Hotel berhampiran Cuevas de l'Alzinaret, Cala de Sant Vicenc

I booked this hotel after seeing the fantastic reviews. It now my impression that those writing the 5 star reviews have never stayed there or have never stayed in a 4 start hotel ever . First impressions were great with the receptionist offering us champagne however it went all down hill after that . First issue was we were told that our room was not ready and we should go for a walk whilst it was being prepared that was at 2 pm , check out is at 11 am even a Butlins room after a stag weekend does not take that long to get ready . After a 45 minute walk we went to see if the room was ready and were told it was . Our expectations we still high after being being told we would have a free mini bar etc this was short lived once we were led to our room where the porter a term I use loosely pointed upstairs . Ahead of us was a set of stairs with a banister that has never seen a lick of paint since it was first varnished in 1980 ,on opening the door to our room this outdated theme continued with terrible furniture a rusty fridge and a bedroom that resembled a prison cell the only serving grace was the bathroom which was not that bad . However no mini bar a pointless 2 hob electric cooker I say pointless as there was nothing to cook in even if you wanted to no kettle and even if there was there was nowhere near to plug one in . The main pool could do with a clean as there was a lot of fall out from the surrounding trees I certainly would not like to visit during high season as the sun beds are packed in so tight you would be rubbing shoulders with the person next to you . It has to be said the surrounding areas are very clean and the maids do a great job despite the rooms being outdated they are spotlessly clean . We only booked breakfast which was very good with plenty of choice and open long enough so that there is no mad rush . The staff were fantastic and were a credit to Iberostar the entertainment team also did an excellent job . In summary I would not recommend this hotel to anyone expecting a 4 star experience and in my opinion should be downgraded to a 3 unless some serious investment is made in updating the rooms the has put me off from ever staying in a Iberostar hotel again .

We took a superior room which opened onto the placa and found it comfortable enough. Don't let anyone flush the loo while you're having a shower though - the water became scalding hot. We loved the surroundings of Lluc, so serene and beautiful. A miracle wasn't needed for the monks to decide it was a good place to live. The food was plain and adequate. We wished they could they provide a kettle for people who want to make their own coffee for an early start. You can get breakfast food to go, if you ask for it the night before, but not coffee or tea. And in fact the breakfast coffee was pretty bad. They do make espresso but the espresso in the bar was better. However, it doesn't open earlier, in fact later.

Excellent in every way. We live in Palma de Mallorca, so this was a quick weekend getaway for us. From the friendly welcome, to the beautiful room, everything was lovely. The design of the hotel, rooms, common areas, pool , etc. is very well done. The rooms are not huge but have great views of the mountains (208) and the pool area. Lots of quality design touches. Very comfortable bed. Welcome drink was a nice touch. Parking was most welcome in busy Soller, and not incredibly tight like many in Mallorca. Breakfast was also excellent with a big choice of everything, although the one coffee machine was working overtime! A real machine cappucino would have been the chery on the cake! Our shower cubicle did leak a bit, but nothing a bit of silicone wouldn't fix. The position is fantastic, right in the heart of Soller, and the tram even goes by the gardens. We would love to return!

Stayed here recently after a 7 day cruise, great hotel. Rooms were basic although very spacious and clean. The food in the restaurant was very good and of a high quality. The location is excellent, right in the harbour and a steady walk into Cala Millor. The pool area is spacious and clean with plenty of sun beds available all day round with a well run bar and cafe. The best for last, the entertainment …… possibly the best we’ve ever seen and every night, the waiters were superb and right on the ball, get there early for a seat as it’s so popular ! Overall a superb hotel in a great resort, would definitely return !
