I stayed here on a girl's trip to Charleston and was also able to use American Express points which was a bonus. (It was a LOT of points but the nightly room rate was quite high so I expected that). The hotel is beautiful, quiet but cool vibe, very understated. My room, while small, was quiet, well appointed (gorgeous chandelier) and the bed was SO comfortable. One thing I thought strange was that there were no in room coffee or espresso options. They did have a morning coffee self service stand in the lobby which was fine. There were also no places to grab a quick bite to eat to take on the go which would have been convenient. Two of the mornings I was there I didn't have time to either order room service or go sit in the lounge to order breakfast so I ended up eating a granola bar that I had with me since I was meeting people for other activities. The service across the board was excellent. The views from the Citrus Club were beautiful although service there seemed to be way too slow and the whole key card/wait for entry didn't quite seem necessary as we had to wait twenty minutes to get up there and found it 50% full (maybe a staffing issue?). Regardless, it is a lovely hotel, a block off of King Street. I would definitely stay here again.

The best things about the Hampton Inn were the location and the hotel employees. The hotel is 15 minutes to half an hour walk from Charleston’s major attractions, including shopping, and twenty minutes from the airport. Charleston is made for walking. It is compact, clean and safe, so we walked everywhere. The attitude of the front desk employees epitomized southern hospitality. The hotel offers free breakfast which is basic, but satisfying. Pros: - great location, close to attractions, restaurants, shops - Wifi works well - rooms are relatively clean however I found a few hairs here and there - rooms are spacious enough - Check-in is at 4pm officially but our room was ready at 2pm so we could check in - mini fridge in room - the hotel is nicely furnished and decorated - 24-hour fitness center - 2 complimentary bottles of water - Coffee machine in the room Cons: - staff at the front desk could’ve been friendlier - bed too soft and pillows too thick - A/C didn’t work properly—the room was either ice cold or hot

Though the hotel itself needed some updating the staff was extremely helpful. I forgot my toiletries bag as well as hair gel. Oliva and Madison at the front desk were able to get me everything I needed quickly. I was in for business meetings so these two saved the day and allowed me to make my meetings on time. They also called into a local restaurant they recommend and were able to secure a reservation for my customers and I on the day of. Everyone enjoyed the recommendation. I will be back thanks to these two and their hospitality. Great location!

I've stayed here in the Renaissance a couple of other times prior to this, and overall, enjoyed my stay. That said, although there was good service, I feel like things are starting to slip, making it more along the lines of a 2 or 3 star hotel, not a 4 star. And it was little things like my water pressure in my shower was horrible, the shower basin flooded, as the drain must have been clogged, and there was peeling paint around the light fixture in the shower. Additionally, the bedside lamp attached to the wall was sagging, so it gave the impression of being a bit ghetto. My bed was okay, but not amazing, and the seating furniture seemed a bit worn. I know it has to be hard to run a 4 star hotel and keep things up to standard, but just from these things being a part of my experience didn't rock my world while there, but I did expect more from the Renaissance and it's 4 star hotel rating.

For short or long stays, this is a fantastic hotel. Location is wonderful and easy to reach many different stops that are ”must do's” when in the Holy City. Front desk and maid service is fabulous and the best part, it has been consistant like this over the past 2-3 years. Yes, parking is a pain. They do their best to make it easier, but it's Charleston. This is one of my top selects in the Marriott portfolio when I visit, up against the Reniassance & Bohemium -yes. It's the service, cleanliness and LOCATION! The hotel is starting to show some wear. Also, the pool furniture/area could use a touch to make it more appealing. None the less, these are so minor and really doesn't impact a great trip to a fantastic hotel in the heart of Charleston. Don't hesistate to book here, this is an easy choice. Thank you to the entire staff - you guys don't disappoint!

Experienced the wine blending and dinner that was fantastic! Eric is so fun and lead us through and unforgettable evening! He is the Bohemian wine guy that will keep us coming back. Stephanie from Raymond vineyards shared some great wines and knowledge of winemaking as well. Can’t wait to return to another wine night at the Bohemian!!
