If you’re sensitive to noise, my recommendation would be to stay elsewhere. All the other reviews about noise level were on point. Because of the layout of the hotel, the restaurant courtyard is right in the center and noise level from there travels to the rooms. It doesn’t help that they play bass heavy music at the bar till 11pm even though they state on their website they have a strict no noise policy. On one night music went past 11pm and we had to call multiple times before they turned it off. If you stay on the ground floor, you would also have to contend with the creaks from the room above and it can get pretty bad depending on who stays there. So basically our sleeping hours were at best from 11pm-6am. When we made note to the front desk, our comments were greeted with disdain. So condescending and patronizing by this lady Monica who apparently is the manager. And I’ve read another bad review about her. If she doesn’t like to be friendly maybe don’t be in the hospitality industry? When we checked out, she never even said thank you. Despite of the lack of example Monica sets, everyone else was lovely. They were polite, welcoming, helpful, and simply a pleasure to be around. The hotel also provides good amenities. The breakfast is tasty and offers good choices. They tidy your room twice a day and leave cookies in the evening. They have a hotel car that can drive you locally. They have glass bottled still and sparkling water in the room along with nuts and caramel. If noise isn’t a concern for you and you don’t have to interact with Monica, definitely consider this hotel if you like proximity to the restaurants and shops.

One of the most gorgeous Hyatt properties that I’ve been to. Beautiful ocean view, quaint yet modern rooms, lots of plants, close by to point lobos state park, Carmel, Monterey, Big Sur. 2 bedroom units are spacious enough for 2 adults and 2 adult kids. Heated swimming pool during the winter is a plus. Gym is good more for aerobic exercises than weight training but weights and machines are available. BBQ grill available to use, and Safeway is only a mile away. Highly recommended.

I can't pick words how great it is.. but I want to provide details. First and foremost. we stayed 1 night on May 18, we got room 328, this is a suite with fantastic location and it is very very quiet. I and my wife celebrated 22 years of our first date and initially we wanted to pick Ritz in Half Moon bay but we decided to give this place a try.. and oh boy - we will never go back to Ritz. 1. Hospitality. staff is awesome. reception is the most welcome and I want to say - naturally welcome. Very smiley. 2. Valley Kitchen restaurant is fantastic and I can't find another word. it is probably the best restaurant in Carmel. it has a European charm I absolutely love. We dined and had a breakfast. both were great. 3. ”Little things matter the most”. you know what I do not like? it is a extra charge for cappuccino if you take buffet breakfast. I love to run this test, we travel to Hawaii often - 90% of restaurants do it. they say ”drip coffee is included but cappuccino is not”. Valley Kitchen waiter just said ”Oh. I will bring you a cappuccino and it will be on us.” . I love it. 4. room is great by the most highest standards. it has a soaking bathtub on balcony and we spent an hour inside sipping champagne. 5. fireplace with automatic timer - fantastic. you just click ”30 min” and it will go down in 30 min. 6. large bathroom with a toilet inside separated by the extra door. 7. cocktails at the bar - they have a special in house receipts - I tried one on whiskey and my wife got a lavender one. we repeated them. both are just awesome. 8. We tried to book Spa, but it was full.. I assume it is very good because I called them for 2 days in advance and they always apologized that all is booked, and could not find a spot for facial. you should book in advance . on a scale from 1 to 10 it is 11. there is only one hotel in my life I would put on the same level of excellence - it is Four seasons on Maui.. nothing else is better. Thank you, we will return back for sure !

It was a nice hotel the pool is heated. The breakfast says continental but it really just pastries, fruit and juice but it was good still. Be aware there is no microwave at least not in the room we got and the doors use old fashioned keys instead of key cards and have to locked by pushing the button on the inside when leaving a mistake we didn't realize till later. Otherwise its a nice hotel and a short walk into town.

The Tradewinds Carmel does everything right. Friendly greeting, spotless, comfortable room with two comfy chairs, comfortable bed with soft sheets and good towels. Highly recommend the top floor with a view of the sea. Our room also had a fireplace and balcony. It was great to be able to step outside and being cold when we were there, we enjoyed the fireplace. The continental breakfast and coffee delivered to our room was very good. Keep in mind that this hotel, along with most others in Carmel does not have an elevator, but the staff helped with luggage which was appreciated. The property is very quiet due to it's location at the edge of town, but also a short walk to the central area. It is a bit of an uphill walk to get back to the property. Highly recommend this property and can't wait to go back!

We booked this place hoping it would be one of the many, very smart independent motels you find throughout CA. Check in was painless and easy. We got a great patio as we had paid for a sea view but it did mean we were around the side of the hotel. The patio doors were surprisingly insecure - held by a small bolt. The room itself was surprisingly small (two double beds), particularly with the fireplace in one corner. The lack of a desk was a shame and we had hoped the room would be smarter/have more character. The bathroom was also relatively small. The beds were very comfortable. Remarkably when we got ready for bed we discovered that the room has no AC - not even a fan! We called reception and they said all the free-standing fans had been given out for the night. We managed to get one our second night but couldn't believe the lack of AC in California - the hotel is older but not so old as to not offer this. The pool was well located and of a good size. However, having been advertised as heated to 80 degrees I would say it was a lot colder. The pool hours (9am-7pm) were annoyingly restrictive, but not uncommon for outdoor pools and explained by the fact that some hotel rooms were right outside it! Breakfast was very poor - a grab and go bag with water, a piece of fruit and an unappetising, dry pastry - which forced us to go elsewhere. Overall given the range of choice and competition in Carmel, and the reasonably high room rate, we were left disappointed. The hotel lacked the character we had hoped for and needs to up its game where AC and breakfast are concerned. We would look to stay somewhere else if we returned to Carmel.

Stayed here for one night on a Choice redemption. Carmel is an expensive city, and I appreciated having a points option available amidst exorbitant rates at the inns and motels around the cities. I stayed in a nicely furnished King room that was modern. The bathroom had strong water pressure. The property was well-located and walkable to downtown. The breakfast options were run-of-the-mill with average coffee. I appreciated the friendly service from the stay-in manager who was also able to hold my bags while I was away at an event. I hope the Comfort Inn sticks around as an option, especially for international travelers who have loyalty points but are shocked by Carmel's high prices.

This is a hidden gem. The inn really doesn't look like much from the outside, but when we opened the door to our room, my jaw dropped. It's easily the most beautiful hotel room we've ever seen in terms of the decor. Very elegant. The furnishings are a step above what you expect from a hotel room, which are usually pretty generic. The bed is like climbing into a cloud - very upscale bedding and just super-comfy. It has all the amenities you'd want - mini-fridge, Keurig, fluffy bathrobes, hair dryer, etc. The location is perfect - easy walking distance to pretty much everything in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea and to the beach. The staff is wonderful, and there are fresh baked complimentary cookies in the lobby every day, along with a nice firepit where we sat in the evenings with a glass of wine. The only (minor) con was the shower in our room. The shower head comes out of the wall at a height where, at 5'8”, I had to do a semi squat like I was sitting down in a chair in order to wash my hair. I can't imagine anyone taller being able to comfortably shower in there. Maybe other rooms have a different configuration, though?

We received a complimentary ‘upgrade’ to the Kitchen Suite. This ‘suite’ is literally the kitchen of a former home with very minimal renovations to make it look like a hotel suite. The whole suite was just very chopped up. Huge full kitchen, tiny bedroom and very strange bathroom. No care was put into the decor in fact I think it was still decorated when it was lived in as a home. In the morning we had no hot water to shower. No one at the front desk until 8am. Called the overnight service line and woke someone up. She told us to wait until 8 when someone would be there. We needed to be on the road by 7am. Finally a knock on the door and she said it was fixed. Still no hot water and the girl said she didn’t know what was wrong. Waited until 9 for the office manager who was told another guest lost power all night. She came in to the ‘kitchen’ and reset the fuse box for the building. We were supposed to spend 2 nights. Luckily we were refunded for the 2nd night. Also - It is not walking distance to the town. Would have scored a 1 but the office manager felt very bad and easily refunded us.

We booked this place hoping it would be one of the many, very smart independent motels you find throughout CA. Check in was painless and easy. We got a great patio as we had paid for a sea view but it did mean we were around the side of the hotel. The patio doors were surprisingly insecure - held by a small bolt. The room itself was surprisingly small (two double beds), particularly with the fireplace in one corner. The lack of a desk was a shame and we had hoped the room would be smarter/have more character. The bathroom was also relatively small. The beds were very comfortable. Remarkably when we got ready for bed we discovered that the room has no AC - not even a fan! We called reception and they said all the free-standing fans had been given out for the night. We managed to get one our second night but couldn't believe the lack of AC in California - the hotel is older but not so old as to not offer this. The pool was well located and of a good size. However, having been advertised as heated to 80 degrees I would say it was a lot colder. The pool hours (9am-7pm) were annoyingly restrictive, but not uncommon for outdoor pools and explained by the fact that some hotel rooms were right outside it! Breakfast was very poor - a grab and go bag with water, a piece of fruit and an unappetising, dry pastry - which forced us to go elsewhere. Overall given the range of choice and competition in Carmel, and the reasonably high room rate, we were left disappointed. The hotel lacked the character we had hoped for and needs to up its game where AC and breakfast are concerned. We would look to stay somewhere else if we returned to Carmel.

If you’re sensitive to noise, my recommendation would be to stay elsewhere. All the other reviews about noise level were on point. Because of the layout of the hotel, the restaurant courtyard is right in the center and noise level from there travels to the rooms. It doesn’t help that they play bass heavy music at the bar till 11pm even though they state on their website they have a strict no noise policy. On one night music went past 11pm and we had to call multiple times before they turned it off. If you stay on the ground floor, you would also have to contend with the creaks from the room above and it can get pretty bad depending on who stays there. So basically our sleeping hours were at best from 11pm-6am. When we made note to the front desk, our comments were greeted with disdain. So condescending and patronizing by this lady Monica who apparently is the manager. And I’ve read another bad review about her. If she doesn’t like to be friendly maybe don’t be in the hospitality industry? When we checked out, she never even said thank you. Despite of the lack of example Monica sets, everyone else was lovely. They were polite, welcoming, helpful, and simply a pleasure to be around. The hotel also provides good amenities. The breakfast is tasty and offers good choices. They tidy your room twice a day and leave cookies in the evening. They have a hotel car that can drive you locally. They have glass bottled still and sparkling water in the room along with nuts and caramel. If noise isn’t a concern for you and you don’t have to interact with Monica, definitely consider this hotel if you like proximity to the restaurants and shops.

Le Petit Pali at 8th was amazing! We celebrated my 30th here from Fort Worth, TX and had such an amazing trip. We brought our 7 month old son and had baby rental gear delivered via BabyQuip. Karen and Shaq set up the gear and moved us to a bigger room before we got there which was so sweet, we definitely felt welcomed as a family. Shaq was so helpful with recommendations and Karen was always checking in to see if we needed anything. The champagne breakfast is a fun touch and Natalie our waitress was on top of it. I always felt like staff was on top of cleanliness and our room was always so clean. Valencia the housekeeper did a great job and I loved that they were always cleaning around our time out of the room and trying to make in convenient for us. The decor of the entire place is precious and such a fun vibe and the T3 straightener, blow dryer, and clothes steamer are nice additions as well! This would be a great place for a girls trip, couple, or families. I previously read concerns on parking and the walls being thin but I will say the little amount of foot traffic I heard from the room upstairs didn’t bother us or the baby at all, and the parking during December wasn’t much of an issue either. If having a parking lot is priority then you could select the ocean ave property that Le Petit Pali has. Chris at the front desk was super helpful at checkout explaining the differences in properties so I know for next time but we would definitely come back here because of the great touches and the customer service! The room did have a mini fridge but I also needed a freezer for ice packs for my breastmilk and the front desk was happy to keep the ice packs in their freezer up front, just a note for moms traveling with milk. Thanks for an amazing 30th birthday trip! A note on the AC….most hotels in Carmel don’t have them which worried me a bit being from Texas but in December we kept a window open during the day and heater on at night and the temp was perfect.

Rumah itu bagus dan tempatnya luas; apabila saya mendaftar masuk, meja depan sudah tidak bekerja, dan saya memasukkan kunci ke dalam sampul surat. Wanita tua di kaunter penerimaan tetamu berasa ok. Saya minta anak angkat barang dalam kereta, tapi dia kata anak tak boleh ambil sendiri. Selepas saya pergi ke sana, dia berkata dia akan menghubungi polis untuk seketika. Saya tidak mengendahkannya dan tidak melihat polis sepanjang malam selepas pulang ke rumah. Saya merasakan bahawa diskriminasi terhadap orang kulit putih adalah satu aspek dalam tempoh yang luar biasa, dan mungkin juga wanita tua itu mungkin mempunyai hubungan yang tidak baik dengan hotel dan sengaja mencari kesalahan, kerana dia duduk di sebelah tingkap dan bercakap sepanjang malam!

It was a nice hotel the pool is heated. The breakfast says continental but it really just pastries, fruit and juice but it was good still. Be aware there is no microwave at least not in the room we got and the doors use old fashioned keys instead of key cards and have to locked by pushing the button on the inside when leaving a mistake we didn't realize till later. Otherwise its a nice hotel and a short walk into town.

Stayed here for one night on a Choice redemption. Carmel is an expensive city, and I appreciated having a points option available amidst exorbitant rates at the inns and motels around the cities. I stayed in a nicely furnished King room that was modern. The bathroom had strong water pressure. The property was well-located and walkable to downtown. The breakfast options were run-of-the-mill with average coffee. I appreciated the friendly service from the stay-in manager who was also able to hold my bags while I was away at an event. I hope the Comfort Inn sticks around as an option, especially for international travelers who have loyalty points but are shocked by Carmel's high prices.
