Outstanding boutique hotel situated in the most beautiful spot by the Yulong River with breathtaking views in all four directions! We like how the style of the hotel reflects and complements the natural beauty of the area. There are abundant amenities and plenty of activities to pursue just around the property. It’s perfect for people who want to enjoy the beautiful pristine Shanshui of Guilin uninterrupted. We travelled with our extended family of 7 and everybody had a great time (especially our 2yo). The hotel is very kids friendly and the staff are wonderful. The swimming pool is immaculate and well equipped. We were also happily surprised by the quality of the food provided at the hotel. The ingredients were local and super fresh and the beer fish was very tasty. We ended up eating most of our lunches and dinners at the hotel. The room itself is gorgeous. We woke up everyday bathing in the morning sun with unobstructed views of the breathtaking Shanshui along the Yulong river! If you wake up early and go to the top floor, you will be rewarded with a special bonus! We are already looking forward to our next trip to Yangshuo and Xishi Jinshe!

Honestly if I could give 11/10 I would. The room, amenities & cleanliness were fantastic. The views of the mountains/ river were gorgeous and the grounds were very well maintained with wood carvings and eclectic touches of modern & traditional Chinese design. But for us what really put it over the edge was the friendliness, warmness and helpfulness of the staff who really went above and beyond. I could not recommend this hotel enough and will be top of my list if I’m ever back in Yangshuo. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

＞ Exceptional hospitality, peaceful location, and perfect for families! ＞ Our stay here was absolute perfection from start to finish. The hotel is situated in a wonderfully quiet area right near a great cafe, making it a peaceful retreat. ＞ The staff at the front desk were incredibly warm, friendly, and helpful. When we had trouble booking our bamboo rafting online, they stepped right in and handled the reservation for us seamlessly. They even have a very cute hotel cat that my child absolutely adored! ＞ Hygiene and comfort were top-notch—the hotel is spotlessly clean, the towels and bedsheets smelled completely neutral and fresh (no strong perfume or chemical odors!), and the shower water pressure was fantastic. We stayed in a room near the pool, which was a huge hit with the kids, and the staff went out of their way to ensure we always had fresh towels ready for swimming. ＞ We truly felt cared for throughout our stay and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!

A trainee checked us in and assigned #1005. Upon entering, we noticed a strong cigarette odor. The front desk was courteous and offered two alternative rooms, but both had similar lingering smells. Housekeeping provided an air purifier, which helped somewhat. We also observed guests smoking in the hallway, so the odor seems to be an ongoing issue. As non-smokers who are sensitive to smoke, this was a significant drawback and not something we typically encounter with international hotel brands. There was also some confusion during payment. After showing us the rooms, the trainee realized we had not been charged and brought a POS machine to the room, which did not have a signal. We eventually had to go downstairs and complete three separate transactions via Alipay. Note that Alipay charges a ~3% service fee on transactions over ¥200 when using international cards, which may be inconvenient for some travelers. I have been using my Visa at global hotel brands for over a month and encountered no issues. One frustrating moment was when housekeeping insisted there was no cigarette odor. We understand that perceptions may differ, but it’s important to acknowledge guest feedback, especially for those sensitive to smoke. The bed was comfortable, and sound insulation was average. Despite being on the 10th floor, we could hear traffic noise as well as our neighbors talking and moving furniture. Wi-Fi was also quite slow (2.4 GHz only), with speeds in the teens for both upload and download. Light switches were complicated with options like London, Paris. New York, etc. The hotel isn't a new built and used to be another hotel as you can see from their mugs, towels, etc. Note to myself to book for newly built, not newly opened. The hotel offered us a complimentary breakfast on the 12th floor. The selection was primarily Chinese (about 95%), with minimal Western options. None of the items were labeled, which could be challenging for international guests and those with dietary restrictions. Laundry service is available, either self-service or through staff. However, communication was difficult and the interaction felt unnecessarily complicated. The staff who collected our clothes was talking so loudly that my husband thought we were arguing. In hindsight, we should have done the laundry ourselves The hotel is within a 10 minute walking distance to a food street that has tons of eateries that locals go. It will be difficult to order in non Chinese. Overall, the hotel does not appear to cater well to non-Chinese-speaking guests. Per my husband, despite using the translation app, basic requests (asking for an umbrella) were difficult without Mandarin, which made the experience more tiring. During check out, the front desk offered some dried fruit as a gift and reminded us to give a 5 star rating on everything. This is a common request as we experienced it at a previous hotel. This is our 4th local hotel throughout the 6 weeks visit in China. In summary, while the stay was acceptable, the persistent cigarette odor and communication challenges would prevent us from choosing a similar local hotel again.

Our stay at SYYF Guilin was absolutely amazing and exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was exceptional and the staff made us feel truly welcomed with their warm and dedicated service. A special appreciation to the team for their excellent coordination and support through Trip.com, which made the entire experience smooth and comfortable. The hotel itself is beautifully maintained, with elegant rooms, a peaceful atmosphere, and attention to every small detail. One of the highlights was the breakfast — there was a fantastic variety of delicious options catering to different tastes, all fresh and of great quality. Another huge advantage is the hotel’s perfect location. SYYF Guilin is in close proximity to all the major attractions, making it extremely convenient to explore the beauty of Guilin without spending too much time travelling. Overall, this hotel offers the perfect combination of luxury, comfort, hospitality, and convenience. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Guilin — we would definitely love to stay here again!

This hotel exceeded every expectation and became one of the biggest highlights of our trip. From the incredible location and breathtaking views to the outstanding service and unforgettable experiences, everything was simply perfect. 📍 The Perfect Location The hotel is perfectly located next to Fubo Hill, with beautiful views of the Li River and Guilin’s iconic karst mountains. The Two Rivers & Four Lakes Scenic Area, restaurants, cafés, shopping streets, and many of the city’s top attractions are all within easy walking distance. We couldn’t have chosen a better location. 🏊 Stunning Rooftop Infinity Pool The rooftop infinity pool is absolutely breathtaking. Swimming while enjoying panoramic views of the Li River and Guilin’s spectacular mountain landscape was one of the most memorable moments of our stay. It’s truly one of the most beautiful hotel pools we’ve ever experienced. 🍜 Breakfast with an Incredible View Every morning began with a delicious breakfast overlooking the Li River and the surrounding karst mountains. The food was excellent, offering both Chinese and Western options, and the beautiful scenery made every breakfast feel special. 🛏️ Beautiful Rooms The room was spacious, spotless, stylish, and equipped with everything we needed. Every detail was thoughtfully designed, making our stay incredibly comfortable. ❤️ Exceptional Hospitality The staff were among the friendliest we’ve met during our travels. Everyone was genuinely kind, attentive, and always happy to help. Their warmth and professionalism made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. 🎣 Authentic Local Experiences This hotel offers so much more than just a place to stay. One of our favorite experiences was traditional riverside fishing with cormorants, which was both relaxing and uniquely local. We also loved the Chinese calligraphy class, children’s craft activities, and the complimentary traditional costume photoshoot with three beautifully edited photos included. 👨👩👧👦 Perfect for Families Our children loved the spacious indoor playroom and all the activities prepared by the hotel. It is an excellent choice for families traveling with kids. 🍽️ Excellent Restaurant We also had dinner at the hotel’s restaurant and were genuinely impressed. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and the atmosphere was wonderful. 🧺 Thoughtful Extras Free self-service laundry, complimentary cultural activities, lovely farewell gifts, and so many thoughtful little touches made our stay even more memorable. ✨ Final Thoughts This hotel offers far more than just a beautiful place to stay—it creates unforgettable memories. Every detail, from the stunning views and panoramic rooftop pool to the warm hospitality and unique cultural experiences, made our visit truly special. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Guilin. It truly might be the best hotel in the city!

Room was well appointed and spacious. Kept rather clean too, but the air conditioning took extremely long to cool the room down, almost 7 hours to cool from 30 degrees to 26 degrees at full fan speed. Our room was facing the back street, it was very very noisy at night and noise from the street can be heard clearly. Hotel does provide earplugs. Free laundry and dryer available.

The hotel enjoys an excellent location right by Rong Lake, part of the Two Rivers and Four Lakes scenic area. The hotel looks a bit old, but butlers Xu and Deng were extremely warm and welcoming. They told us the building has a 100-year history and once served as the headquarters of General Bai Chongxi during the warlord era, making it full of historical significance — truly amazing. After staying here for one night, we chose to come back and stay again. The butlers helped us deliver our luggage directly to our room, which brought us great convenience. Laundry service is also very convenient. Though there was a slight language barrier, the service was warm, thoughtful and attentive. We will definitely come back again.

We stayed at New West Street International Hotel for total of 10 nights as we accompanied our child at a nearby Chinese school in the summer. This extended time gave us the opportunity to really got to experience the hotel facilities, the food, and the service.  First the location.The actual location is about a 10 to 15 minute walk from the actual West Street. To us, the distance is actually a good thing. Food, shops, and amenities at West Street are overly tailored for tourists. The hotel location is quiet and peaceful. Nearby are many local restaurants and shops that we much preferred. In fact, we found ourselves walking away from the West Street direction to get some great local foods everyday of our stay. That said, the hotel offers an excellent shuttle service beginning at 3:30pm until late at night if that's what you are into.  Second, the hotel building itself is in excellent condition. It appears many of the facilities and rooms were recently renovated. The lobby is open and airy and makes a comfortable gathering spot for us to meet our friends before heading out. The hotel sometimes accommodates tour groups. Even when we see as many as three tour buses parked in the back, the hotel does not feel congested nor noisy. The room itself is tastefully updated with a large flat screen TV, USB-C chargers, and automated curtains. The beds were comfortable and our balcony room faced a beautiful karst mountain and a nearby pond. The room appears to have great noisy insulation. We did not hear our neighbors like we did in other Chinese hotels. Third, the place is always clean. We see staff cleaning public areas all the time, wiping down handrails, elevator buttons, countertops. etc. As for our room, the home keeper always kept it clean and orderly. We had some problems with smell the first day. A housekeeper came and troubleshoot the problem to durian smell in the mini-fridge. Not only did she wipe it down, but even without us asking, the later came back with another mini-fridge to make sure no smell was left. That really made an impression on us. Next, the staff. Everyone we encountered was always friendly and greeted us. From the cleaning staff to the front desk reception to the restaurant waiters. Everyone was friendly. We can only speak limited mandarin but the staff still talked to us best they could in English. Rachel, the manager on site, was especially friendly to make sure we got everything we needed. She understands we were staying for an extended period of time so she was always asking what can be improved for our long stay. The hotel added us to WeChat where they respond quickly to all the typical requests like room service to sending us extra water. I wish more hotels do this.  Finally, the facilities. We used the laundry room daily. There are 5 washers and 3 dryers by my count. Most of the time, I can find an empty machine to wash my laundry. Mornings are best for doing laundry. After dinner time is the busiest time. We occasionally had to take out other people's laundry that were just sitting there but it's rare. The pool is large, warm, and clean. The shallow end is perfect for kids or just wading around. The deep end is 1.7M deep so it's plenty for actual swimming. We also used the on-site travel agent to book a private transfer to the Guilin high speed station. Rachel happened to be nearby when we did this and she helped with some translation with the agent and it was very appreciated. The restaurant was large and there was always space for us to sit even when there are large tour groups. It offers mainly Chinese options but also have some Western items. Food was abundant and delicious. The Guilin rice noodles in the back is tasty and the broth is excellent. The only thing is the coffee could be a little bit better! We loved our stay at the New West Street International Hotel and would not hesitate to go back next time we visit Yangshuo. 

Our stay at the River View Hotel was absolutely fantastic. The hotel is very well located, close to the harbour and West street where restaurants and shops are located. The hotel is beautifully decorated and all is well taken care of. But the best part without any doubt is the staff. They are the kindest, most helpful and understanding people we have found in our trip. They speak English very well too, which makes communication much easier since we don’t speak Chinese. We’re sad to leave since this felt like our second home.
