DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL on Trip! Front desk staff did not accept prepaid checkin voucher when I arrived. It took several minutes, a call to Trip and much discussion, showing of documents and receipts, until clerk finally called senior staff. Poor training? Maybe. Rude and unpleasant? Absolutely! Apologetic? Definitely not! Last time I will stay here no matter how I book.

I booked the Westin to cover me for a late flight into Calgary. I was able to move my flight to an earlier time but was inside the cancellation time for the hotel, so I stayed the night. The hotel presents well from the exterior, smells of freshness and clean when you walk in, and the lobby kept clean with newer furnishing. I checked in and went directly to the restaurant to get food before they closed. The prices were decent for an airport hotel with limited offerings near the location. I ordered the Mahi and it was cooked properly, tasted wonderful and the sides were just as good. The cheesecake was good but reminded me of the multi-wheel cheesecake you get at Costco. It was good but paled in comparison to the Mahi. The waiter was a younger guy that was engaging, had stories about working for Marriott, his travels and places he still wants to see. Overall, a great end of the day dining experience. Once I got to the room, it was very nice. With my status and an upgrade coupon, I was able to get an upgrade to a suite that had a nice, large shower and tub in the suite. There was limited noise from outside to interfere with sleep. The bed is the typical Marriott set up providing a good nights sleep. The TV was a nice size and the controls for lights and heat easy to access and use. The following morning, I was up for breakfast. The good experience from the previous night, at the same restaurant, was smashed for breakfast. I arrived to a 'wait to be seated' sign so I waited for 5-7 minutes watching the waitstaff serve and clean tables. There were 3 active tables, 7-10 tables to be cleaned and three waitstaff in the area. Once I was able to get one person’s attention, he wanted me to sit at a table that had not been clean from the previous customer. I found a clean table with no silverware with expectations that the waiter would see I need silverware and bring some to the table. Once I was seated, the waiting continued. Even if they were busy, which they were not, a flyby to say ”I will be there shortly' is expected. After waiting more than 10 minutes, with all of the waitstaff walking in and around me, I held up the menu to get their attention. One said, 'I thought you were taking that table' to the other person’s reply 'no, it's yours'. I ordered but the staff did not write down the order. Before he left, he asked me again what I wanted so I repeated it and said 'it is ok to write it down' but he said he was good. I handed over my free breakfast coupon before he left. When he brought the coffee, he confirmed the order and had it wrong. Third repeat of the correct order to the waiter and the food still came to me wrong and I had to retrieve my own silverware so I could eat. I had already waited 20+ minutes on getting food so I ate what they brought to me. What was prepared was good but not what I ordered. We stayed for 3 nights & had a hassle-free experience. It is best to include the breakfast buffet in your booking, the service was wonderful! The location is in downtown so it’s accessible.

Our flight departing Calgary was cancelled for 24 hours so we were put up in this hotel by the airline. The staff was pleasant and accommodating, special shout out to Stacey in the lounge who worked so hard to make sure everyone whose flight was cancelled was fed and full of drinks! Also special shout out to the chef that night, he was alone and still managed to get all the delicious food out in a timely manner! These two really stepped up and made our rather gloomy stay much more enjoyable! The rooms were clean and comfortable, big soft pillows on the beds and you could control your own room temperature. The front desk staff also accommodated a late check out for us as we had so much time to waste the next day. Thank you to the staff, you’ve really worked hard to turn our trip around!

The Hotel is about 10 minutes from the Hotel, Close enough to take a walk and pick up some fast food. They have a famous restaurant that is located a 5 minute walk from the hotel called Jollibee's. Amazing chicken, The staff is very friendly and has everything you need in your stay. Nice rooms, comfortable beds, coffee maker and a number of bathroom amenities. The pool is warm and the jacuzzi is hot. A great way to relax your body. Only a ten minute drive from the airport to the hotel and a 5 minute drive to stores and shops I definitely would stay at this Hotel agian.

The hostel is a good base for exploring the local area is right next to a large grocery store, train station and only 10 minutes walk to the saddle dome. We especially loved the little library area upstairs - it was great to have somewhere quiet to chill in the evenings. The free breakfast is great also we really appreciated the tea, coffee, oil & seasonings provided by the hostel. In the rooms there was limited plug sockets meaning that some people had to leave their phones the opposite the room which isn't great for those setting early morning alarms etc. Also in the women showers there was no doors/locks only shower curtains which didn't feel the most secure for privacy.

Amazing service, great room and great location would definitely recommend for anyone. One of the best in downtown Calgary.
