Hotel berhampiran Slovak National Collection of Wines, Bratislava I

This is a serviced apartment very close to the city centre in Bratislava, and it was very reasonably priced. Please note it is not close to the train station (it's about half an hour walk if you want to try) but it's only a short hop away by tram. As it is quite close to the city centre, you can either go there for food or there are lots of restaurants nearby and some of them are quite good as well. The room was big, clean and bright. It has one big window, (mine was away from the street so it looks out to the back but the next building is still quite far away so there is still plenty of sunlight coming through). There is a kitchen and utensils (including a kettle if you want to make coffee or tea). The building has laundry machines that guests can use (I didn't need to use it but I think you do need to pay). The staff speaks very good English and friendly so they can be quite helpful if you have any questions. I didn't need to ask any as my stay here was faultless really. It would definitely be on my one of the choices of place to stay when I'm next in Bratislava. There are some things to note though. You probably won't be able to check in until after 2pm. I arrive early and had to wait for my room to be ready. They do have a luggage storage service free of charge though. I can't remember whether they have daily cleaning but I think they don't have daily cleaning from memory which is fine. I'm not a messy person by nature and I'm not that obsessed with hygiene so it wasn't an issue for me.

Visiting Bratislava for first time. Wedding anniversary so asked if any chance by email of an upgrade. Generously gave us an upgrade to a suite. Mrs T mightily impressed with the room and facilities. Staff all friendly. Breakfast brilliant with lots of choice. Interestingly bread and butter pudding which we think used yesterday croissants and pain a chocs. Absolutely delicious. Had a small issue with the bath tap. Reported and fixed while at breakfast. Fab service. Location very central with bus and tram stops nearby and can walk to old town in 10 mins. We will definitely return and highly recommend.

The location is great, in the old town area, but not at the centre spot, which gives it a slightly calmer vibe. The staff were helpful and friendly, the room was clean, and I like that there is no carpet in the room. The bathtub had consistently hot water, it was nice. Breakfast was okay, with basic selections for this price range of hotel. The car park has a residence rate for overnight parking, but it doesn't show anywhere; you need to ask the front desk.

Best hotel in centre of Bratislava. We were very pleased with the location of this hotel since it's literally behind presidential palace (what I believe is heart of the city). Historical part is 5-7 mins. walk, train station is 2 bus stops from presidential palace and to go to walk alongside the Danube river it was beautiful. There are many restaurants in city centre and right next to the hotel is a small grocery shop. Hotel is very modern and new, the staff was very nice and helped us when we needed. Girl on reception knew also russian/ukrainian which was nice to see. Hotel as well as room themselves were very clean and everything is proveded. They even have washing machine, dishwasher and kitchen in apartments! It was very convinient for us! We are looking forward to come back on our visit of Bratislava! The room is very tiny, but its really stylish and very cosy. I really love the design of the room and bathroom too. It was very clean. And I looooved that you could pick from 3 different variations of pillows. Actually the whole hotel has pretty great design and ”coming home” feeling. Haven seen hotels pool and sauna but its definitely big plus point. The location isn't perfect, but its quite ok, by walk 15-20min you can reach pretty much everything important. And now to the things I didn't like - I must say staff - from four and half star hotel I would really expect more. Girl who was working at night shift was sweet and helpful, but young man who was there the rest of my stay behaved almost pissed that I came to their hotel, wasn't very helpful, never smiled...I was very shocked. I know that not every day is a good day, but if you work with people in almost 5 star hotel, you just need to have certain way of behaviour. The internet didn't work at all, which I think its absolutely inadmissible in 4 and half star hotel. The IC didn't work either, the switcher was broken. The worst of all was that the main door to the room is paper thin and you can hear people breath on the hall or even in the next room. When I stayed there some other guest had party on the hall and later on in their rooms until 4am and its was absolutely NOT OK for such an exclusive hotel! So even there was nice bed, mattress, bed sheets....the sleeping quality was almost zero! I would highly recommend to change the main doors to the room to a soundproof ones.

My boyfriend & I stayed here for 2 nights during our inter-railing trip. Upon arrival we were given 2 drink vouchers to enjoy at the bar which was very generous. Furthermore, the staff at reception went above and beyond for us. When we got to the next city as part of our trip I realised I had left something in the hotel which was of sentimental value to me. I emailed the hotel & Maros replied within 24 hours to let me know that they could post my item home that I had left behind. The kindness & willingness of the staff to provide this level of customer service was something I was very grateful for & something that has been somewhat lost to an extent in this modern age. Not only this, the hotel itself is lovely & the rooms are extremely spacious which suited us as we had a lot of luggage. Would definitely recommend a stay here whilst in Bratislava!

We made good use of an upgrade certificate at the grand hotel. We were upgraded to a huge one bedroom suite on the 9th floor with access to the grand living room (their version of an executive lounge). The suite was probably the largest one bedroom suite we have ever stayed in. My wife is a Marriott ambassador and it was her birthday so those factors may have played into this extraordinary upgrade as well. I would have to say that I was underwhelmed by the grand living room. They serve warm soup in the afternoon but an attendant has to fetch it from the kitchen for you. We only saw an attendant once. The place was usually deserted. The only other food offered are a couple of different cold sandwiches and some breakfast pastries that appeared to be left over from the restaurant breakfast buffet. Oddly, the grand living room does not even open until noon even though they have breakfast pastries and a coffee machine. Don’t pay extra for the grand living room but if it is included in your upgrade it is a comfortable place to grab a cold beverage from the refrigerator or grab a light lunch. On a positive note, the fitness facilities are large and well equipped including the beautiful pool and spa. They are all located on the top floor of the hotel and offer nice views of the Danube. The locker rooms are luxurious but no steam room or saunas. The restaurant breakfast was free as an ambassador. There was a buffet of the usual hot and cold items. You can also order from a limited ala carte menu where everything except eggs Benedict is included. The waiter did not come often to check on us so make sure you get everything you need on the rare occasions when he visits your table. We ordered room service one evening and enjoyed the veal schnitzel and the chicken curry. The food came in less than 30 minutes and was served hot. It was beautifully presented on a serving cart with a white tablecloth. The hotel is a 10 minute walk along the Danube from the ufo bridge. From there, there is a crosswalk to cross a busy road and enter old town. The town square is another 15 minute walk. In nice weather the stroll from the hotel is very pleasant. By the way, if you want to visit the castle which sits up on a hill, google maps will direct you up a series of very steep staircases near the hotel. It is far easier to walk to old town where you will find gently sloping ramps to take you to the castle. The grand hotel river park is a beautiful place to stay. If you like to walk like we do you may like this location but it is a bit of a hike to old town. Fitness facilities are outstanding. The restaurant is fairly typical for a luxury collection hotel. Staff were friendly and courteous but no one stands out as exceptional. Pictures show the scant food offerings in the grand living room and our room service dinner.

The hotel is friendly and welcoming and well priced. Rooms are spacious and comfortable and the whole hotel is spotlessly clean. We came for a long weekend in Bratislava and staff were helpful in choosing places to visit and advising on routes to get to destinations. The bar and restaurant are very good and the wine selection is excellent. It is a 20 minute walk to the old town but the hotel is near the bus station. There is a little road noise as the hotel is on a major route but it’s not intrusive and overall it’s a quiet place to stay. Very good.
