What I liked: Good location: you can walk out, one minute and you're right near the intersection of the two main streets of Calais. You can walk to the main area of restaurants in about 8-10 minutes and see quite a bit along the way. The room was spacious. and clean and the front desk man was not only helpful but cheerful too. Also there is a bar at the hotel and breakfast area. I didn't have breakfast this time, but would probably do so next time. The aspects of the hotel I didn't like so much was the fact that the decor of the room is very bland. This probably doesn't matter much if you are just here for a night. Also with one window in the room (in the one I stayed in) there wasn't quite enough light. Depends on your point of view but at 72-75 euros per night I don't call this a 'budget' hotel as some others do. It's more of a mid-range. To me 'budget' means something more like the F1 or the Premiere Classe. A few other tips: Regarding the bar, if you want a 'flat white' or similar, don't make the mistake of ordering 'cafe au lait' as in Calais this actually means just an americano-style long cafe with some UHT milk on the side. What you want is a cafe creme. When I explained what I wanted, the barman/front desk man happily made an espresso coffe with steamed milk. Just around the corner to the left is Au Calice where you can sit outside with a coffee and watch the world go by. Which is always a good thing to do when you're in France. There is also a new 'cool' cafe called the Cafetoria right next to it.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights. The room was lovely.clean and comfortable. We were on the first floor but they had a lift. Due to COVID-19 the bar was not serving drinks for you to sit in the bar area but could take one back to our room. We were greeted by a lovely couple who spoke English as well as french we will definitely stay here again

Malheureusement ce sont pas des chambres climatisées il faisait vraiment très chaud heureusement l’accueil nous a proposé gentiment un ventilateur sans grands résultats

We stayed here on our way to and from Disneyland (7 people in total) Excellent rooms overlooking the sea on the 4th floor. Large clean modern rooms with two double beds. The staff were very efficient and friendly, check in took 2mins. Parked on the road outside the hotel with no problems at all (we didn’t leave anything on show in the van as advised) the area is well lit with cameras. We left two bags in reception by mistake and when we got back the following week, they were safely locked away awaiting our return thanks to the reception staff. Breakfast choice was continental or cooked and both good. Could not fault the service we received, and will always stay here in future. We’ve stayed in a few hotels in Calais but this is by far the best.

This is more like what I expect from an Ibis Styles, the last 2 we stayed in were not quite up to par. Friendly and easy check in. Nice big reception, lounge and breakfast room area. Took our cases up to a nice large bedroom with a king and single bed. Large wet room with plenty of room to shower. Room was overlooking Rue Royal. Good selection at breakfast but I was surprised they had no decaffeinated coffee available.

La ubicación es bastante buena pero me hicieron esperar más de media hora para poder ingresar a mi habitación y era la única en la fila. las instalaciones huelen demasiado a cigarrillo, solo pasé una noche pero tuve que comprar un aromatizante. Todo estaba limpio y el desayuno fue tipo buffet, para mí estuvo bien el desayuno. pero deben solucionar el olor a cigarrillo del edificio ya que para personas que no fuman puede volverse bastante incómodo.
