Along River Ridge

Six of us took over the lower floor, with its three double rooms, and very much enjoyed our stay. Highlights were the excellent facilities, and the stunning view over the Bow River. The layout and decor is somewhat individual, and comfortable rather than luxurious, but if we’d wanted characterless international business standard rooms, we’d have booked at one of the various chain hotels available in Calgary. The kitchen was well-equipped, sitting areas and beds comfortable (the latter complete with teddy bears), and the pool table and board games were used by the younger members of the party. It was all clean. The entry arrangements worked well. If the weather hadn’t been good enough to sit outside, we would really have appreciated the long breakfast bar with views out across the river. We thought the outside was rather special; the veranda area has a dining table in the shade/under cover, with a hot tub and gas barbecue (all of which we used). It was great to sit out in the back garden, on the banks of the river, sitting in wooden armchairs and the swinging seat, watching the sun set. We’ve read a few poor reviews, but that has simply not been our experience. We’d be very happy to recommend Along River Ridge, and to book again if we returned to Calgary. And keeping fingers crossed that we get the deposit back!

I requested a refund from this business because of the mold in the jet tub, which I have photos of , as well as the issues with the fireplace and bed being so low quality. Then the customer service from the owner themselves has left me with no refund and they won’t even reply to me. I requested at first to have an 80$ refund from the 185$ night stay. They refused and have since just ignored me as a customer taking my money for services I couldn’t even use …. This was for my anniversary and it was completely ruined. You do not have access to contact anyone and they will not talk on the phone …. They will leave their customers unsatisfied and disappointed….. I am still looking for a complete full refund and they refuse to give me anything. Having owners who don’t care about their clients, don’t seem to care much about their business.

My stay, here was completely unsatisfactory, upon arrival you have a shared entrance with two other client rooms, and it feels very uncomfortable coming into your suite. It’s also difficult to navigate which room you’re supposed to go to, once, in our sweet, there was supposed to be rose petals around the sweet for our anniversary, and that never happened, then upon filling the Jacuzzi tub and turning on the jets, a bunch of mould came out, pictures added and sent to the company in which they have been reluctant to even communicate with me about any type of Refund as I had requested since my stay was completely unsatisfactory, not only was there mould in the Jacuzzi tub, but also the fireplace did not work, and the bed was so squeaky We couldn’t even sleep on it. I did attempt to contact two people in regards to this , specifically the owner and no one has yet to call me back. They keep on pushing me off and telling me they cannot contact me. They can only talk to me over text which is horrible business practice. I would zero out of zero not recommend this place. After offering me a $40 refund, and me, stating that itwas not satisfactory to me, as I had agreed to pay $100 for the evening, they are now just ignoring me and took my money(180$/night) Really terrible customer service and business practices. The fact that they state on their website that they are a contactless facility for your protection, I feel it’s just a way for them to not have to communicate with their customers properly.

Don’t BEWARE! Photos do not reflect the condition of the property. We didn’t even bring our luggage inside, not worth $240 a night. Originally booked the king suite (on *******) which they “double booked” so they moved us to the Riverview Room. When the check in information arrived I noticed this is actually a room in a 3 bedroom apartment, and that the common space would be shared. At this point we were past the 7 day cancellation policy. I contacted them about other options as this was a girls weekend away, and we needed a private, comfortable space. They offered to move us, at an additional cost, to the “Family Playhouse” a 3 bedroom, main floor suite in Montgomery. Photos are not shown in the gallery on their website, only in the room booking option, quite misleading, as those photos are beautiful, and implies the rest of the spaces would be too. This property is in need of serious upgrades and repairs. Flooring, walls, and furniture were heavly damaged. The bathroom had a moisture issue which resulted in a damp urinal smell. There was no cable or tv options, unless you logged into your own Amazon account. The hot tub, was barely warm, despite attempts to turn it up, it appears the temperature is capped. It also sits on some water damaged plywood sheets and there were no steps to access it. Yard faced a busy street, was noisy and felt highly visible. Communication with the property was fine, but there were 6 charges/refunds on our credit card before they figured it out.

Cozy room with a lovely jet tub! The fireplace was finicky, but was able to get it working (wiring seemed to need work), but no big deal. Noticed the bed was creaky upon arrival, but then later it broke (and I assure you there was no jumpingin the bed or anything else unexpected)! Completely shocking. Messaged the owner via two methods and received zero response. Breakfast was disappointing. Old looking fruit set out, cereal, bread in baggies to toast. We specifically chose a place advertised as a bed and breakfast assuming it would be a nice breakfast.

We stayed here for our Anniversary it was great. The place is very clean and comfortable and quite.

Visting friends in Calgary as part of a week-long road trip from Washington State. Along River Ridge turned up in searches and sounded perfect. We received detailed instructions via email well in advance of our stay. These proved useful as there were a couple things that would have been easy to miss. A bike path runs between the street and driveway, and you need to back out of driveway, so we were very cautious. There were only three parking spaces but on-street parking was plentiful. We were in the King Suite which has a shared kitchen area with the Queen Suite. The kitchen provided everything we needed in that department - mugs, glasses, plates, snacks. They were clear on what to expect for breakfast, so we weren't expecting a hot cooked meal. We had fruit, yogurt and cereal and ate a big lunch when we went out! (try Angel's Cafe...). I had a couple minor questions about the room which were quickly answered through email, so the lack of on-site host was not an issue. The tub was wonderful, the shower had rain head and handheld. Bed was comfortable. Fireplace did not work but I suspect they had gas turned off for summer, so we did not call about it and it did not impact our stay. The fridge in the room has a freezer compartment but it was overdue for defrosting so I could not refreeze our cooler blocks. But since most in-room fridges don't have freezer compartments I let this one slide. Overall, happy to give a big thumbs up.

This place was like stepping into a paradise of relaxation. The jacuzzi was pristine, the water was warm, and the jets were incredibly soothing. It was the perfect way to unwind after a long day of exploring. The host was also super accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed for a fantastic stay. I couldn't recommend it enough! 🌟🏨🛀

A private jacuzzi was the best!!!! Had a great time in a very aesthetic and luxury room. Loved this! If you are looking for a place in Calgary, you should definitely check this out!!! This is a really good place
