I booked the Pyramid - Ocean Front room with two other couples based on the online reviews and the fancy brochure I perused online and I wish I could give it 5 stars. To begin with, I booked the Ocean Front room as this was supposed to be an adult-only block of rooms, yet they were not -- there were families with children in this block of hotel rooms, which was quite annoying as I was charged more for choosing the ocean front - adult-only room. Having to go up a set of stairs before reaching the elevators that would take us to our hotel room -- with luggage, mind you, was not fun at all. A huge design flaw. Check-in was fairly quick because we booked the rooms with the black wristband and so that was okay--we avoided a long line. The rooms were clean but the two bathrooms were extremely dated--not at all what you see in the pictures. The pillows were awesome and the bed was comfy enough. The alcoholic beverages were awful, awful, awful. They were extremely watered down and quite frankly a huge disappointment. The choices were extremely limited and what they offered was not good at all--not even the margaritas. The food was okay at the two buffet halls that we frequented----and as with every other review--we couldn't get a reservation at Careyes or Benazuza the nicer restaurants on the property--as they were booked well in advance. The Italian restaurant--La Trattoria was horrible--the food was undercooked and flavorless. We ended up leaving the restaurant and going to eat at the buffet hall--which is where ate for the rest of our stay. There's a lot of walking and a lot of little bridges throughout the property so wear comfortable shoes. The pool was nice and clean, but there wasn't really an adults-only area. We had no trouble finding lounge chairs and if you sit away from the swim-up bar, they do have poolside servers offering drinks--but again, watered-down versions of any alcoholic beverage requested. To get to the beach get ready to go down a huge set of stairs -- the water was very choppy, but if you like the waves like I do, then you'll definitely enjoy the beautiful blue-green water. If you booked your stay with JetBlue Vacations --as we did -- and you added the free transportation (Insider Experience) be sure to schedule your departure well in advance (3 days) or you will have to pay for a taxi to take you to the airport because they will not pick you up nor answer their phone. Also, have your info handy when you arrive at their bus/taxi pick-up location as you're going to need it to even get on the bus to be taken to your hotel. All in all a big disappointment--so I'm glad we only booked a 4-day/3 night mini vacation. We made the best of it and it was nice to get away, but we will definitely not be returning to this property.

Overall this is a decent resort with a good amount of entertainment for a younger crowd. There are lots of options for dining but if you spend your time in the buffet, the options will get a bit repetitive and are lesser in quality. There are different shows and parties each day with a new theme to keep things fresh. The staff are nice but do expect to wait in a line for drinks at most any of the bars. The rooms were clean but are beginning to show a bit of their age. Check in was smooth and checkout was even easier. They do offer Covid testing if that is something that you will need but be sure to book when you arrive as time slots can fill up quickly. Overall, the strong points of this hotel are the massive and beautiful pool, a long and well maintained beach, many options for dining, and a fun and active atmosphere.

Worst view I’ve had from my balcony-just white brick wall! Bathroom stunk of sewerage so bad one day could really use it. Had to get up 730am to get a sunbed and still very few left then!!! Not enough beds round pool area. Very packed and loud on the evenings and just karaoke and disco after 10pm! Not worth the money I paid

The best part of this trip was the staff. My family was always waking up early so we could catch the fun activities, like beach volleyball. There were many super fun staff members including Roberto, Jose, and others led volleyball multiple times making it extra fun! Not only was the entertainment staff super nice, but others who worked at bars, restaurants, and the cafe. Hector from the Coco Cafe was super personable, funny, and helpful! He was super cheerful and seemed genuinely happy to be helping us out. The bartenders by the adult pool were great, Damaris and Enrique made the best drinks and were jumping at the opportunity to get my family anything! There were many others who made my family’s vacation awesome.

Esteban at the teppanyaki table was super entertaining and made a delicious meal for my family ! Pool entertainment was amazing! Evening entertainment was amazing. Negative side was the check in process to the resort. Construction was LOUD! Wedding 2 nights in a row were very loud!

Aside from the Brazilian restaurant the food was awful. Like everyone visiting the resort who we met was talking about how bad the food was. I mean, really really bad! We were told the Italian restaurant, Da Vinci, was the best… the pasta was overcooked and the appetizer on the members menu was terrible. The rest of the food was just ok. The positives: the staff was friendly. The resort was very clean and well maintained. We enjoyed the activities at the main pool. The view from our room was great. Jimmy and Lizette at the Brazilian restaurant were incredible! Jimmy has the most energizing personality and really loves working there! Lizette is so kind and honest. We really enjoyed having them serve us. Another negative was that there was construction in the room next to us and across the hall from us and I believe above us as well. Every day beginning at 9:30 the construction would begin. Luckily we are not late sleepers and didn’t come back to the room for naps, but it was frustrating to not have the option to sleep in and rest in the room. But really, unless there is a huge improvement in the restaurants we will probably not stay there again. Yes, we became members, but will probably just give our vacations at the Wyndham Grand to friends or family. We got the membership for the deals at other resorts nationwide.

I absolutely had a wonderful time on my vacation. The building and grounds are beautiful and the artwork is exquisite. I enjoyed both Katia's warm smile and generosity as well as the other woman who speaks english, but I didn't catch her name. I really loved speaking with her as she has a very strong and kind spirit. I noticed throughout my stay that there is 24hr security on site as I get up randomly throughout the night. When the AC stopped working in my room I was offered a different room with working AC, but I was comfortable in my suite and the night air was good enough to keep me cool until the next morning when they fixed it. I felt very welcomed, safe, and appreciated. They get 5 stars from me.

We love this hotel and especially thanking to the staff and Rocio Escovar for making our stay extra comfortable and feel us very welcome! Thanks to her we stayed twice longer than initially planned and later came back for two more nights . Ocean is beautiful. Security is good , Argentinian restaurant food and service super good . Small things we didn't like was that pool works only till 22:00 which is to us very short as we like to have a swim befor sleep and adults pool only could work till 12. Would be perfect . Also kids in a pool for adults only - need to be more strict . All other was good .
