Premier Inn Carlisle M6 Jct44

We stayed overnight recently at this Premier Inn when attending a gig in Carlisle. Have stayed at this one before, it’s handy for us as it’s close to the A7 junction and away from the rabble of the city centre and there’s plenty of parking spaces to the front and rear. Booked a Premier Plus room as at £40 for the night it was only a fiver more than a standard room. The room was clean and spacious and it was nice to have complimentary water and chocolate. We didn’t make use of the coffee machine and I was really disappointed at the lack of herbal tea bags on the hospitality tray. An all too common occurrence nowadays evidently…c’mon hotels, we’re not all caffeine *******! Just as well I’d packed an emergency bedtime teabag in anticipation. We decided to treat ourselves to continental breakfast in the morning and everything was as expected (with raspberry teabags available!). All the staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful.

Everything was perfect. From the lovely Premier Plus Room to the fantastic value meal deal. We had breakfast and dinner every day and considering the cost the food was exceptional. All the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend.

Chose here for a break from driving on the way to Scotland. Ideal location. Reception staff not very welcoming. Room was standard for Premier Inns with space and a comfortable bed and all clean. We sat in the bar for a drink and would say, we waited a while for service. BUT, that said it did seem understaffed for a busy hotel so I can't point a finger at staff...more the lack of. We went into Thyme restaurant for Tea. Again, they are the same everywhere and you know what you are getting. Staff, well we have to give praise and a shout out to a few who were so friendly and jolly Margaret who was on breakfasts with such a happy smile, chatty and smiley and run around very busy but still made time for us/ customers.Karl who served us at the bar, Again friendly and engaged in chat and banter. I know it was a drop in stay but those mentioned, your great service didn't go unnoticed!! Thank you. Stayed 31st March 2024

Staying here to visit friends in the area Hotel was typical run of the mill Premier Inn Receptionist barely looked up told us to register car for car park but didn't bother to tell us how or where until we asked Question was very tersely answered Breakfast juices were empty at 8:15 first morning and not refilled Items on breakfast buffet were missing You get what you pay for but we have used PIs a lot and this one would not feature in a top ten The room was clean and comfortable if small and only had one chair

The perfect location for a stop off if you are heading to Scotland. Or just a lovely hotel to stay and visit Carlisle. What ever the reason, you wont be disappointed. Plus rooms are a little touch of something extra to improve your stay.

This place is poorly managed and very poorly staffed. I arrived and rang the bell a total of 8 times, and eventually gave up and went walkabout to find a likely suspect. I located said person lurking in the restaurant surrounded by other customers who were all looking for service. It went downhill from there and continued with the food which was pure pap along with the bar service. Never again!

Room was great very clean plenty of towels evening meal and breakfast were great no issues at all good nights sleep

David on reception went above and beyond to help us, what a great guy. The dinner was very good and friendly staff. This is a great location to explore the Lake District and surrounding areas, we only stayed for one night but the next time we travel to this part of the country we will be using it again. Thank you David and the rest of the team.

I often stay in Premier Inns when sight seeing. They're cheap and cheerful in terms of rooms, as this one was. However, I rarely eat in one as I've always expected the bland chain menu to be a cast iron disappointment. On Easter Sunday I had no choice and was pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the food and service. My wife enjoyed the best brownie she'd had for some time. My son decided his burger was the best one of our holiday; he should know as he eats enough of them. My steak and cheesecake were both very pleasant. The service from Beth & Catalina was very friendly and professional throughout, despite how busy they were. Much better than expected!
