Francisco Grande Hotel and Golf Resort

Super disappointed in this hotel. Not only is it extremely outdated, I don't know how they can classify it as a resort. First, the rooms are so completely outdated and our room did not have A/C. It was mid 70's when we were there. They did have a portable A/C or fan in the room but when we would come in at noon or later it was super muggy and hot even with the portable A/C running all day. Made for a miserable sleep. Never stayed in a hotel room that was that hot or muggy. House keeping came at 8:30am the first day and since we were still in the room we asked them to come back in an hour or two and they said ok. By 11:30 they still hadn't come and so we called the front desk to let them know they haven't shown up. Got back later in the afternoon and room was still not cleaned. Called front desk again only to find out that housekeeping leaves at 2pm so room could no longer be cleaned. During a shower on our 2nd day the water stopped working. Come to find out it was a water main break in the area. Weird because the toilet worked just fine but we couldn't turn on the shower or the sink. I took video because that has never happened during a stay. My son couldn't take a shower that day before his tournament. Housekeeping came and cleaned our room after there was no running water. I guess they just do a wipe down since there was no water. When he finished the tournament I went to front desk to let them know we would be leaving and staying at another hotel. They accommodated this but said they cannot offer anything else for the previous night/that day that we went without water. For $300 a night that seems a little unfair. The quality of the hotel is so old and rundown and I will never stay there again. We ended up going 25 mins away to stay at the Harrah's Ak Chin and had a lovely room and stay. The golf course itself is pretty run down too. Was just hoping for something nicer considering it said Resort. Don't get your hopes up.

Needs updating. Sliding door did not slide - came off track. Need bigger TV Heat was hit or miss - didn’t warm up until early morning - had it set over 80 degrees Heating unit was very VERY loud Windows on side unit were very dirty a needs cleaning. No blankets available for pull out bed. Asked for another and it never was delivered :(

Rooms were hot as AC obviously has some issues. Also, noted on other reviews. Key cards didn't work half the time for room and ice area. I had a packaged shipped there via UPS they said they couldn't find but after pressing them to look harder they found it.

We wanted to enjoy our stay, growing up in the area it was one of the fancy places. Unfortunately we must have got them at a bad time, none of the ac's in the rooms we had worked. The door and sliding doors weren't sealed, so on top of the ac's not working they were trying to cool a room with warm humid air making them work overtime. Also because of the door and sliding door not being sealed there were black Beatles dead all over the floor by the entrances. I would go back and try again, because I know the hotel has awesome fold and history, but this was an all round bad experience. I hope they get these issues resolved.

Room didnt cool down, water pressure was low and the elevator broke. Didnt help that we were on the 7th floor so that was fun.

It is located near my daughters' home. We wanted to hang out by the pool on mothers' day. Myself, mother, daughter and ten year old grandson. There were water beetles swimming by the steps into the pool. The water was cloudy, dirty,full of dirt and leafs. I was told the pool is cleaned once a week. We did not let the grandson swim.

We book a suite expecting,(for the price) a nicer room. All the soft surfaces were very worn. The big soft chair had splits in the arms. The sofa also showed a lot of wear and stained spots. The bed was typical of a “cheap hotel” with deep holes and worn areas in the mattress. The carpet also was well worn, dirty and had stains. The staff was very friendly and the service was very good. Five stars! The restaurants; Duke’s and Legends, we both very good with comfortable atmospheres, very good food and outstanding service. Five stars!

Beautiful view of the property from every room. The elevator has a mind if its own at times and the pool area jacuzzi not heated. Golf Course was in good condition and worth playing for the price. Dukes bar and staff the best. 😁
