Bunaken Oasis Dive Resort and Spa

We stayed at this resort on our honey moon and everything is beyond our expectation! 1. The resort services are magnificent and very personalized. From welcome brief to dive schedule explanation to room tour, the staff presented in a very slick and professional way, and we felt immediately right at home. All facilities are clean and tidy, and the cottage room is decorated very tasteful with lots of space. The foods from the restaurant are also fantastic. Throughout our stay all staff remember our names and preferences, and they were all very patient and gentle and nice to us. Especially because we were on honey moon, the staff and management prepared many surprises for us, including framed photos taken during our dive trips and a romantic pool side dinner. We were so flattered and very touched by the hospitality! 2. Dive operations here are just slick - punctual, gears are very well maintained, and the staff would even help clean and dry your own gears and wet suit so you may just head back to the resort with ease after dives. Dive masters are all very experienced and very good at finding good stuff - macro lives for my personal interest especially. We had wonderful diving experience here. In summary, we would recommend everyone to come and experience top notch dives and resort in Bunaken Oasis.

I've stayed at more than 40 dive resorts (and have been on a few live-aboards) over the past 50 years; and Bunaken Oasis without a doubt provided the finest, most extraordinary and memorable dive vacation I've ever experienced. Period. Bunaken Oasis is, quite simply; peerless. And my dive-buddy wife, Stacie, feels the same way. And for those of you who may have a non-diving significant other, fear not. This amazing Shangri-la will nourish the mind/body/spirit of anyone who stays here, whether you're diving or not. The resort itself is stunningly beautiful and reflects the insights, vision and intention of it's creators/owners, Elaine and Simon Wallace. The overall feeling is one of intimacy. Carefully carved into a hillside, it feels like being in a botanical garden by the ocean. The views from the cottages, restaurant, bar, pool or longhouse are a sensory delight. And the infinity pool and waterfalls provide yet another meditative and relaxing oasis within the Oasis. The Personal Touch- After you collect your luggage and step out of the Manado airport Arrivals terminal, you will be greeted by one of the Bunaken Oasis team members who will make you feel like a long-time friend---even if it's you're first time there! (That is also the last time you will lift a finger with your luggage or diver gear). Stacie and I were greeted by Andre, the front office supervisor, and his team. The transfer from the airport is a 2-stage process with a 30 minute car ride to the boat, then a comfortable 30 minute boat ride to the resort with refreshments served aboard. Even though we had a flight delay and arrived late during dinner time, the GMs, Kelly and Simon, were there to greet us at the longhouse, provide us with a detailed orientation, and welcome us aboard. As we quickly learned, Kelly and Simon are very "hands-on", humorous and helpful GMs who genuinely take great delight in insuring each guest has a memorable, hassle-free experience. They lead by example and, as a result, the entire staff exhibits the same friendly, helpful and "can do" spirit. As the week progressed, we truly began to feel like part of the "family". Diving- This is why we came, and the diving is absolutely amazing and unsurpassed. The Bunaken Marine Park has the healthiest reefs and most lush, abundant marine life we've seen in years. 'Truly made our hearts sing! Prepare to be pampered and spoiled by the valet diving service provided by the boat team; and know that there will be no more than 4 divers ever assigned to a dive master/reef guide. We had the good fortune to be assigned to Feibe; she was calm, patient, attentive, playful and had an incredible awareness of her surroundings. She spotted things we would have missed without her; and her passion for diving was evident, as was her professionalism & competence. She truly enhanced our diving experience. Just returned from our second visit to Bunaken Oasis Dive Resort, first was Sep. 2023, and yet again all expectations were still exceeded! If one was to look in a dictionary for the definition of Service Quality the would be a photo of this resort! No matter what level of staff you encounter there is a happy greeting and smile from them. It all starts at the airport upon arrival, the boat to the island, arrival at Oasis, the bar, restaurant, dive office, dive boats, garden staff , pool staff, kitchen staff, housekeeping, spa and on. Absolutely incredible how this resort has nailed Customer/Guest Service. Basically there is hardly any moment where you don’t have that WOW Feeling and that also occurs when your Dive Guide shows you some of the hardest to find and see critters. Cudo’s to Kelly and Simon for instilling the type of Service Quality attitude with the staff. Have to mention Roby and his Restaurant/Bar Staff with the absolutely perfect meals, cocktails and service and can’t forget Susie and the Maserati car, really a picture, she gave me. (Long story) Be prepared to add some extra body mass on your stay. The diving and dive operation is exceptional with Pete handling this part at the resort. Our dive guide on this trip was (Mr) Hentje, really has Eagle Eyes, and if you want to see some small critters and they are in the vicinity he will find them. The dive guides with the other divers on our boat were just as detail oriented as our guide. As mentioned in my 2023 review there is a reason these guys have garnered so many awards. From owners, met on our first trip, to mangers to rest of staff they are always looking for improvement with the customers/guests in mind. One can’t go wrong by booking at least a week, recommend 7-10 days, at Oasis Resort. Guarantee you will be planning your next trip there by mid stay!

The best recommendation is it was our “third visit”! The staff is excellent—friendly and service oriented. Kelly & Simon manage the property. They keep it running flawlessly and are so welcoming. The food is delicious and you order off a menu — no buffets. Also tables for 2 in a beautiful setting overlooking the ocean. As for the diving, Sandy our dive master was fabulous. Safety is the top priority with few divers to a dive master. Plus, a multitude of dive sites within a 10 minute boat ride. Gorgeous wall dives and the most turtles you will ever see anywhere. Obviously we love this very special resort!

We were at oasis for nine days. What a wonderful place and absolutely fantastic diving. Every part of our experience from the pick up at the airport in Manado, to the accommodations, food and diving all were exceptional. The diving was easy with a tremendous variety of fish and sea creatures. In particular, our dive guide, Feibe, made our dives, really enjoyable and insightful. The dive boats were really comfortable (toilets onboard!) and most of the dive sites were very close. We were lucky enough to be at the resort when the owners, Elaine and Simon, were there. Great folks that have created a wonderful resort. The entire staff along with GM, Kelly, was warm and friendly and ever helpful in making our stay enjoyable and relaxing. There are several villages on the island and a paved path/road connects them. The path makes for a nice place to walk and see the island by foot.
