Hotel 3 Bintang di Braunschweig

Je donne à cette chaine d'hôtel la note la plus basse ! Pourquoi ? Nous sommes arrivés à l'hôtel Agoda ”Centro Hotel Celler Tor” de Braunschweig en Allemagne le 7 mars à 23 h exténués. A la frontière Yagodin (Ukraine / Pologne) avec ma femme et mon gendre dans 2 voitures nous venions d'embarqué ma famille ukrainienne fuyant la guerre en Ukraine (la Babouchka de 80 ans, un bébé de 3 mois, 2 jeunes enfants et 3 mamans). Le réceptionniste nous a accueilli avec le sourire de circonstance, nous a proposé 3 chambres 3 places pour 256€. Pour le même choix sur le site internet de l'hôtel le tarif était de 216€. Le réceptionniste nous a donc conseillé de réservé en ligne. Chose faîte avec paiement en ligne. Tout était ok. C'est juste au moment de nous donner les clefs des chambres qu'il nous demande un certificat de vaccination. Je lui explique que les français ont un pass vaccinal sur leur téléphone, mais que dans la précipitation du départ ma famille ukrainienne ne sera pas en mesure de le présenter. Ce monsieur, apparemment peu informé de la situation dramatique en Ukraine, n'a fait que respecter le réglement de la chaîne allemande d'hôtel, il nous a catégoriquement expliqué de partir. Aucun humaniste de sa part, un bébé de 3 mois et une mamie de 80 ans l'ont laissé complétement imperturbable. Après beaucoup d'insistance, nous nous sommes retrouvés dans la rue, puis sur une aire d'autoroute pour ”dormir” à 10 dans 2 voitures. Peut-être s'agit-il d'un cas isolé... cependant, en pleine crise ukrainienne, l'épuisement en plus, cet évènement a eu un goût très très amer. J'ai posté un avis identique sur le site internet de cette chaîne d'hôtel... avis qui ne paraîtra pas... et depuis il m'est impossible de poster sur ce site. Une nuit dans la voiture pour une Babouchka, un bébé de 3 mois, 1 enfant de 2,5 ans et une autre de 6 ans, par une température de -1°, pour 216€, aucun remboursement possible !... c'est l'hospitalité de Agoda.... à Braunschweig en allemagne ! Fuyez !!!!!

The location of this hotel is perfect, situated just 3 minutes walk to the city area, close to REWA supermarket, cafes and small restaurants, and McDonalds opposite. The bus from the train station stops a very short walk away. The hotel reception was very welcoming and had no trouble extending our stay by another 10 days. Our room was modern, very clean, fresh towels daily, amenities and comfortable bed. Our room did not have a refrigerator or telephone but free Wifi and tea/coffee maki g facilities. As we had a room overlooking the wide area adjoining the hotel and close to a night club, it could be a little noisy on Friday and Saturday nights but the rest of the time was very quiet. A good breakfast was served daily. Overall this is a very comfortable and reasonably priced hotel given its proximity to the city and Cathedral precinct. It seems to be very popular judging by the constant stream of people checking in!!

We booked months advance. It was a special occasion for my elderly mother of 82. We explicitly requested 2 of their best rooms. Upon arrival, the location was excellent, right by the castle and Cathedral. We were there for the Christmas markets. There are 4 steps into the hotel (no disabled or pushchair access). I had 4 suitcases and a travel wheelchair. No help provided to enter the property. No help to the rooms. A member of the public ended up helping. Reception is dull, tired, depressing and cheap. Our initial reception lady was outrageously rude and unhelpful. I refused one of the rooms and would have walked out if another hotel had rooms. Note they have several cell type rooms that overlook a dismal triangular courtyard, dark, with at least 25 windows looking at you, including the awful breakfast room. We stayed in one of the best rooms. High celings and clean. However, hard cheap flooring, awful broken cheap furniture, no drawers, no tea and coffee facilities. No water bottles in the room. Awful decor in general. One lumpy pillow per bad mattress, awful heavy cheap duvets (2 single duvets on a double bed made up of 2 single beds - apparently normal in N. Germany). I had to share a bed with my mum. Needed 2 extra duvets. No separate shower. No non slip mat in the bath/shower. No handle by bath or shower height. My mother felt so unsafe she could only have body washes. Tiny towels, had to ask for more. No restaurant (just an affiliated Italian restaurant). No bar. No concierge service. Horrible poorly furnished lobby. Breakfast was weirdly served on the 1st floor. Coffee was burnt/bitter. Very basic food. The same every day. I wanted to go home within hours. This property could be amazing. It once was. Fallen grandeur. Very dissapointing. Mrs Schilling was amazing and tried her best.

Modern und sehr sauber, alles sehr großzügig ausgelegt, vom Zimmer über TV bis zur Duschkabine, recht gute Lage, Frühstücksbuffet eher schlicht aber gut, Café und Tee in verschiedenen Varianten, im Zimmer Vorhänge und Metalljalousien auf breiter Fensterfront im 1. Stock ( mit Fahrstuhl) . Sehr großer Parkplatz zu einem vernünftigen Preis. Fahrräder und Motorräder stehen überdacht.

Beautiful hotel within walking distance to Centrum; we were able to park in garage across street for discounted rate of 7 euro/24 hours. The room was totally renovated, with new ”wood” vinyl plank floors, king bed/mattress, but still had 16 foot ceilings (made me wonder what it looked like 20 years ago); elegant staircase going up, but there is also an elevator. Mini fridge had everything you wanted, but we were also able to take out beers on top shelf and put in a bottle of our wine. We brought our doxie along, and the hotel is very pet-friendly. I am glad we stayed here v. Best Western (which is in a bit of a ”seedy area”). The breakfast was delicious which included hot scrambled eggs...can't say enough about the hotel.

A good quality and well run hotel facing the hauptbanhof. Although the area is busy you can short term park outside the entrance, and there is a free hotel car park around the back. The bar and good restaurant are in their pleasant ”atrium lounge”, and breakfast is good. Temporarily, due to staff shortages they were unable to make up the room.

Everything is tiny at this hotel. The single bed in the room is probably the smallest bed ever, I really had trouble sleeping on it. The pillow size matched the bed size accordingly, small and pretty flat. I had to fold it in two to be able to use it. And this was for a Superior room! See the pictures attached. The TV in the room is also minuscule, watching from the bed is a real challenge, by far the smallest TV I have ever seen. The breakfast was also poor. Only one type of eggs, scrambled and killed, as hard as stone. Very poor variety, no breakfast sausages, no bacon, no meatballs or other fried meat side dishes for the eggs like other German restaurants, nothing of this sort. Small plates, one type of buns and two kinds of dark hard bread. I was there the first, at 8:00, and I don't think there was enough food for more than 4 people in a small self serve area with only a few options. For the price they ask for a room in this far from centre hotel they can definatelly do much better on all the above. I did not eat dinner at the hotel, after seeing the room and especially the bed I didn't want much to have with this place.
