Wing Creek Resort

INCREDIBLE- this is what word we would use to describe the owners, the location, the views, the accessibility to restaurants and hikes, and the accommodations(especially the bed). Deb and Kevin have created a quiet oasis nestled above the Kootenay lake where couples can go to reconnect, soak in nature and be spoiled with warm hospitality. Swimming, kayaking, hiking, or lounging on your private deck staring at the mountains were all highlights. The cabins were done in curated products from local talents including the furniture, metal works, and cabinetry. Not only could we see coming back for more getaways but also possibly build in their new community. Thank you for sharing your piece of heaven with us.

Wing Creek Resort was the perfect peaceful and romantic getaway. We were looking for somewhere that was private, cozy, and near the water and that’s exactly what we got. The cabin was quaint, very clean, and cozy. Our hosts were very friendly during check-in and check-out but otherwise left us alone which was perfect for us. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back.

I have never reviewed any place before and I’m almost reluctant to bring attention to this resort, almost, but this is just too good not to share. From the moment we arrived, we knew this was going to be special. The drive up to the resort was a gentle reminder that this location remains one of the few, most ideal, untouched locations left in the interior of BC and the Kootenays. Debra and Kevin gave us such a warm welcome with all the care and consideration we could want. We could just hang out all day on our deck with the most spectacular views of the lake and mountain valley or take a walk along our beach, or just cozy up to a fire back in our cottage. The beds are the most comfortable I’ve ever experienced, I was also impressed with the pillows, so expertly selected for us. The best sleep ever to wake up with the sun peeking over the mountains in the valley, it was truly magical. Talk about magic, I have been all over the national parks and I have never seen more diverse wildlife as I have here; eagles flying over, wild turkeys strolling about, a late fall baby fawn with mama deer, and then the next day a sweet bear sighting from just across the orchard. Amazing! We almost hated to leave to explore the town of Kaslo and hot springs in case we missed anything. Kaslo is a cute friendly town with some great food, unique art and great gift finds. I recommend you check out the brunch and breakfast as there are a few places, the Blue Bell cafe and The Treehouse all offer great options. At dinner we found a few places with great food and even live music at Buddies Pizza or The Angry Hen Brewery. It was just a short drive to the Ainsworth hot springs and the caves were super cool, or rather hot as it were. You just have to be sure you make a reservation to visit. Debra was sure to set us up with all the info so we didn’t miss out. If you want a crazy awesome adventure, check out the mountain zipline at Balfour. It was thrilling to be jetting across the valley and I even tried it upside down. In Kaslo, you have to take the Kaslo River Walk and visit the Koots, the locals know what I mean ;) You’ll be rewarded with incredible views along the river with quaint burgundy covered bridges to cross over. I just saw this walk featured on a national talk show, and it was perfect for an afternoon to explore, so I guess I’m not the one who has found the magic here. Back at the resort I was also able to receive the most relaxing massage at the Falling Water Spa, again magical, with the sound of Wing Creek babbling right under the window. Oh ya, even with all the natural beauty, we were shocked to find high speed wifi in our cottage and on the property as well, a complete rarity anywhere around these parts. I hear that the salmon is spawning up at Meadow Creek now and we really wanted to check that out too. We were sad to pack up at the end of our stay but so full of gratitude to have found new friends, peace, serenity, fun adventure and joy in one plac

Another piece of heaven in the Rockies!!! If you are looking for that special retreat with a "WOW" view, total relaxation, super clean and comfortable, second to none views (especially with the morning sunrise), nature trails, beautiful private beach, the sound of waterfalls, private surroundings and most of all, two amazing hosts who's passion for their business and property is evident everywhere you look!...Then Wing Creek is your destination! We arrived at the resort with no reservation and were greeted by Deb and Kevin, with two huge authentic smiles and we felt instantly we had found something special in the mountains!!! Coming from the Hospitality Sector, we were so impressed by location and views but when Kevin showed us the cabin that was available it was a very quick YES to our nights stay!!! I could go on about the property, accommodations, our hosts etc etc...but all I can say is when you are looking for an amazing getaway, retreat or a place to totally relax and bond with nature...Wing Creek is the place!!! This was one of our best experiences ever! Highly recommend this place. The cabins are cozy immaculate and views out of this world!! Kevin and Deb are amazing hosts and went above and beyond to make our experience amazing. Trails beach property is an outdoor oasis.Bed extremely comfortable!! Pillows amazing!! Cleanliness above and beyond. So close to Kaslo and other amenities. We are so grateful we found this amazing Resort. Kevin and Deb are so passionate and have huge hearts! What an incredible getaway. It was absolutely breath taking, cozy cute cottage with the most beautiful views. We loved sitting on the deck as much as possible. The private beach was so nice to have and just the entire property to walk around was gorgeous! So many little touches thanks to the incredible hosts that made it that much more special! We can’t wait to be back ASAP. Thank you again for everything!

The resort provided the perfect location for our mini-honeymoon, after our wedding in New Denver. The quaint little cottage offered all you need to cook amazing meals and the comforts of home in a beautiful setting. The walk down to access the water a bit sporty in terms of elevation but totally worth the effort. There are a number of private fire pits, kayaks and paddle boards for guests to use. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a getaway on the picturesque Kootenay Lake with that special someone.
