The Calamvale Hotel seems like it is in an odd location, but there aren't many other choices in this part of Brisbane Southside. I stayed for two nights with two rooms in-between moving out of a property and leaving Brisbane. Check in was fast and easy and was in the 3rd floor rooms within minutes. Parking in the afternoon was no problem with space out front and in the basement. Note the carpark does get busy in the evening with patrons attending the restaurant. The rooms were very generously sized, modern and clean. Beds and pillows were great and the bathrooms were great too. I didn't eat at the restaurant this time, but had previously. Expect the typical Australian pub fare. Overall, a pleasant and drama free stay. My only criticism would be the room rate is steep considering it isn't a CBD hotel, but as mentioned there aren't many options in this part of Brisbane. I'd likely stay again if I needed to be in the area.

Great Hotel very comfortable beds, clean and the staff are warm and friendly. Walking distance to the Children’s Hospital. There are many options of food right next door to the hotel. Pub on the corner of the Annerley Rd. Fancy a night at a theatre? Then The Princess Theatre is also a few doors down. Breakfast is available at hotel for an extra charge. Their prices are also affordable. Parking is available.

Fantastic location. Service was amazing, with shout out to staff - Exec Chef James, F&B Operations Manager, Gareth, Christine from the Signature Restaurant just to name a few who made our stay amazing and went the extra mile. In fact all the staff we met were really helpful, attentive and happy. Recommend the upstairs pool, the terrace bar for cocktails. Book it, a perfect escape…leave the kids at home.

Booked 2 bedroom apartment but was given 3 bedrooms instead. King size bed and single bedded rooms have windows, queen size bed without windows. All rooms have air conditioning. Room allocated didnt have a proper dining area, had 3 bar chairs with a small area. Took turns to have our meals. Sofa was great with recliners but too small for family of 4. Bread toaster and all appliances were clean and in order. Short walk to Botanic gardens, Queen Street mall and we were able to walk to South Bank. Free Cityhopper ferries at Riverside Terminal which is within walking distance too. Encountered an usual foggy morning and a fascinating view!

The newly-opened voco is a delightful hotel hidden inside an otherwise slightly dreary-looking building. From the outside it looks a tad unappealing, but inside it's been thoroughly rennovated and is quite snazzy. Reception are friendly and the foyer breathes modern. The corridors to the rooms are quite dark and nothing special, but inside, the rooms have been re-built to look and feel quite luxurious for business-traveller standards. Breakfast was an excellent spread and the view from the high-floored rooms are quite nice. One thing to note: there's currently (July '23) major roadworks taking place one block away down North Quay, the road out the front of the hotel. There was no noise in the hotel but traffic out the front of the hotel moves at a snail's pace as a result. For taxi drop-off/pickups, ask for the corner of George St and Ann St. It's a 100m walk and you'll save lots of time.

This was definitely not value for money. For the price paid the service was unacceptable. We arrived at 2am in the morning with my elderly mother, not one staff member helped with our bags either out of our car or up to our room! When we entered our room the tea/coffee facilities had not been cleaned from the previous guest nor refilled. When dining at the restaurant the waitress wrote down our order incorrectly, they came out with octopus instead of gnocchi and asked me if I'd be happy to eat the octopus instead. I declined, then my mother and I dined at completely different times, with not so much as an apology. Before arriving our flight from Indonesia was delayed on the tarmac so I got on the ”live chat” on the hotels direct website to advise them. The live chat worker told me she couldn't inform the front desk of my late arrival and instead I would need to call the hotel....how ridiculous. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. We moved after three nights to a similarly located hotel for almost half the price and had one of the best hotels stay ever. Don't waste your money here, it is 3 star at best!

Convenient location in Brisbane city. Reception provided great service, was polite and welcoming. We had a warm welcome and a quick, easy and fuss-free check in process. Thank you Vania! (Hope I got her name right) Amazing view from the Sky Lounge located on the 36th floor. However the apartment was slightly dirty. We put up the sign to make up our room but it was not made at all, even when the housekeeping staff was cleaning the room next to ours when we left. We left the hotel to go out in the morning and when we returned at night the ”make up the room” sign was still on our door and the room was exactly as we left it when we went out. Room wasn't made, toiletries weren't replenished.

If you have things planned within Brisbane CBD then this is the best hotel for you. Amenities and facilities are all basic but they got everything you need for a comfortable stay. Buffet breakfast is almost the same each day but they serve good coffee anyway. Their gym is also open 24 hours a day if you wamt to squeeze in a little workout in between your trip.

PPengguna TetamuWhilst our stay in the Hotel X Suite was pleasant, there was nothing memorable about it. The suite was spacious, fitted with modern conveniences (ie. electric blockout curtains, Dyson hairdryer, zip tap and smart tv) and was generally comfortable. Unfortunately, the bathroom lacked privacy as it overlooked the street and directly faced another building across the road so the blinds were always drawn preventing natural light from coming in. Also, there is no separate toilet with lockable door. Although, the toiletries were nice and the shower quite spacious. Service was friendly but lacked a personal touch. Breakfast at Bisou Bisou had a limited menu but the food was overall good. The rooftop bar (Iris) had great views, a good tapas menu and relaxing vibe. The location of the hotel is convenient, within walking distance of the buzzing James Street precinct and a short car ride to the city centre.

There's no view in the room but wasn't much of an issue. The pool was great, but the swim up bar wasn't open on Friday, despite the homepage saying it is. It was open on Saturday but we were getting ready to checkout so really wasn't in the drinking phase. The executive lounge had good choice of food and drinks. They only had beers and wines so no spirits, even basics. The rooms were spacious. The bathroom door wouldn't close properly and there was no lock which was bit inconvenient. The sofa bed was bit small for 2 ppl and the king bed was very spacious. Overall it was great hotel for an overnight stay as family. Would highly recommend

PPengguna TetamuWe stayed here the night before leaving on a cruise that was leaving from the International Cruise Terminal. The main reason we chose this hotel was its close proximity to Roma Street Station as we caught the train from the airport. While it is close to the train station it is located at the top of a reasonable hill and it took a bit of effort to navigate the way to the top, apart from the effort. Several escalators/lifts and then a steep path with no real directions on which way to go. I thought I would be able to see the hotel to give me an idea which way but had to resort to Google Maps to find the way. Unfortunately we were on an early flight into Brisbane so as it was 09:30AM I was not expecting our room to be ready but just needed to store our bags so we good do some exploring. As expected, our room was not ready but the guy behind the counter checked me in, stored our bags and advised that the hotel was busy and our room would not be ready until about 02:00PM. No worries we will be back. We arrived back at 01:00PM and our room was still not ready and waited in the foyer till 02:00PM as previously discussed. Reception gave me our keys and we proceeded to our room on Level 1, or so I thought……..room card would not let me use the lift. Back to reception to have the card re-coded. On entry to our room, it was reasonably spacious and looked clean and reasonably comfortable. Décor a bit dated, but functional. We had a rather large balcony but we could not use it as there was no furniture so the balcony was wasted. Bathroom was small but functional, bit dated but appeared clean. It was only after we used the toilet several times that we noticed water on the floor. We ignored it for quite a while as we thought we had spilt water on the floor but it was not till the next morning that I realised it was coming from under the toilet. I reported it to reception on checkout. As we were tired from our early start we chose to order room service. While we knew how much it was going to cost it was very expensive. Two hamburgers and chips over $70. A bit steep, but as we were so tired we paid so we did not have to go out. The hamburgers were good by the way, but still way too expensive. Overall, this hotel was OK, but the room was supposed to be a superior room. OK. I would hate to be in a Standard Room………..as the room was pretty average for a Superior. After reading some of the other reviews the price we paid was fair and the location is good, just not when you have to push two big suitcases that we were taking on a cruise up the hill from the station. PS. It cost us $73 in the taxi to get to the Cruise Terminal.

PPengguna TetamuLoc Super convenient location on the corner of Jephson St and Sherwood Rd, with the popular Toowong Village Shopping Centre, a 10 minute walk away. The Toowong railway station can be accessed directly from the shopping centre. There are plenty of buses trundling up and down Sherwood Rd heading in various directions to the city or to the Indooroopilly Shopping Centre further south. The nearest ferry terminal is Regatta, less than a km away, but at the time of writing it is still under repair following last year's floods. Room We found the room to be clean, comfortable and spacious, with a large king bed, two bedside tables, each with a drawer and a lamp, a TV on the wall, and a handy desk for working at. On the balcony, was a small table and two chairs. There were plenty of power points to charge appliances and the downlights were strong enough for easy reading. The stylish touch lamp on the desk and standing lamp in the corner were useful for extra illumination. There was a hanging rail with about eight hangers. There were two sets of two drawers, one underneath the hanging rail and the safe, with one larger set underneath the TV. They were reasonably sized, but being virtually on the floor, they were super inconvenient to access. I can’t understand why the designers didn’t think of this, because it’s extra difficult to get down so low, especially if you’re a bit older, or with knee problems. Also in the room was a safe but that too required bending down. On top of the safe and below the hanging rail was a shelf to store one suitcase. The tea and coffee making facilities were also very difficult to access as they were rammed into a little shelf snuck between the drawers and the desk-top. The room though was quiet, being at the back of the property and therefore not facing directly onto either Jephson Street or Sherwood Rd, both busy roads. One could hear some noise from within the hotel as people walked up and down the corridor, but it was a minor inconvenience and most fellow guests seemed friendly and well behaved. There wasn’t much of a view, and the room just looked out onto the sprawling next door apartment complex, and to the right between the trees we could see Jephson Street, and the traffic going up and down, but the sound didn’t carry into the bedroom if the balcony door was kept closed. Bathroom The bathroom was not an en-suite, being situated in the passageway, between the front door and the bed. That was just as well, as it had a sliding door, which is never great for privacy, although it could be locked. But the bathroom was modern and stylish, and the water pressure in the shower was strong. A transparent glass wall separated the bathroom from the bedroom, which shocked me when I first saw it. I immediately phoned the reception to tell them that we needed another room due to the lack of bathroom privacy. But luckily, as reception pointed out to me, the glass has an inbuilt feature which, at the flick of a switch could turn i

Rooftop bar is a great place for a drink looking over King George Square My only negative on this visit to the Mercure was that my room had a lot of very small moths in the room Check in is friendly and efficient and location is very good - short walk from Central Station, Queen Street mall and Southbank.

Greeted and served by the loveliest reception staff, I wish I had of asked for your name - the sweet filo receptionist made us feel so special and welcomed for the night. The room was a little smaller than the pictures but super modern and exciting change from our usual hotel stays, loved all the art and the cute courtyard out back. The bed was the absolute highlight of our stay though 😅 felt like a cloud, we really struggled getting up in the morning because it was so comfy. Overall a lovely little spot to spend the night, thanks staff! Miss Lyric x

PPengguna TetamuIt is a bit inconveniently located far from the city center and there’s no real restaurants or shops around. When I first checked in to the original room it smelled very bad and I started getting a headache. They said it’s the smell from the new carpet and they might have used glue or something. I was happy with my new room but it had another issue that I keep hearing banning noise day and night. I inquired about this to multiple workers but the only I thing I heard was they have no idea where the noise was coming from. The service was ok generally but one of the housekeepers kept coughing and made me really uncomfortable to get my room cleaned. Also, usually other hotels give one hour complimentary late check out but only this hotel didn’t allow any late check out.
One good thing about this hotel was that they had really big smart tv and I could watch Netflix and YouTube.
Overall, my experience at this hotel wasn’t too great and I wouldn’t really recommend this hotel unless you have a car and not too sensitive to noises.

1194HeatherM194Stayed here for a couple of months for work nearby. Had a great reception from staff. very friendly, helpful and inviting. Which remained throughout my visit, nothing was too much trouble, always helpful. Room was perfect, city skyline view at night from the balcony was great. Room facilities gave me all I needed for cooking and storage. Cleanliness was outstanding across whole property. Car parking secure. I love early morning walks and this was an easy stretch to the river for exercise. I think they even ordered perfect weather for me. Great hotel, well done 😊

PPHILLIP JAMESThis hotel is just a 5 min walk to the Queen Street Mall and also very close to the Treasury ******. I arrived at about 2:00pm (the set check inn time), but a large tour group was also trying to check inn. So I let my luggage and came back latter. My room was located on Level 12, and at the back of the building. As the hotel is opposite a construction site, it was wise to have a room facing the back of this building. The view is nothing exceptional - just a small courtyard with taller buildings surrounding the hotel. The room was very spacious with a comfortable sofa-chair and lamp to view the TV (from a distance). The internet was hit and miss. There are two connections. One free with lower internet speeds and another network for $5 with higher speeds. I was given access to the higher speed network for free when visiting the reception for voucher. Some times the internet connection was exceptional but often it dropped out and you have to reconnect several times. The bathroom was very modern and shower was fulled enclosed with glass door, rather than a shower curtain. However, note there are two issues with the bathroom. The toilet is not accustomed too much paper, and was often blocked. (fortunately there is bathroom brush provided to unblock the toilet). Secondly, there seems to be some problem with the drain under the sink, that was letting water in to the bathroom floor. Hap to mop up the wet floors, using towels, which I put over the drain. Despite these problems, I would still recommend this hotel. It represents good value for money in a prime location.

Had to arrange own transfer to airport, no customer service just text messages. Paid $260 for 1 night non refundable unless canceled day before arriving. Emailed motel & group - no response Unsafe accommodation- do not stay here
