For those who want to spend their time exploring the walled city, this hotel is a 5-10 minute walk away. Parking is provided in two outdoor lots, but spaces are not monitored for those occupying more than one space and getting a space seems to be a matter of luck. Don’t count on the included parking being available or convenient. There is, however, sufficient room for large delivery trucks to arrive at 0200 to deal with laundry. That happens right outside hotel rooms so be prepared for an interrupted sleep. The rooms are spacious, clean and well equipped. The maintenance and housekeeping staff are friendly, helpful and responsive. The breakfast is a disappointment with few choices, uncomfortable seating, and staff that seems unhappy to be there. Do not eat dinner at the hotel. It is overpriced, with mediocre food and the same uncomfortable chairs and unhappy staff. Front desk staff is inconsistent, with some friendly and helpful and others bordering on rude and hostile. There are better choices, I think.

First the positives , hotel is in a great location and is ideal for visiting the castle and it is only a short walk into the town centre. The staff we encountered were very friendly and hard working . The decor is a bit strange with black and orange corridors and the rooms were dark . The cost of breakfast was 16 euros each ….. and although the lady who served us was very friendly the choice was very limited . The price of the drinks in the rooftop bar were also excessive , you expect to pay more in the hotel bar but I found the prices a bit over the top . So for somewhere to sleep , shower and explore this hotel is great but I would definitely dine elsewhere

We booked two nights at this hotel for a group of friends travelling on motorbikes. The hotel has secure garage parking for a fee. The hotel is also close to the castle. Unfortunately the above are the only good points about this hotel and our experience staying there. Our room, although large and spacious, was dirty and very dated. There were no curtains at the windows, only external shutters. So you had no privacy in your room as other guests and members of the public could see in. Eg, the bathroom had a window facing the road. I found on check-in that the lady at reception was very rude. This theme continued during our stay. I can never understand why people who work in hospitality are like this. We were overcharged for our room. I booked 5 rooms for our party and we paid €50 more than everyone else for the same room. When I tried to explain this to the lady at reception, she just looked at me and said 'i know, too bad'. Beware mosquitos whilst staying, we received lots of insect bites whilst in our rooms. The sofa bed was supposed to have been made up in two of the rooms, however it wasn't. We requested this from reception, however on our return from viewing the castle found that the sofa bed had been made up, but we had no top covers (quilt or sheets!). The breakfast spread was very poor. It was buffet style, but with very few choices and items to eat. On two mornings the coffee ran out and the staff never brought out any more, even when requested. On offer was bread products, pre-wrapped cheese, yogurt and cereal. However as with the coffee, only a certain amount was on offer and when it ran out there was not more. NOTE: reception is not open all of the time, so you have a code to access the building. This can be a problem for guests checking in/ out. We will not stay here again, and I would advise anyone planning to stay in Carcassonne to choose another hotel.

Discover the Jean Alary theater or the Museum of Fine arts, just a few steps away. History buffs will love the Châte au Comtal and its Cathar history. The Salle du Dôme (conventions, events, etc.) is 2 min away on foot. The Pont-Rouge and Salvaza industrial parks and the airport are just a 15-min drive away. Lovely hotel in the Carcassonne city. Very centrally located near the church. Superb breakfast. There’s a man at the concierge we spoke perfect English and was extremely friendly and helpful showing us around the hotel. There’s a cafe just next to the hotel selling lovely cakes and local produce , staff there was super helpful as well. You can watch the sunset at the hotel alfresco bar seating. One bad experience is we emailed the hotel multiple times to arrange for taxi to the hotel as we are arriving at the train station but there’s no response. We have to call them (expensive paid call as we do not have France line). It will be nice for them to offer transfer even if it’s paid

Absolutely superb hotel, wonderful location, extremely friendly staff, beautiful rooms, extremely clean and we had room 19 which had a view of the castle. Just superb, don't hesitate to book.
