We came across the Akrotiri Hotel on a June Sunday evening when our flight to London Gatwick was postponed for two days. Our hosts warmly checked us in to our rooms at 10pm on arrival from the airport. Like many Crete hotels the hotel is traditionally family run where qualities of being welcomed in and providing local assistance made our flight cancellation fade away for the duration of our stay. The rooms were cleaned to a high standard, with linen changed daily. Breakfast was of good continental standard with local produce and freshly made bread. The balcony area at the front hotel provided lovely views of the Chania seafront. The rear garden had fruit trees and tortoises with the owner showing us having their breakfast. Chania town was a walk down the hill, with plenty of restaurants, available boat trips, beaches and shopping area with some lovely shops. One shop had centuries old building features visible through glass which could have been a museum if it wasn’t a shop.

Very cozy and comfortable accommodations. Lena is extremely hospitable and helpful and the room was lovely. This was a beautiful hotel, we had great views, and felt very at-home here! Great place to rest your head after enjoying the city of Chania!

Lena, is an excellent host, friendly got a lovely warm personality, good knowledge of attractions and places to visit. Nothing is to much trouble for her if you have problems or issues. This property is value for money.all of there staff are excellent.

Nice little hotel with great staff! Cleaning the rooms daily. The owner Lena and her husband Ilia were really friendly and helpful. They made our stay feel like home. Bus stop next to the hotel and wonderful views of the sea and the city. Grocery store next door.

I would highly recomend this hotel for anyone staying in Chania. The location is perfect, it is nice and quiet and there is a bus stop right outside the hotel. The owners are really kind and helpuful, they make the stay very pleasant. Akrotiri has one of the best views I have ever had at a hotel. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. We will be back!

The owners are exceptionally kind and helpful. They will make your stay special. I wish more hotel managers/owners were like the couple who owns hotel Akrotiri!
And the view of the historic downtown and surrounding bay is breathtaking!

It was my first time to greece. Had such a bad experience at airport and with car rental. Reached out to Lena the owner of the hotel through *******. She was very kind and accomodating. When we arrived the feeling of home overwhelmed us. Property overlooks a beautiful scene. Perfect views. Comfortable rooms, very clean. Her and her staff was was sincere and very helpful. Breakfast was really good. I cannot wait to come back. We had an early flight so was not able to properly say goodbye...but they left such an impression that we will be back. I highly recommend this hotel, not just for the views and the price but for the hospitality, cleanliness, and feeling of home. Thank you Lena and staff, much love melissa and stanley from the usa.
