I called and made a booking on short notice after 8:30pm. The staff not only took the call they upgraded me to the best suite for a good price as it was the slow season. I was only expected to stay for the night. The penthouse was perfect, close to the center of town, friendly staff - I ended up staying another two days. I will be making Aloha my preferred place to stay in the future, happy customer.

We almost went overseas to a resort just prior to Christmas m, but with lack of flights, overpriced hotels at last minute & all of the drink poisoning episodes overseas, we felt this was better option! Two days in and it’s bliss. This is my 4th time here. We’ve stayed in a variety of rooms and we are right near the beach this time. The rooms are super cute. The only thing missing is a verandah here - but the bed is comfortable, we love the oversized bath and it’s very luxe like home. The restaurant is the only thing we feel lets it down- the menu could do with a revamp - as you would get bored after a week, but breakfasts are great, and the bar menu is pretty good too. The pools - particularly the adult pool is fantastic. The other pool is stunning at night. The service has been a bit average in the restaurants - waiters tend to stand around and talk to each other, but the staff are very friendly indeed. All in all, a great 4.5-5 star place for an Australian holiday, where you feel like you’ve left the country. The landscapes are stunning and I love the fact you don’t feel overcrowded. If you live nature, this is an amazing place to visit.

NNonna PWhen I booked I called and emailed about a ground floor apartment as I have mobility issues, I was promised ground floor and that there would be a note 'do not move'. Yes we were given ground floor but with steps to access our section, this meant my husband had to cart wheelchair up and down 5 steps and I had to be extra cautious utilising the steps. I contacted the managers who were very apologetic offering any assistance if we needed with wheelchair etc. I did remind that I was promised ground floor due to mobility and was told the areas 1 & 2 were 2 bedroom and the only 1 beds were in stairwell 3 and they were fully booked I'd they weren't they would've give us one. Well in hindsight the promise shouldn't have been made. 5 hours later they offered us an apartment at another accommodation which was disability friendly. The thought of packing and moving 5 hrs in when we'd settled and unpacked was the last thing I could think of. Very kind of them and they tried their best but maybe juggling too many promises is their downfall. We had to move their carpet square around as upturned corners were trip hazards. Yes noise issues as others have said can hear toilet flush upstairs, and unwelcome stomping about at 2am. There was a noise issue at 7pm that first night of a group singing, yelling and stomping about. We made contact with manager again who quickly looked into it. Was told apparently a few families who booked accommodation meeting in one apartment deciding where to go for dinner.....that was some loud excitable decision making! Loud enough for us to make a noise complaint. Position is great, walk (and wheelchair) to everything, shops, cafes, beach and restaurants. I stayed there 4 years ago but when I was more mobile a nd would probably stay again but would be clear with my needs and call again pri.or to check-in to ensure all good.. Clean other than sand under that mat we had to move. And the fridge and pantry could do with a scrub.

PPengguna TetamuAfter a 14 hour trip on a Greyhound Coach up from Sydney, you can’t believe your eyes when you finally see The Surf House before you. Upon checking in, you’re greeted by seasoned professionals in the art of reception-ism and are given a free drinks voucher for the bar which you take as your permission to paint the town red. Once you defeat the final staircase and claim the treasure of a bed and a good nights rest, you are taken by sweet surprised at the balcony in your room overlooking the Main Street. One trip to Aldi later and you’re demonstrating your chef skills in the hostel kitchen, Gordon Ramsey who? It could be slightly cleaner, but when you’ve stayed in a few hostels you know there’s no such thing as spotless. The housekeeping staff do a good job at keeping the place tidy after hours. Up at the roof top bar you claim your free drink (although there’s only one drink it’s valid for; the house larger) and put your name down for the pool competition. Someone orders a pizza and it looks good so you get one too. After a few more drinks you’re at the beach with a guitar singing Take Me Home, Country Roads while the sun goes down. You borrowed a towel from the hostel reception and you left your shoes behind because it’s Byron Bay. All your friends have to walk a mile back from the beach to their accommodation but you chose the surf house. You’ll be in bed before they’re even half way and you can rent a surfboard in the morning. Why would you want to stay anywhere else?

PPengguna TetamuWe stayed here for two nights, it suited our purpose as just a place to sleep really. Unfortunately the lifts were out of order which wasn't great with our suitcases. The hostel is in a pretty good location, not far from the main street which then leads to the beach. Our room was basic but at least felt clean (we were in a private en suite room). We didn't use the cooking facilities but the rules seemed to be quite well enforced which is encouraging. The pool looked ok but we didn't use it and the sunbeds smelled really bad.

Such a cute little semi-retro vibe makes this simple little motel a really nice experience. The room was small with a double bed (not Queen etc.) but good use made of the space & the decorating made it feel great. Enjoyed lounging in & around the pool and it is an easy walk to restaurants, beach, bottle shop, cafes etc.

PPengguna TetamuGood location, close walk to Tallows Creek and Tallows Beach, nice cabins and friendly staff. But the reason I only gave 3/5 stars is because of the cleanliness of the cabin we stayed in. I could see smudged finger marks on the wall above the kitchen sink, the fridge didn't look like it had been cleaned out, there was broken glass from a bottle on the inside of the front door as you walk in (I almost stepped on it), and there was layers of black mould in the air-conditioning which was situated right above the bed. I spoke with staff about this before we left (by the time we noticed the hygiene issues reception had closed so we had to wait until morning), which I have to say they handled remarkably. They were very apologetic for our experience and they gave us a full refund of our 1 night stay which we were very appreciative of. They thanked us for letting them know and said they will be speaking with their cleaners to get on top of this. I am really hoping that they do.. This is my second stay with Ingenia Holidays in Byron Bay and the first time (back in 2020), the cleanliness wasn't the greatest then either, so something needs to change. Black mould in the cabins anywhere let alone in an air conditioner that blows around the room is a serious health hazard for guests. I'm asthmatic so I was extremely worried to be sleeping in a room with mould. It was disappointing that this happened because Ingenia Holidays is an awesome park, I just hope they stick to their word about getting on top of the cleanliness so no one staying there becomes sick, and so someday maybe we can give them another chance to change our review.

Arrived at Motel only to find (after a frustrating look-around) a pamphlet on one of the Motel doors to head to the Middle Pub in Mullumbimby to check-in and get your Security Key. It can get extremely busy at the Pub and patience is required as it depends how many staff they have on. A sweet young woman was run off her feet serving Patrons as well as checking-in Motel clients. Easy check- in, only took a couple of minuets. Parking can be ‘tight’ on site but plenty of parking out the front of Motel. Ask them about Wifi BEFORE you leave Check-in! I didn’t and spent a while trying to find an ‘info’ folder in the Motel room (they don’t have one) and had to ring them up to ask where the code was for their Free Wifi. Ours was stuck to the main mirror on a very small tab that you could be forgiven was non- important. Check out the photo I have posted. If you zoom, you will be able to make it out on the mirror bottom left… Super impressed with our room. Queen plus single beds…. Main room was clean,tidy and smelling fresh. The only negative I have was the Bathroom is abit dated and unfortunately had mould in the shower stall and on tiles. It didn’t look like the walls were cleaned either. Air-con was good, small T.V, bar fridge nice and cold. Great sleep and key went into Secure Box downstairs when we left.
