front Desk communicated late checkouts better with Housekeeping because I had a late checkout and Housekeeping came to knock on my door 4 different times. They were super nice and explained that they don’t get notified about late checkouts. No fault of theirs. These people do a great job and hard work to ensure you have a comfortable stay, so don’t rip their heads off when they knock to check if you’re still there if you’re checking out late. It may be annoying, but they’re just doing their jobs. Overall, this was a great stay and staff were wonderful. I hope to never have to stay in Brantford again, but if I do, I’ll definitely check in here.

We recently stayed at the Home2 Suites by Hilton Brantford for five days during a recent visit to the Ontario area. The hotel is a new-ish complex off the highways with convenient access and a fast food complex (Tims, Wendys, KFC, Taco Bell, Indian) within walking distance. The design of the property is to incorporate a few more kitchen-style amenities into a larger room ideal for longer stays (think basement suite but in a hotel). The hotel has a pool with excellent access times (no hot tub), and it also has a fitness center accessible 24/7 along with several meeting rooms for events. Front desk staff (all of them) during check in, extending stay and overall assistance were great. For some reason, one of our key cards deactivated a few times over the course of our stay, which was quickly resolved in both cases. The room was spacious and equipped with a medium sized fridge, freezer, microwave, dishes and cutlery for use. You are able to rent for free a hot plate and cookware if needed (we did not opt to). The furnishings were very nice and modern, the accommodations were clean (sheets, etc.) overall. The only minor faults I noticed were utensils not completely clean - some had water stains and slight residue from prior use. We were very comfortable nevertheless and the blinds were great at keeping the sunlight out. Breakfast was a good offering, however I do have a bit of an issue that it was offered as a “hot breakfast”, The general norm I've come to understand is that a hot breakfast will include hot proteins like eggs, bacon… the only things that were hot were the oatmeal, DIY waffles, toast and breakfast sandwiches after heating them up in the microwave. They also did not rotate or offer variety over the course of the stay (five nights) which became a bit tiresome. Moreover, you have to be on time for breakfast, as they will pull the curtains on you (quite literally) at 9:30. A suggestion to elevate this to a stellar offering would be to consider incorporating a few hot trays (eggs, bacon, sausage) and rotate them with the breakfast sandwiches. Also, some folks felt rushed to grab items at 9:30, so perhaps an extension to 10am may be helpful for late risers. Can't give half circles - a one night stay would've been a 5, but it trended down a bit given the longer stay. Overall, despite the downfalls (which were minor in the grand scheme of things), provided you mix up your breakfast and eat out every now and then for longer stays, the Home2 Suites Brantford is a very good showing indicative of its current rating on TripAdvisor. The value is really good for what you receive, that is if you are willing to be a further distance away from the GTA and Niagara Falls area. We booked the hotel that day, because of the snow squall at London so we better stay overnight. The price is reasonable and the service is spot on. We have second floor room. The door knob is quite stuck but it's ok. The room is very clean, with a microwave, and the amenities are good. My daughter had a great time. We didn't try the swimming pool but it looks clean and inviting. Breakfast was small but cozy, the lady who in charge is very sweet. There are enough options for all of us, plus coffee and juice. We had a great time there.

Semua orang di hotel ini sangat membantu. Saya lupa krim pencukur saya dan saya dapat mendapatkannya di meja depan. Ruangan itu bersih dan itu bagus dan tenang. Penginapan yang menyeronokkan.

The staff are polite and attentive, the hotel was fully booked but we still received excellent customer service, to them a 5/5, Samantha and the front desk particularly. The beds were comfortable, the linens are getting old and could use an upgrade 3/5. Television was alight, we were here to experience a cultural event so tv wasn't a priority. The downfall and reason for the low score: the dust in the room and vents in bathroom need a deep cleaning. My partner had an asthma attack that brought us the the hospital on our first night, and the second again he was using his emergency puffer. This is an issue that is easily remedied. The bathroom was clean, but there too needs an update to the shower: the curtain needs a replacement as does the shower head. The water pressure and temperature was great! For a full hotel, it was quite quiet. The breakfast bar was typical for this range of hotel and pretty much exactly what is served at this chain, it's not great but gives you something before getting on with your day, and it's free... so why complain? We would probably stay here again if there was more attention paid to the cleanliness.

I have booked a room for one night on June 17, 2022, at Comfort Inn located in Brantford, Ontario. I did this booking through Booking.com and I chose to pay online with my credit card as opposed to paying at the property upon arrival. I trust Choice Hotels and stayed in their hotels many times before. I enjoy cycling and I cycle sometimes for long distances. My plan for this trip was to cycle from Toronto to Brantford, sleep at the hotel, and next day cycle back. This time it was not so simple. I don't drive and I don't have a driver's license, so when I travel I carry with me an OHIP card and citizenship card for identification. Unfortunately, this time I have only an OHIP card on me. The desk clerk refused to take it as an acceptable ID, citing the hotel policies. She also refused to make an exception this time due to the situation I was in. I didn't have a car, was extremely tired, was wearing only a t-shirt and my phone was about to die. I was looking forward to my room. Also, it was Friday night and the chances of me getting a room somewhere else were very slim. I pointed it all out to the clerk, but she still refused to check me in. Effectively, she kicked me out on the street from the hotel, which I already paid for. I spent about an hour riding around the town checking all the motels, which can take me. I figured those places will be less strict with acceptable ids. I checked five of them and they were all full. With only two more to go and check, I was facing a good possibility of spending the night outside in my t-shirt, and it was not a warm night. I got lucky, the motel number six has a room for me. The guy said he would not take credit or debit cards but only cash. I had to ride to the bank machine and back and was instructed to come to the side door of the office because the front door has a camera I would guess. I paid him 120 dollars and he let me into the room. I stayed in many motels before, basically, all of them are the same version of passable places to spend a night and move on. It looked to me that this room was in a process of reconstruction or renovation. I don't think anybody would pay for this room under normal circumstances. There was a bed with one sheet and a thin blanket and burned holes in it. There was a functioning toilet, clogged sink, old cracked up tv, which still worked, and a pretty decent wi-fi connection. The air conditioner was not working of course and all the windows were locked up. It was a clear case of a rip-off. But I still considered myself lucky and was grateful to the guy. At least, he didn't kick me out on the street. Back to the OHIP card acceptability. As a person without a driver's license, I have noticed many times how they would take my citizenship card and not an OHIP card. I think it all dated to the time when the OHIP card was more like a SIN card: no picture, signature just your name and number. These days OHIP cards are different and should be acceptable.
