Arundel House Hotel

The hotel wasn’t the easiest to find, the parking was down a driveway and they charge £18 per day to park.  I think this is absurd, I have never paid to park when I have booked a hotel.  I requested a room with a shower not a bath.  I did get a ground floor room, but it had a bath with an old shower.  The bathroom looked like it needed an upgrade, it was clean, but the tiles and grout were dirty, the sink plug didn’t work and the toilet creaked when you sat on it.  The hotel inside was ok,  but they were having some work done and the carpet was uneven, I tripped on out a few times.  The music that was in the background was awful and didn’t change in the two days we were there.  The restaurant wasn’t very big, but they did have a conservatory where you could sit and eat.  The food was ok, not a great selection, but quite expensive.  We booked bed and breakfast and was told when we arrived that breakfast was a Continental breakfast, not a cooked breakfast that we were expecting.  We could order a cooked breakfast but at an additional cost.  The meal was basic, if you wanted vegetables, that was extra, so not what we were expecting of a good hotel.

The traditional style hotel is nice and the location is good. You can walkable all the city area and park,opposite hotel, is lovely summer time.  Because of summer, the hotel is traditional style and no air condition, so it’s very hot inside the room.  Continental breakfast is nice and Croissant is tasty.

I was more satisfied with my room on the first night of my stay. The new room felt somewhat damp, there was no elevator access, and the alarm noise woke me up. The hotel staff were kind, professional, and respectful, but I think the conditions and quality of the rooms vary. Thank you again for the cooperation and assistance of the hotel staff.

Cambridge is a university town north of London with lots yo see and do though yoo many tourists to my taste. Highlight of my stay was a bisit to the Fitzwilliam museum - the Egyptian, Greek and Roman galleries ate unforgettable!

Service good. Enjoyed breakfast and it being available from 7am. Appreciated location and view across to river and easy walking to parks towards Cambridge centre.

This was my second stay at the hotel in a single room 114. I decided to stay again as it was very good value and a fairy short walk into Cambridge. I had a different single room than before and it was Ok. It had a decent shower and a comfortable bed. I was very cosy. The room had T and coffee facilities, and a T pot that I greatly appreciated during my last stay. I had a better view in this single room which was nice. It is a short walk to the shops, bus stop and the museums. As I was visiting cultural venues it’s a great positioned hotel not far from The Cambridge Museum and the Castle. I really liked staying in this hotel. I would definitely stay here again. The breakfast was very good value with really good ham, fresh fruit and yoghurts, nice muffins ext. there is plenty of spaces available to relax in the hotel. If you like 90s retro the spaces are great! The staff were very helpful and I stowed luggage so that I could visit Cambridge. It’s a great value hotel for solo travellers so please keep a good price for us! A very good stay here I will be back. The hotel is ideally located on the river a short walk from all the tourist attractions. The furnishings are a little dated but the staff were all super friendly.?

This is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at in the UK, much better than other £100 rooms in other cities. The environment is excellent. It is located right opposite the river where we could walk around, and there was a beautiful backyard where guests could sit and enjoy food and drinks. The breakfast they offered was very nice, with plenty of choices. It was very peaceful and enjoyable just spending the morning there; you can really feel how a perfect morning should start in Cambridge. The staff was also very helpful. They carried my luggage up and down the stairs during check‑in and check‑out. As for the location, it is just a few hundred metres away from the River Cam and other viewpoints, most of which you can reach on foot. Other than that, the facility was well equipped, everything works perfectly without any malfunction happened. Overall, it was a great experience staying there, and I would definitely recommend it to others if I get the chance.
