Hotel berhampiran Bell, Burnaby

This hotel is under new ownership and in the process of being renovated, I was assess that all the stories you hear about it previously are true, it seems it was very runned down previously. The room we had was renovated, some areas looked like paint over stuff that should have been replaced. The Astro turf on the balcony was interesting. The room itself was clean and the beds were comfortable. When I asked for an additional pillow it seemed like a big deal although they did find one. The hotel is decent now but I could see it declining very fast if not properly maintained

THE GOOD: CCQ -- Clean, Comfortable, Quiet. Even the beds surprised me. Despite being firmer than I'm used to, they worked out pretty well. Staff was friendly enough, parking OK. THE BAD: Positively TINY rooms! As for the bathroom, well... I've been in bigger aircraft lavatories. In no way is this place ADA-compliant (no elevator, narrow halls, narrow doors). As for their alleged ”continental breakfast,” the facts were not a good match for the description in the property's guest guide (see photos below). There were no donuts or muffins... Just some half-used loaves of store-bought bread, a bunch of granola bars from Costco (which are, largely, little more than refined sugar), something which wanted to be coffee (and more closely resembled burned hydraulic fluid), and a jug of room-temperature orange juice. THE BOTTOM LINE: If you need a place to stay in an emergency, and nothing better's available, you'll probably do OK with this place. Outside of that, look elsewhere. Even if you end up paying more, look elsewhere!

Room was simple and clean. The unlevel floor going into bathroom could maybe be better marked but we adapted. A portable AC unit was in our room at check in which was good since it was needed. The physical room key took some getting used to (ie not locking automatically). The cable box was precariously set on top of the wall mounted tv and it took some time to get everything hooked up correctly. We had a few minor inconveniences (we stayed multiple days and would have appreciated a place to hang two wet bath towels) but nothing egregious. The lobby snack bar is a diabetic’s nightmare but each morning there were bananas as well.

Thank you for the opportunity to describe my Inn at the Quay experience. I was booked for a day procedure at Royal Columbian Hospital at 6:00AM on Saturday May 20. Because I was travelling from out of town and had to be driven home (as a requirement of the procedure) I elected to travel by train to Vancouver and then New Westminster on the day before, Friday. On Tuesday May 16 I booked a room at your hotel for the night of the night of Friday May 19 for $389.00 ex-taxes. My plan was to take a cab to the Hospital and then my daughter was then going to drive to town to pick me up and drive me home after the procedure on Saturday. After travelling to New Westminster I had time to kill because I called the Inn at the Quay to see if I could get an early check in but was told that you were very busy and that was not possible. The hospital recommends attending with only your care card for security reasons. For this reason I had my BC Care Card and the credit card I used to book the room in my cellular phone case. During my wanders I lost my phone. Fortunately I had a significant amount of cash so I got a cab immediately and attended at your hotel. I explained my situation to the clerk on the desk and she said that she could not check me in without the credit card I used to book the room. I asked her if you would charge that card with the room price if I had not shown up and she agreed that that was the case. When I asked if she could just charge the card and let me stay she said that the situation was different and was against your policy. I questioned her further and she summoned a person form the back office who agreed that the situation was completely different and actually said “Sorry, we can’t help you.” When I suggested cancelling the credit card transaction and paying in cash that suggestion was also turned down. Reason was lost on these two minions that are trained to be slavishly obedient to your rules and policies. I am sure that if you question these two they will agree that I was polite and courteous throughout our encounter. After several attempts at circumventing their indifference I felt that I should leave before I started to get mad. As a competent, attentive and businesslike hotelier I am sure you are aware of the saturation in your market on any given day. If you harken back to May 19 you will recall that all of the other hotels in New Westminster and as far as Port Coquitlam were completely booked. No matter, I was able to avail myself of a comfortable chair in the admitting lobby of the Royal Columbian Hospital from 4:00PM on Friday until 6:00AM the following morning. Except of course when I had to leave the admitting lobby while the janitors polished the floors. Because the Emergency Room lobby was full I was able to meet some of the interesting local street residents that were outside at 2:30AM. Staying for 3 nights. Staff lovely, room fantastic and location perfect, just on the edge of wonderful hiking areas as well as downtown Vancouver. Bar, restaurant, liquor store and general store on or next to the site. Great hotel. Would 100% recommend.

This was perfectly adequate for my one night stay prior to a cruise. The location is easily accessible from the train from the airport and less than a mile from the cruise terminal. It is no frills but clean. I had a shared bathroom which was a concern but it was fine. You share the bathroom with another room and you will hear them in there but, again, it was one night. There was a sink in the room which was good as you didn't need the bathroom for basic teeth brushing, etc. If I was doing an overnight in Vancouver again, I'd go back.

The location was perfect, and the room was quite spacious for the two of us, my teenager son and i, as we were in town for university campus visits. The beds were very comfortable, and the Starbucks in the lobby, and the mosaic restaurant served good food (for lunch). Parking was right down in the basement, and was very convenient. We parked the car there and walked around Robson avenue for shopping. Checkout was also very speedy and done online, without the need to line up.

We always come to this hotel when we want to spend a romantic night. The room interior is modern and pretty. Just sad that this hotel does not provide tooth brushes unless you ask them for it. (So before we head to our room we tell the front desk to give us the toothbrushes). I also booked this hotel on my birthday :) The guy who works at the front desk is very very kind and patient. I totally recommend this hotel

This hotel is truly nice. The driver and I had a difficult time seeing where the hotel entrance was. We had to guess. Very engaging lobby, with a check in that went very smooth. There are plenty of amenities at this hotel. Good attached restaurant. The room was very large, very nice, and very comfortable. Very large bathroom, and nice shower. However. The glaring problem here are the thin walls. Every other guest I spoke to had the same complaint. I could annoyingly hear the people walking around above my room. The housekeeping staff could be heard cleaning several rooms away. The hotel guests could be heard walking around the halls and in their rooms. A small amount of noise is to be expected at hotels, but this is just poor design and cheap building. There was also a distinct smell of vomit throughout the hotel. I am not certain if this was the result of the farm land outside, or intoxicated guests. Probably both. If you are here to gamble and drink, you may not notice any of my issues. If you are hear to sleep and work the next day, you may share my concerns.

Very inviting hotel, front desk staff are very helpful and polite.
