This place was a dream. Jia & Tong are lovely people with good taste. Travelling on my own and having little idea of what to do in the area (due to lacking Chinese language skills), Jia was super helpful with recommendations and arrangements. I only had one day but he managed to make arrangements in such a way that I saw another beautiful old Dong village that wasn’t too touristy as well as the stunning rice-field sunset. I felt like I could even just spend the day watching the view from the balcony whilst drinking the amazing tea. But instead I had a great day and even rounded it off chatting in great company and trying some local drinks. The local people are creative, super friendly and some have a great sense of humour ;) I’ve hardly ever felt so taken care of, so safe, and with so much fun. All the amenities are high quality, the sheets felt like 100% cotton (which is very rare across China I found!) The designs are great using local materials. And yes, the bath is great too! I forgot to ask for local shopping recommendations, which I am sure they must have as they have some beautiful items in the rooms and in the social area. I very much hope to visit again soon. It feels like an area and a place full of people I would love to get to know better.

Without a doubt, this is one of the best hotels I’ve ever experienced. Its prime location in the Center of the village with a wonderful view on the old houses , and the rooms are impeccably clean. The service is amazing , drinks at the entry, wash clothes, breakfast … everything is really perfect but what truly stood out was the incredible kindness of the staff. They helped organize everything and provided a breakfast box as I was I left too early in the morning. I totally recommend this place and this village has been definitely one of the main highlights of my 20 days trip in china :)

Before arriving, the homestay stafd took the initiative to contact me via Wechat so that they can arrange for transport to bring us from the train station to the hotel. This hotel is located inside Zhaoxing Ancient Village so do purchase the entrance tickets beforehand. The hotel is located towards the end of the village and our room is facing a small paddy field. It is very convenient to move around as it is only 5-10 minutes walk to the bus station if you want to take the shuttle bus to Tang'An Rice Terrace. It is also about 5-10 minutes walk to the centre of the village where you can find food and other necessities. The staff is very considerate- they will message me on wechat to ask what we prefer for breakfast so that they can prepare the noodles and coffee for us by the time we want to go down for breakfast. They can also deliver the breakfast to your room if you prefer. The beds are very comfortable although the pillows can be a bit harder and will be good to have more hooks in the bathroom for guests to hang their towels and clothes before showering. All in all, would highly recommend this homestay. Thank you for the hospitality!

Beautiful hotel with great views of the village from every room. The staff is very friendly and helpful and some of them speak English. Communication was great via Wechat throughout our stay. They helped us book transfers and recommended a nice restaurant in town where we had one of our best meals in China.

Very lovely stay ! The hotel location is super near the centre while remaining calm. We were given an upgrade for free and the breakfast was very good and varied Room is big and clean Super convenient pickup at the train station and the host is available for info whenever We’ll come back there :))

The Creekside Inn has modern, elegantly designed rooms (I can’t emphasize that enough), a very good location with beautiful views, and a friendly, capable staff, that truly goes out of its way to be helpful— all of this at quite favorable prices. The water is hot and the bed is heated for winter in the mountains. I stayed four days, and would’ve stayed longer had I had time, just because I felt so wonderfully at home there. I left with plans to return with my wife next year. English spoken. Oh，and I got a splendid breakfast tailored to my individual dietary requirements! I have visited 35 countries and traveled all over China, and I have never been happier with my accommodations anywhere!

Extremely clean, with the most comfortable beds I’ve had in China. Great value for money – clean bathrooms, lovely wooden rooms. The hostess is a wonderfully kind and helpful lady, and it really feels like a homestay, but with hotel-level quality.

I had a wonderful stay here and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Zhaoxing Dong Village. The owner was incredibly kind, welcoming, and knowledgeable. She took the time to explain the village, shared excellent sightseeing tips, and recommended some of the best local restaurants, which made my trip much more enjoyable. To my surprise, she also gave me a complimentary upgrade to a larger room. The room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable—perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The location is another huge advantage. The hotel is conveniently located near the entrance of Zhaoxing Dong Village, making it easy to arrive with luggage and begin exploring the village right away. What truly made this stay exceptional was her genuine hospitality. She went above and beyond to make sure I had a great experience. Highly recommend! We stayed here in April with our kids and everything about Zhaoxing Dong village and this hotel is so heartwarming and memorable! A trip we will remember forever! The owner is from Yunnan. He and all the staff are incredibly helpful, kind and friendly! Communication was clear before we arrived. They messaged us on WeChat and picked us up from the train station and brought our luggage to the hotel. The breakfast lady makes the most delicious soup noodle every morning and the hami melon is so sweet! Breakfast is served on the rooftop and the view in the morning is so serene as the town is still quiet. The hotel was even were so kind to make a bowl of soup noodle when our kids were not feeling well one evening. And the breakfast lady personally walked me to a local shop that sells handmade herbal shampoo to help promote healthy hair! I was so moved by her friendliness to share the towns local best kept secrets. There is a free green shuttle that picks up every few blocks within the town: this was very handy when traveling with kids who get tired from walking easily.
