Ulasan Econo Lodge Motel Village

Nice staff and great breakfast with pancakes, fruits, eggs! Rug smells a bit but clean in general. About 10 minutes ride to downtown! Will be back if I visit Calgary in the future.

This motel is not Econo Lodge in & suites university. Which we stayed also, and was much better than this one (econo lodge motel village). The room was small and the bathroom smelled unpleasant. The smell came from the shower curtain, which touches the bath tub water. When taking a shower, the water doesn't drain as fast so your feet end up soaking in that water along with the smelly fabric shower curtain. Also, the bath was weirdly higher than the ground so be very careful when getting in. During our stay, there were several bugs that found their way into our room during the night (Mosquitos, flies). The buzzing sound prevented us to sleep so we had to kill the bugs and go back to sleep each time. We also had problems with our room key, we had them replaced several times and you have to slide the card quite a few times before it unlocks. I think it's loose and you need to get the exact right angle, which is annoying when you have your hands full. I recommend the other econolodge situated behind this one. The staffs here are very friendly. For breakfast, they offered coffee, tea but without lids. There's bread and juice served in a solocup (but u can just use the coffee cup). There were muffins. If you have allergies, I suggest you to bring your own food. The price for this motel vs the other econolodge were the same. We try to avoid staying at the same place for our whole trip in case we don't like our room but we ended regretting not booking the other econolodge for our entire trip.

Booking on site said no pets allowed when got there.. pets were everywhere and was asked if I had a pet because a pet room was booked.

All in all this motel was exactly what I expected. It was fairly clean and the beds were super comfy. There was a slightly off putting odour in the lobby area but the room was fine. Lots of things to see and do in the immediate vicinity. I was glad that the neighbouring Denny’s offered a discount on breakfast for motel guests because the complimentary one offered was a bit lacklustre and the vending machines on our floor did not work. The staff were very friendly and accommodating though, and made the whole process incredibly easy. Happy with my stay.

People often have expectations for a 5 star hotel, for budget hotels. Be reasonable, people. You get what you pay for! I stayed here, 3 nights. I had NO issues. I got everything I needed, including a simple breakfast. It was clean, had everything I needed, zero complaints. I would definitely stay here again. Again, people need to stop paying for low budget things, and then asking them to be 5 star places.

Every thing was on for the price as I was looking for just a place to spend the night and don't spend arm and leg but the amount of footsteps I heard were insane.  Didn't call the reception as I was so tired. Other than that it was fine. Did the purpose.

Service is good. Breakfast options are good. Rooms have balconies which is another positive thing.

Horrible customer service from Paul at the front desk. Seemed to go out of his way to be obstructive and unhelpful and also appeared to take great delight in being as unhelpful as possible. Went on about “hotel policy” but when I checked he was just making it up as he went along. Awful.

The breakfast items were decent. But the rooms, beds, beddings were shabby. There was a smell in the hallway and the rooms, that felt unclean.

Normal hotel. Just close to main road. Easy to access
