Monnaber NOU Finca Hotel & Spa

A beautiful rural hotel, set in the heart of wonderful, peaceful Majorcan countryside, but still only 25mins drive from beaches. Characterful room, with a lovely big bed, private terrace and a small kitchenette. Good choice at breakfast, including good continental selection, quality orange juice, plenty of fresh fruit and a few hot items (though the hot items weren’t great quality and were usually not hot!). Beautiful terrace for al fresco breakfast. Nice pool area, and never crowded.

We had two rooms, not next to each other, in the separate (VERY far) set of rooms. They had tiny terraces overlooking the horrible little pool. Both rooms had someone walk in and say 'oh, wrong room'. This was not a wrong room, this was someone walking into each room looking to steal, hoping guests were out by the pool. The hotel did not care, and acted as if they had never heard this before. Second night....same thing!

The resort is wonderfully located if you require peace and quiet and nature. The Hotel is a bit rustic in an elegant way. We were in the lower building? Our room had a balcony that looked over the pool and the meadow. It was extremely clean and quiet. Our bed was 2 twins pushed together which was fine. I must say that the restaurant was outstanding. We looked forward to dining there every evening!

A short stay in June - a perfectly adequate hotel for the price. Its slightly dated in a charming old-fashioned Spanish style with lots of dark wood - you won't find super modern or Uber cool but you will find a clean room, comfortable bed & super friendly and helpful staff. There are two parts to the hotel & upon arrival it's initially confusing as to where to drive to check in. The entrance is impressive but no signs saying which direction to drive & where to park or even where reception is! However all forgotten once you are in your room, and you can appreciate the tranquility & spaciousness of the place. We were not staying in the main hotel, but in the 'other bit' (I don't know what it was called). Please don't for a moment I think that this is inferior to the main hotel, our upstairs room was spacious with a separate seating area leading onto a balcony with two chairs and table, which overlooked the large pool and countryside beyond. The super king bed had a memoryfoam mattress and two pillows each – one being a long bolster & the other a scatter cushion size. My top tip - if you are fussy about pillows, you might want to take your own. The bathroom had a bath with shower over – perfectly adequate and clean with plenty of hot water (the surrounding farm land has their own solar panels ). Being an eco-hotel, they issue you with two large towels each – one for the bathroom and a yellow one for the pool. This is actually a really good idea and saves on a huge amount of laundry (having recently stayed in a very (expensive) upmarket hotel in Menorca where guests liberally helped themselves to pool towels, the caution exercised at Monnaber Nou was refreshing). The surroundings of the hotel are farmland, so expect to hear sheep bleating. You can also hear neighbouring peacocks! It was a very peaceful stay, and we very much enjoyed the large pool and sunbeds. Breakfast at €10. each was plentiful with lots of choice. You can choose to eat breakfast at either venue in the hotel, but we preferred the breakfast at our little annexe, the chap in charge was charming. Overall, a great day, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend but you do need a car!

We booked Monnaber through Rural Hotels Mallorca and Henrik recommended the rural spa. My daughter and I were here for two nights in April 2024 and it blew us away. Our comfortable room opened out onto the pool where we spent many happy hours. The views were spectacular, the food was delicious. A special thank you to Luca and Carmen for such personalised service - nothing was too much trouble and they encouraged my daughter with her Spanish. Thanks also to the chef who went to extra lengths to create egg-free desserts so she didn’t have to miss out. Wonderful people, wonderful place. A highlight of our Mallorca road trip.

The Monnaber Nou was recommended to my wife and by friends who live close by, so our expectations on arrival were running high! Thankfully we were not to be disappointed as, from the moment we arrived (to a warm welcome from Francisco) our stay was blissfully, relaxing. Our stay began with a light, lunch and glass of fizz on the picture-perfect terrace, which overlooks quite stunning and tranquil Campanet countryside views. The privileged location represents a big part of the experience here. This was followed by a stroll round the expansive and very impressive grounds of the estate, and it’s only then that you realise the amount of effort that goes into ensuring that this multi-generational family estate is maintained and managed to the highest standards, so that guests can sample life inside an authentic, traditional finca. The elegant manor house, adjoining accommodations and the 300 acres of agricultural estates have been honestly and sympathetically refurbished to ensure that the rustic rich heritage of past times has been captured at a time when most hotels are hell-bent at modernisation at all costs. The restaurant has similarly rustic furnishings, it’s sitting rooms, with period furnishings and massive wood burning fires. All of which were surpassed by the wonderful Malloquin cuisine and accompanying carefully selected wine selection presented to us in the restaurant itself. A delicious meal was served with pride and care by Matthias and Ricardo.What stood out was the fact that so much of the produce being served is organically grown or raised on the estate itself. Unlike one or two previous reviews, we found the breakfast to be very adequate, again with many ingredients grown either on the estate or from local producers. I suspect that anyone dissatisfied with their stay may have not done their research properly and expected a stereotypical Sheraton-chain-like experience, rather than the rustic charm of an authentic Mallorquin finca stay. These are very different requirements, so be clear what you are looking for. If it is the latter, you have found the holy grail! Disfrutas! 😀
