Small old Hampton. I would agree with an earlier review, this is one of the smallest Hamptons I have stayed in. Are you staying about 25 Hamptons a year. This is one of the Hamptons that does not have closets in the room, in mind they had a curtain with hangers on the walls. Also just a very small window. I noticed in the morning how loud the doors closing were, it must be the construction didn’t have enough soundproofing when I built it. Front desk staff was nice exercise room looked large. Breakfast area was the small Hampton breakfast area, Hampton Inn and suites is much larger in breakfast area and overall rooms.

If I could give them 0 stars, I would. I have been traveling back and forth to Cedar Rapids for work every weekend. I had been staying at this hotel with no problems up until this past weekend. I stayed Thursday night and Friday night and on Saturday morning I woke up COVERED in bites. These bites, now 24 hours later, have turned into red, hot welts on my body. When I woke up on Saturday morning, there were rust-colored stains on the bedsheets which is one of the signs of bed bugs. I was very itchy and immediately packed up my things and left. Today, I spoke with the General Manager who was less than helpful. She gas-lighted me and victim blamed me insinuating that I had brought the bed bugs into the room. I go home during the week and certainly have never had this problem at home. She also claims that because she “took a class, but it’s been awhile” that she knew for a fact her hotel didn’t have bed bugs because bed bug bites take 5-7 days to show up. According to the CDC , bed bug bites can show up as early as ONE DAY after being bitten. I was at the hotel for two nights as well as previous weekends. She told me that although she doesn’t refund for this, she would do it as a “courtesy” for me. After receiving email confirmation that a refund was on the way, I noticed the refund wasn’t for the whole stay. It was only for 2/4 nights. I am a medical professional and will NO LONGER be risking my health by staying at this hotel ever again. I will be reporting to the Iowa Department of Health and letting my fellow medical professionals know about the situation and how it was handled.

We enjoyed our stay in the Tru Hilton! The room was nice and clean, and the bed was very comfy! The bathroom and shower were nice as well, and the breakfast was good! We could have used an extra night just to use the pool and other amenities! 5/5 would recommend!

First key given had someone sleeping in the bed.... I feel they overcharge for early check in and she forgot to give me my change

Do not recommend staying at this hotel. It is not a safe place. Upon check in, we were given a room (112) that is known to have people break in through the windows. When we entered, there was coffee brewing, pills on the bathroom sink, used soap in the shower, garbage on the floor. We informed the front desk agent and were advised to close the window and we “should” be fine. Requested a change in room since travelling with 2 teenage girls. Should not have had to request a change in room, that should have automatically been offered. Seemed like a huge inconvenience to the agent for us to ask. Second room, we were informed that someone might be in there because sometimes the maintenance man lives in the room. Agent was absolutely unfriendly and uncaring. Door didn’t lock in second room so had to barricade with the chair from the room. Breakfast is advertised as continental, but is definitely not. Overall, do not recommend.

The hotel had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The staff was friendly and very helpful and they had a very good breakfast bar. It is also close to the Cedar Rapids airport. The price was very reasonable compared to others in the area.
