It was a spa experience, the hotel itself is beautiful! I recently went to Saunton Sands Spa in hope of relaxing with a treatment and a couple vouchers I got for my partner for Christmas. However, I was met with more of a regimented process, feeling more like I was in the way than a customer being catered for. I paid £120 for two 30-minute facials, which I thought was on the pricier side but was willing to pay as it was a treat. We sat down waiting for our treatments, my partner went in after me. The treatment itself was nice, nothing special and lasted 20 minutes. When the treatment finished, we were not offered a robe or a shower to get all the oils out of our hair, so we had to get changed into our own clothes. When I exited the room, my partner was already outside, dressed, and ready to go! We then moved to the upstairs balcony, had some tea, and debriefed about our treatments. My partner sounded very disappointed and thought it was a waste of money for what he had done, which was a shame to hear as you expect to hear that it was money well spent and at least enjoyable. Furthermore, I couldn't fully relax with my hair feeling oily, wearing my jeans, and my bag on my shoulders, as I thought a locker would have been provided. As we weren't feeling very relaxed, we moved downstairs, where we thought we may be able to use the spa pool, as the treatments were cut short and we didn't feel at all relaxed and were in desperate need to feel hygienic leaving the spa. A manager of the spa saw us get in and told us to leave the pool as it wasn't part of what they offered, and there would be an additional fee if we stayed any longer. We got changed and left the spa feeling like it was a very clinical process and not worth the money or time. Real shame.
