Hotel berhampiran Fish Creek Provincial Park, Calgary

This hotel exceeded my expectations. I travel a lot for work and quite a bit for pleasure as well and my stay here reminded me of my pre-Covid hotel experiences. Although a little dated, the rooms were well maintained and were exceptionally clean. ALL of the staff were extremely nice and helpful and house keeping tended to your room every day. I attended a conference and the food, drink and snacks offered were all really good. The conference room was well set up and audio and visual was well done. Only thing I would change is to brighten up the conference room a little as it was fairly dark in my opinion. Overall great stay and great place for a conference.

We are in Calgary every couple of months to see my sister's family. They have moved around so this was only the second time staying in the Seton area. A couple months earlier we stayed at the adjoining hotel (Courtyard) with no issues. This time how my folks were with us we decided to get a 2 bedroom suite at the Residence inn. They stayed there last time with no issues and loved it. I went to check in as everyone else grab the luggage and went to park. At first the man at the front counter was very nice and friendly. Then he asked for a vaccine passport which I did not have. His attitude changed towards me very fast. He just kept asking for it like it I was joking. I tried to nicely explain to him I didn't know I needed one to stay at this hotel. When I booked a month earlier there must have been no restrictions. He then continued to be rude about it. So I went and got my dad the only person in our room how was fully vaccinated. He then allowed my dad to check us all in. He then made it very clear that all 4 room keys would not work on the pool or anything else in the hotel and that my dad would have to suffer because of the rest of our decision. he made it very clear we were allowed to walk through the lobby wait for the elevator go to a room and exit the same. That is it!!! My dad was allowed to go great breakfast every morning but that was it. If you are going to have restrictions maybe you should call your our of province guests to let them know the rules. Honestly, we did not feel welcome the whole time from this hotel and we didn't want to sit in the lobby or go to the gym or pool. We were there for 6 days to see my sister's family. Thats it! From talking to my sister and checking government of Calgary's website (at the time) there was no mandate for hotels. On day 2 or 3 we started to notice signs were being put up about its the hotels choice to if they want unvaccinated guests and this hotel was asking for the passport or a PCR test. My lovely sister dropped off a welcome basket to be taken to the room hours before we arrived but they didn't bother. So we picked it up from the front desk. We went straight to our room, it was very nice a little tight and now many places for luggage but we made it work. There was a small kitchen but did have a fully fridge, oven, microwave, coffeemaker and all the dishes you will need as well as a table for 4. The kitchen could use more lighting. There is a small living room with tv but no desk (we asked this before booking how my spouse needed to work), one large bathroom at the entrance, 2 small but good enough size bedrooms one with an ensuite. Both rooms had tvs. One room had a closet so you could keep the luggage in it. But neither room had a dresser or real places to unpack. So the small room had to leave their suitcases in the living room. The room was very clean and the bathrooms had Paul Mitchell products. AC was not working. We booked this hotel due to its proximity to the south Calgary Health campus where I was having surgery. Parking was complimentary. It is a 3 minute walk away. We booked a one bedroom executive suite. I was disappointed with the check in process and the time it took to get to our room. When we arrived there was a lineup and only one person working. After about 10 minutes another person started working which helped but some check ins were taking an excessive amount of time. (I am a Marriott rewards member so I had tried to checkin online but wasn’t able to. I was told it was because I had not stayed there previously. ). About 20 minutes later we were checked in but were not given access to the room yet. We had to wait another 10 to 15 minutes. It was 7 pm —- and we were tired. We just wanted to get to the room but we had to sit in the lobby and wait. My impatience must have showed because eventually we were told that the carpets had been shampooed and they wanted to ensure they were dry before allowing us to our room. I’m not sure why our room wasn’t ready earlier. It’s not like we were trying to check in early. I had indicated on the app when we were arriving and it was actually after my estimated time. Finally we were given our keys. It was at least a half hour of wasted time The room was very nice — vaulted ceilings, 1.5 baths, electric window coverings, nice decor. No balcony though. There were 3 TVs which seemed a little excessive. The bar area was nice with a dishwasher, microwave, fridge, dishes and coffee maker. The shampoo etc. in the bathrooms were nice but those ridiculous little bottles weren’t even full. The coffee maker did not work. The bed was too low. The ventilation system was noisy and woke me up in the night when it cut in. We ordered food from the restaurant downstairs and my husband had breakfast in the restaurant in the morning. It was very good. Great workout room. We didn’t use the pool.

This hotel has been a great experience from checking in to being treated like family by the employees. With access to the Concierge Lounge for Elite members, the breakfast and evening snacks are delicious but the staff including: Leilani, Lena and Noreen will treat you like royalty! They genuinely care about their guests and I highly recommend staying here . If you have a family there are two pools where children can have a blast!

The location was really convenient, very close to Chinook Centre and other attractions. The room was clean and spacious. There is parking around the hotel, as well as underground parking (only accessible with your room card).

Stayed there for Thanksgiving with my family, enjoyed the location as close to c train and downtown was easy to explore the restaurants,wish they had a restaurant open but the service made it, there is Cora 5 min drive if you want fancy breakfast or fast food is just round the corner. Wil stay again humble staff.

I have been to this hotel many times, and after the renovations, it is way better than before. It is in a great location within walking distance to Stampede, 4th Street, downtown, and Chinook Mall. The prices here are incredible, and the rooms are clean.

We stayed at the Grey Eagle Resort hotel for the DreamSonic 2023 event on July 18, 2023. The staff of the hotel was amazing, especially Francis and Stevie. When we checked in early, Stevie and Francis worked hard to try to get us checked in asap. They are so friendly, nice and professional! When we were waiting at the lobby, Stevie checked in with us and offered us free lemonade water and chocolate cookies. Stevie and Francis made us feel at home. The room was also great! The mattress was so comfortable. We enjoyed our stay there so much because of the high-quality customer service and professionalism Francis and Stevie provided and showed. We are definitely want to come back to the Grey Eagle Hotel next time in town!
