It doesn’t look like much from the outside and the lobby isn’t much, but the Kimpton Wilshire is a really nice hotel. Our room was decent sized and quiet. Love the rooftop pool, it’s such a nice place to have breakfast, and our server was friendly and fast. Also enjoyed the cold brew in the coffee room. Big shoutout to Carolina at the front desk who was so helpful about a couple of special requests, as well as Luis from Signature Parking, which handles the valet service. Only gave it four stars as the pool got really crowded with people who were not hotel guests. They showed up early and parked themselves on the lounges all day so we never got to use them. Perhaps they couldn’t aside a few for guests? The music is really loud too, which is too bad as the pool would otherwise be a great place to chill.

They are spacious and light, thanks to their floor to ceiling windows. The location is convenient, walking distance to Rodeo Dr and other main streets and shops in Beverly Hills. Not to mention that the hotel offers free drop-offs within Beverly Hills, in either their iconic Rolls-Royce Phantom, Cadillacs or BMW limousines, a fantastic way of getting around! The rooftop area is ideal, and you mustn’t miss out on visiting it during your stay. Due to the size of the hotel, it being smaller than the others in Beverly Hills, The Peninsula feels more exclusive, is less busy and it enables the staff to pay more attention to individual guests. The pool, rooftop, gym and spa are all top-notch facilities. The staff are excellent, the building is beautiful, clean and well maintained, the food at breakfast is all one can ask for and the garden and lobby are full of divine, fragrant flowers. I have been going to this hotel for years, because I have family nearby. This time I found the ”update” cold and user-unfriendly. When I tried to use the pod coffeemaker that is no longer a Keurig-branded machine, I found little in the way of instructions and the coffee overflowed my cup into the tray below. There were no printed directions for anything, just one of those QR codes that's useful for seniors like me that don't use a smart device. The pillows were hard, rather than firm. There was no clock in the room, let alone an alarm clock. The shower door was difficult to open from the inside. The toilet seat is VERY low. I believe that this property and perhaps the whole chain has deserted its loyal Boomer clientele in favor of pandering to younger clients. We Boomers are the generation with money to spend on leisure travel, and we should not be disrespected as this hotel has.

I am writing this letter to share my observations and experiences at your hotel. Overall, I think the hotel's environment is average, and the cleanliness is acceptable. However, I would like to suggest some improvements to the overall atmosphere of the hotel, particularly regarding the condition of the indoor facilities.
Firstly, the cleanliness of the hotel has left a good impression on me. The rooms and public areas are quite clean, which was an important consideration for me during my stay. I appreciate the efforts of the hotel team in this regard.
However, I must point out that the indoor facilities of the hotel appear somewhat outdated. The furniture and equipment in the rooms seem to have been in use for a long time, and some of them are even worn out. This gives me a sense of antiquity and has affected my overall experience during my stay.
Therefore, I sincerely recommend that the hotel management consider updating and maintaining the indoor facilities. This can enhance the overall image of the hotel and provide guests with a more comfortable and enjoyable stay.
Once again, thank you for your assistance and service during my stay at the hotel. I hope my feedback will be helpful in improving the hotel.

The K mattress & pillows were very comfortable. The room was very spacious & quiet. Cynthia from front desk was very accommodating for my request & had a great stay. The staff were friendly, courteous & efficient. The gated covered parking came in handy for the storm & I appreciate they have 3 well functioning luggage carts for guest use. Gateway Towne Center is within walking, 1 block to Best Buy, Marshalls, etc.

I was in town for a friend's wedding and decided to book The Tangerine because of its value compared to other Los Angeles hotels, as well as its proximity to the wedding venue. The front desk staff was so friendly and helpful. We were greeted with big smiles every time we entered the lobby and were given great information about the area. Our room was nice and clean when we entered. Our one issue was the air conditioner--we had a little trouble finding the balance between keeping the room cool without running the unit constantly, but honestly, that may have just been user error. The bathroom showed its age a bit, with a crack/hole in the ceiling and a toilet that would continue running after flushing. The bed was comfortable (for a hotel bed) and the sheets were nice and soft. The Tangerine provides free parking for guests, which is a real bonus for LA/California. There are only a few spots at the front of the property which were almost always full during our stay, but there were plenty around the back. The general area of the hotel wasn't overly busy, either, despite there being so many great restaurants and businesses around, which made for a quiet and relaxing stay. A wonderful bonus was the 20% off coupon for Don Cuco's right next door. If you love Mexican food, Don Cuco's is a must try spot! Great food and ambiance. I would definitely stay here again on a future trip to Los Angeles.

PPengguna TetamuComfortable place with decent breakfast but very little soundproofing is noticeable because of crying babies, dogs, frequent sirens etc. Neighborhood is near shopping area which is nice but watch out for aggressive homeless and young, territorial, vaping men in adidas tracksuits. Good view and friendly staff as well but not really a business hotel.

Cons: Weird clicking noise all night, trash not emptied, stained chaise, no bag for ice bucket, dirty soap tray
Our room looked and smelled clean, but there was a pink stain on the chaise lounge, the soap tray had a brown circle of gunk on it, and there was still trash in one of the trash cans. I was not about to use an ice bucket with no bag in it, but at least the plastic cups were individually wrapped. The mini fridge was nice and cold, keeping our ice cream pints frozen and chilling out complimentary Kirkland water bottles in 20 mins.
Even though I closed the shower curtain fully, and made sure the magnets were properly attached on the inside of the tub, there was a pool of water on the floor when I came out.
The bed was decently comfortable and springy, but the bedspread was very thin and the ”fitted sheet” was a flat sheet that was too small for the bed, not covering the bottom 2 inches on the top.
The continental breakfast was full of somehow-dry danishes and chocolate filled crepes. Coffee was meh, cereal options were good, but I didn't see milk. I did see yogurt, but it didn't feel the least bit cold.

PPengguna TetamuThe hotel room and the location were as advertised, nevertheless we didn't feel the service was as expected and had the feelin the manager treats his customers with suspicion. We reserved a one bedroom suite with a King-size bed and a sofa bed for 4 people (myself, my wife and 2 children). This is the first time I've seen a hotel only leaves one pillow for the sofa bed. We requested extra pillows on our first night and were denied them because ”they didn't have enough of them” (first time I've heard such a thing), then the next day when we went directly to the front desk, we were questioned how many people we had in the room as if our request was because we were sneaking people in. In the end we got the extra pillows, but we were surprised by the initial response. Then when we wanted to check out, the person in charge of the front desk seemed annoyed that we didn't just drop off the keys but also wanted a receipt. He also didn't act cooperative when we requested to check the credit card number of the voucher. Only when we got annoyed was that he started to be more cooperative. Frankly, I am surprised that a front desk clerk does not know some of his customers are international travelers and want to review all the information because it might be problematic for us to request changes in case of a mistake. We had no other problem with room cleaning and didn't use other facilities. The vending machines did not have sodas, could be an issue of restocking. Overall, while the stay was OK, because of our interactions with the hotel services staff, we would not really recommend it.
