Not a 5 star resort. That's not saying it's not a nice resort, because it is, but 5 star resorts have top notch service. First ding, they don't pick you up at the airport, but you can have them set up transportation for you (at your added expense). The Taxi is $75 each way (I checked Uber and it was $55 and the taxi dude matched that price). We were able to catch a travel van on the way there from the airport for $17 a person. We had an "executive suite" which was nice, not their best room but probably in the middle. They never changed the bed sheets in the entire 5 day/4 night stay. They made the bed, but never changed the sheets. They have a well stocked fridge and other goodies for a steep price. The problem is moving their crap out if you actually want to use the refrigerator. We were charged "additional taxes" when we checked out as well. Only like $2-3 a day, but these should have been included in the price. The on-site sushi restaurant was not a good value. They charged us for items we didn't order and watch out for the $4.50 water. Our bill was $200 plus tip for two adults. Each had two margaritas, one appetizer (we had cancled after we told the waiter and he acknowledged, but came anyways) and two entrees. Portions were small, so definitely no "leftovers". The good. The included breakfast is excellent. Take advantage of that, eat a late breakfast (breakfast is over at noon, so be there no later than 11am) and that should tide you over until dinner. The location is great. Close to the marina/downtown but just far enough way that it's an easy walk and you stay out of that busyness. Overall, it's a nice 4 star (at best) resort.

We were upgraded to a one BR. Love the location. Walk to everything. Swimable beach. Staff amazing. Emilio especially took great care of us!!

The hotel was great! It is in a perfect location, walkable to restaurants and shops.
The rooms are lovely and very comfortable. The service was outstanding!

The walking distance to excellent restaurants was great. Prices and food at restaurants on site was disappointing. Disco bar between hotel and ocean was loud and interfered with the view from our room, not all rooms though.

Very close to the beach less than 5 min.. Lots of options to eat on the property or at beach front restaurants. We ate breakfast at The Mango deck and dinner at The office. It got a little noisy but when you close the door to the balcony its alot quieter. We had the most beautiful view of Lands End right from our balcony. I checked out the spa and will be doing the salt water pool, steam room and saunas for $15. here are a couple of things i would bring. They have a Original Nespresso machine in room. They give you 2 pods for your stay. If you want more the are $4 each. buy some and bring them with you. Also i brought our favorite bottle of wine in my chucked bag.....loved sitting on the balcony with my wine 🍷

Great property. Walking distance to all the activities. Very clean. Friendly staff. We had the executive suite, so my daughter slept on the foldable couch in the living room and she mentioned that at night she heard some occasional mechanical noises coming from somewhere in the unit, however my wife and I didn't hear anything from the bedroom. But we never complained about it to the management so no idea what it was and if it's something that could be resolved.

Casa Dorada had lovely, friendly staff that responded quickly, with rooms that were spacious, well appointed and clean. The pool, spa and gym were all great. It was located close enough to walk to attractions but far enough away to be quiet. The beachfront is just steps away.

We stayed for 11 days and overall it was great.
The one thing we didn't like was the wifi quality. The wifi was spotty and the coverage was weak. The cellular data coverage in that area was also spotty (for T-mobile US customers) and so there was no easy mitigation for the spotty resort wifi.

I was a bit skeptical about booking this hotel after reading previous reviews, but I was happy I did because hotel and location was great. Food was okay at the hotel, but you are walking distance to many bars and restaurants which was fabulous.
