凱恩斯中央廣場公寓式酒店，地處市中心，周圍環境相當不錯，距離大型超市（馬路對面）、去庫蘭德原始森林旅行的火車站（步行5分鐘），甚至去看大堡礁的遊輪公司，步行15分鐘，真是方便的不要不要，而且又有廚房，廚俱一應俱全，煮美食、看風景，拍美拍，美不勝收，還想再預訂一次，可能是明年吧…

MMin Ts***The apartment is rather new. Location is the biggest its advantage. Vert close to bus station and restaurants. The whole block of 1/2 bedroom apartments are next to the “hotel”. The check in and out processes were fast without hassle.
During my stay, I found some daily problems that I had to sort out. As the staff at the reception said the apartment is managed by the hotel, however, it is not serviced exactly as the hotel rooms. I prefer to have some information sheet telling some basics solutions.
It was not cleaned up every day. We had the cleaning services for the 4th, 8th morning. I have to ask for refilling such as clean towels, toilet papers, rubbish bin bags, dishwashing tabs, I also need to empty the rubbish or food garbage.
Most disappointing, someone having their food in room and drop them nearby my door daily. As the temperature is hot there and stinky smell was suck.

GGeng TianmingStayed 4+1 nights here. Very bad experiences in the end: my wife’s jacket was lost inside the wardrobe, I had to take taxi from airport to the front desk seeking assistance and told them to urgently help as my flight boarding is half hour later. They shared the room had been occupied by new guests and if there is anything left by us the cleaner should have found it. I said I am in a high rush and why not you staff just escort me to go to the room and take a look. They said they need seek internal approvals and when the senior officer came out, she repeated the same words. All of them simply ignored that I was in rush and blindly asked me to be patient, and then they worked in an over-patient way by keeping me at the front desk area without any certainty. Finally I realized going to miss the air flight and had to leave. Half way back to airport they called my wife saying that they have found the jacket and that I am the wrong party who didn’t patiently wait for them to slowly slowly take their time. What a joke! Isn’t said by them that new guests have moved in and if there is anything left by us they should have found it? So now how did they find it out? And, I am the wrong party? I am supposed to wait for them to take time and miss air flight? What a lousy team! They should have worked as officials in a third-class country, who are good at killing time, twisting words and blaming others, rather than in the front line of a reputable hotel.

PPengguna TetamuWe chose this hotel because it was one of the most inexpensive hotels near the reef terminal and close to other attractions in Cairns. It was a 30 minute walk to the Reef Terminal and 40 minutes to the Botanical Garden. It also has a good selection of restaurants nearby and is a short walk to Rusty's Market and quite a few shops.
The area is very quiet and the bed was comfy enough. The room has a good wall unit which we stored all of our bags in and kept our stuff accessible with some shelves. There is a limited number of plug-ins in the room with two on the desk under the TV and a power bar was underneath the bed. A travel power adapter was used to keep our devices charged. The wifi was weak when we stayed and we felt the shower curtain and lip didn't do a great job keeping the water contained because the floor and bath mat got soaked each time we showered - you could aim the shower head at the wall and angle your body just so but it was tricky to have a good shower here. We did appreciate all the toiletries available in the wall mounted units including hand wash, shaving cream, body lotion, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. The towels were also very soft but never dried out so we had to ask to have them changed on our second day here because the bathroom smelled very damp due to the wetness.
The front desk staff were very kind but they did not have it manned after hours so there are late night check in instructions provided. They also can help arrange and book tours while you are in Cairns. The hotel offered a complimentary breakfast which included bread, a toaster, a pancake machine, cereals, juices, coffee, milk and water. The highlight of the breakfast was the pancake machine and the giant jar of Nutella with a pump attached. You could order a hot breakfast for a little bit more and it was fairly priced for things like sausage, bacon and eggs.
The hotel also has a bar area (open 3-7), heat and eat meals, a vending machine, pool and laundry facilities. There is a microwave available in the bar area and kettles are available in the rooms for hot water. The laundry machines are commercial and quick - it cost 4 AUD to wash and the same price to dry and our laundry was done within 1 hour and 10 minutes. The laundry room also has an iron and ironing board.
The hotel had a good amount of parking and it is about a 10 minute drive from the airport. We felt everything was very convenient during our stay and would recommend it if you are planning to save on a hotel and spend on excursions!

PPHILLIP JAMESThe Mantra Hotel has outstanding location. It is directly in front of the Woolworths supermarket - the best option in central Cairns. It's also virtually opposite (the esplanade side)the lagoon public beachfront swimming pool. Finally it's just a 5 minute walk from Cairns Cruise Terminal, with outstanding day trips to Green Island, Fitzroy Island and the Reef. I booked a sea view room. When you enter the room, you don't see the ocean, but a building across the road. However, the view from the balcony was amazing. The balcony overlooks the main features of lagoon on the sea front. During the day it is great view - the lagoon pools and sea in the background. At night you cannot see the sea (as to be expected) but you have the amazing lagoon lights, which makes it very desirable and even romantic. Our room was at the end of block, which overlooks a shopping mall (no car noise) - looking right from the balcony is the lagoon view and looking left is a mountain view. However, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm the sun comes directly into the balcony area, which means it unusable until sun sets. Of course if you don't mind baking in the sun on the balcony, this is not really a concern. The room itself is pretty basic. The mini fridge of OK and TV has domestic channels only - no cable TV for BBC/CNN. The bathroom is of a good size. There is combined shower & bath. However, when using the shower, it can slightly flood this bathroom. A shower curtain may be desirable because the glass panel is not sufficient enough. At $225 per night this hotel was not cheap and you can better deals by coming in the off-season OR going bit further down the esplanade, and choosing another hotel. The Mantra does have its own pool and it is wonderfully heated, with normal deck chairs you would expect at 4 star hotel. However, the pool gets very little natural sunlight, because it of its location between 2 buildings. Overall, the hotel has amazing location, and it is still recommended, despite the shortcomings mentioned. My final note: When we checked in, I was impressed with the level of service provided by the receptionist. She had a very welcome attitude and a wonderful personality.

PPengguna Tetamu11月末、雨季の初めに当たってしまい、土砂降りの中朝の4時に着いてしまって6時くらいにホテルに着き、ホテルが閉まっててどうしようと思っていたら、ホテルにいた滞在者に開けてもらった。
ホテルの中は清潔感あり、とてもリラックス出来た。
アーリーチェックインもしてくれて、対応もとても良かったけど、アメニティーは、ほとんどなく、固形の石鹸とシャンプー、リンスの小さいのが一つ。
7日間までは、タオルのチェンジもアメニティーの追加もなし…
夏でムシムシしてるのになと思いながら、オーストラリアは、ほとんどタオルチェンジがないから（水不足とか資源を守る為）仕方ないと思った。
ロケーションは、メインの所から10分くらいだからと思っていたけど、ベビーカー連れては、中々遠かった。
ホテルの人の対応や清潔感を含めると、まー良かったと思う。

PPengguna TetamuThe manager of the property is friendly and welcoming. The apartment is spacious.
However, I have to say the apartment is bit of disappointing. I understand the weather during the time is humid and wet due to raining. But there is cockroaches in the bedroom and ants on the bed. So maybe need to do some pest control before opening to guest? Also the room is not bright and is bit dark all the time. Moreover the bed sheets is bit of dirty as well. Toilet is clean which not an issue, but it is bit old and wardrobe is old as some places is broken need to upgrade or fix. Usually because we have kids, even it is not 5 star hotel or anything but at least I think clean and tidy is the very important thing for the accommodation.
It is also bit of misleading on the advertisement because overall I do not think it should count as 4 star apartment OR it needs to put the correct photos for which room is related to.
Also, this is not the walking distance to the city central and you need to have a car for more convenience otherwise you need to take taxi or other transport; so please be aware of.

The best way to describe it is imagine if a problematic 60 year old man opened a hostel with a nightclub underneath, and all the social activities were designed with other problematic 60 year old men in mind. They don't seem to do any sort of gender balancing in the mixed dorm, one girl checked into my room in the middle of the night, because she was put in a mixed dorms with only men over 50. The social activities are old fashioned but not in a good way, I'm talking wet t shirt contests, pole dancing competitions, jelly wrestling. But honestly this hostel gave most of the girls staying here the ick so we ended up having movie nights on the girls floor, going to the market and Esplanade together and to the free gym. I actually had a good time, ironically. The facilities at this hostel are really good to be fair, the dorms were clean, they all had air conditioning and balconies (unfortunately you are not able to control the temperature of the air conditioning or turn it off when it is cold outside), they had large well equipped kitchens, a pool and a free gym. Even the nightclub was a good venue, but the social activities are like something out of the Wolf Of Wall Street. If they are going to be a sleazy venue they could at least hire Magic Mike dancers. But honestly they just need to get a new entertainment manager and this place would be fine. Location is alright, about a twenty minute walk to the Esplanade.

They charge you $3 for a small bottle of water which they should give it to you for free, nothing wrong with the tap water. Restaurant out front was good also. Free wifi, works well.

PPengguna TetamuThis was my second time staying at this hotel. The first was a much better experience. It seems it all depends on the room. This time we got room 101, on the corner of the building and next to the entrance gate and more importantly, next to a street intersection. It was quite noisy all night as trucks and busses accelerate from the intersection. I asked the desk clerk when we checked in if we could have a different room and he refused, even though other rooms were available. I couldn't quite figure out his reasoning. Anyway, this room also sufferers from a very weak air conditioner and is a little smaller than the last room we got (room 119). Basically, the hotel is fine, but your experience may differ based on the specific room.
