Very family orientated and friendly resort with a lively atmosphere. Small and cozy resort with lots of nice animals about on the premises.

When we arrived we were very sceptical having read some of the reviews, but you get what you pay for and our experience was very good. Check in was straight forward. The grounds are lovely, pools are also lovely and clean. The beach is a dream with beautiful white soft sand and crystal clear water. The restaurant was clean and the food was good. Alot of variety for different tastes. Im not a lover of mexican food and i didnt struggle with anything. The gentleman who deals with the pool towels was lovely, always greeting me with a smile and teaching me how to ask for towels in spanish. One person who will stick out in our minds will be Guadelupe ! What a lovely kind Man. He was always going above and beyond to make sure we were happy and always trying to help. This man is a credit to Dos Playas!

Horrible. Do not stay at this hotel. Outdated, smells like mold, no elevator, no bath tub, no decent towels, bed sheets are bad and even the toilet paper is more like sandpaper. This hotel should never be considered a 3 star hotel by design. It is build with cheap materials, not squared, no ventilation. Horrible, horrible, horrible. Honestly talking it should be demolished to give place to a new hotel. There is nothing good about it. You will regret staying at this hotel.

Minus the outside outdated bldg aestetics. This resort was awesome. The staff were nice and everyone who worked there seemed excited to be there. They smiled through everything and took care of the Patrons. My room was updated with an ocean view. The entertainment staff was awesome Song choices crowd participation. The food was great the drinks all had a strong lemon or lime taste ( hold of on using that) I was expecting more tropical sensation.minus a lot of sugar. Benijo as Freddy Mecury. I'd definitely come back.

Upon arrival, we were greeted, no cold towels or welcome drinks as it was a long ride from the airport to the hotel. After checking in to the hotel, we had to struggle with carrying our items of luggage to our room. Room was clean but very old, and fixtures poorly maintained. The bed sheets were stained as well as towels. Outlets aren't properly placed in sockets and bathroom fixtures were very old. There was a foul smell from the sewage which was right below the room we were in and even when walking outdoors. The refrigerator had no sodas. Food does not encompass continental cuisines mostly cultural Mexican dishes, buffet is the same for breakfast every day. Food was average average. Food delivery services do not work at this location. Not enough entertainment during the night, and most workers do not speak or understand English. The bars are okay, drinks tasted fresh. We had a power outage and the water was gone for an hour before we could shower or have a peaceful relaxing evening. On our way to our room, there was a big hole in the ground with no sign ..our room was flooded with water. Out of nowhere. Water came from beneath the door. Iguanas are everywhere! There were no warning signs about them, for example: beware of or do not feed them or they do no harm. The beach is good the best part.. We have never been to the pool which looked green. The hotel is surrounded by mini-marts and other restaurants which are easily accessible. Karen & an older waiter ( I don't remember his name) were very helpful, pleasant and friendly at the Iguanas restaurant.

Dos playas has been a memorable experience I will never forget. I had a great time with my husband through out the entire stay. They had variety of food and drinks , and everything tasted fantastic. Entertainment was fabulous. My Husband and I were given the opportunity to show case our singing and dancing skills, and we had the chance to play our African songs to cheer the rest of the guests. We made new friends who made us even comfortable with their Spanish language even though we did not understand. So far I have learned few Spanish words that am so proud of. One thing I love about this trip the most is the clarity of your ocean...woooow what a site seeing and breathless moments of my life. I am definitely coming back again next year with my girlfriends. Bonito Diaz was so welcoming personality with smiles all over his face, he was such a sweet heart and an entertainer.

This is a great little budget resort. I'll start out with the things I liked: The room was newly renovated, I liked the set up and how it was decorated. We were in room 3006 so it was a ground level room. The bed was a king and comfortable enough there was always hot water, and the air conditioning worked well once we figured it out. Also, the tv worked and had a few channels to choose from. There is a small fridge that had 2 waters in it, this was replenished daily. The maid did a great job cleaning the room! The resort property is small and has a small adults pool and a smaller kids pool. The property is clean and well maintained. They always had beach towels. The pizza shop was good and made to order. I didn't try the Japanese. The service was good, everyone is friendly. The staff were nice, especially Alexander in the buffet. There is one buffet, and there is enough choice to get by. The food was ok, not going to starve and not 5* food. I loved all the peacocks walking about the resort, they were friendly and would walk right up to you. Check out the little aviary on the property. Although it is a quieter resort, it was lively for what it was. The resort closes at 1030pm. The things that were not my favorite: The beach is very small and has no seating on the beach. The water had a lot of seaweed (no fault of the hotel, just thought worth mentioning). Bring water shoes. I don't usually go to a quiet resort but this one was lively through the day. Check out the yoga it was lovely to do outside with the sounds of the birds. This resort is about 10 min ($20USD) cab ride from downtown Cancun or the hotel zone. I'd say not really walking distance, unless you like long walks in the heat.

The hotel pictures on ******* weren’t 100% accurate. There are some outdated features at the hotel. Keeping this in mind we had a nice time. Good price, great food and seconds to our pools as well as beach. Great experience with staff especially Antonio Torres super friendly and helpful! Great service. Attentive and genuine! All inclusive buffet all day everyday as well as unlimited drinks including alcoholic ones. Peacocks on the property were lovely and the hammock on the balcony was a nice touch. Think more beach camping vibes. Laid back with a bit of walking between dining hall and hotel. The rooms could use some TLC but they were always clean, had AC, tv, hot water, balcony, hammock, patio set, king bed, and water bottles replaced in the mini fridge when room service came by everyday. $40 a day for all you can eat and drink. About $70 a day for the room right on the beach.
