Hotel berhampiran BAOFA, Chefchaouen

Small but charming and cosey place. I had a tiny room that fit me just fine. Very well decorated and put together. The host was incredibly nice, caring, helpful and informative. His English was very good. He recommended a private tour guide, a childhood friend of his, who cost me $40. Very nice guide. However, this was the only place in Morocco that I got a guide, only due to his recommendation. And in retrospect I would have done just fine without one, as I did everywhere else. But the guide was good company and added some to the experience, including a recommendation of an orange-pomegranate mixed juice from a stand, that I thoroughly enjoyed, and a few pictures of me, that I am not used to taking on my trips. I believe that the beauty of what surrounds me should not be defiled with a selfie of me obscuring it. I am not all that vain and don't care to share pictures of mine. Cars have to be parked outside the medina. The trek to the hotel was not long, as it was winding with quite a bit of climbing up and down. As is true of Chefchaouen anyway. Without a helper for your baggage and directions, it can be a bit of a challenge. BTW, this helper did try to rip me off. But I waited for the host to open the door and asked him what would be reasonable, and considerably reduced his tip to what was reasonable, only to the annoyance of this helper. But on my way back to the car, the helper from the hotel took a much more straightforward path to the parking lot, albeit slightly longer. Breakfast was a nice but standard Moroccan breakfast, on the terrace, pleasantly decorated, with a view of a part of the city.

Unfortunately this hotel did not live up to expectations. We were in the annex rather than the more attractive looking main hotel. Difficult to find and our luggage had to be carried miles! The place was pokey with no real common area other than the roof terrace. Our room was very small and there was a ridiculously large piece of furniture which had no use whatsoever! Added to that the red drapes over the bed - why?! The room was very noisy with cat’s and dogs fighting outside and men spitting - yuk! Also, there was a really unpleasant odour - cat pee? Staff were friendly enough although the manager(?) had a massive verbal fight with someone outside just as we arrived - not very appropriate. Also seemed to be reluctant to recommend anywhere good to eat. (We found Sofias which is really good). Not our favourite stay in Morocco.

Lovely Riad with amazingly helpful staff right in the centre of the Medina. At one point when we were unsure of how to get to a particular spot, one of the staff accompanied us there, above and beyond what they needed to do.

I loved my stay my beautiful room colours my 2 Windows that looked out on the street ,a place to feel safe And th beautiful staff that were the most helpful and caring people Te best in my trip through Morrocco Nothing was a issue for them Thank you so much

Hôtel très bien situé, à 160m de la place centrale. Les hôtes sont souriants et disponible. Il y a de quoi se garer juste devant l’hôtel. Quand on rentre dans l’hôtel on tombe sur une grande pièce avec des fauteuils au milieu et les chambres sont autours. Au dessus il y a encore des chambres et au dernier étage il y a une terrasse avec une belle vue. La chambre est propre, pas de mauvaise odeur et pas de poussière. Pour moi l’hôtel a un très bon rapport qualité prix mais le hic c’est la douche qui se trouve au même endroit que les toilettes. C’est très petit, ok pour une petite toilette mais une douche ça m’a l’air compliqué. Pour ceux qui ont un sommeil léger oublié car quand on est au rdc à côté de la réception on entend tout jusqu’à minuit et après c’est le grand calme jusqu’à 11h sans problème. Pour ma part jetait inquiète quand je me suis endormie mais agréablement surprise le matin vraiment aucun bruit. Nous sommes resté une nuit et je ne regrette pas.

We stayed here as part of an Intrepid tour group. Located in the Medina, we walked in from the main road, with our suitcases brought to the hotel by private courier. Otherwise, you’d have to drag your suitcase through the Mattie, hilly Medina streets. Our room was small: room for a very firm queen bed, a bureau and 2 straight backed chairs. Others in our group had much larger rooms. Our small windows faced outside, which meant street noise at night and in the early morning (roosters crowing and call to prayer) but this was fairly minor. Others in our group had windows opening into internal hallways. Cute Moroccan decor. Shower took a long time to warm up. Minor adjustments were needed as it came up to temperature to avoid a scalding. Water pressure was low and varied by water temperature. Good breakfast options: plain omelettes, goat cheese, olives, tomatoes, cucumber (both peeled), Moroccan bread.

Situé en dehors de la vieille ville à une quinzaine de minutes de marche. Personnel adorable mais anglophone et pas francophone. Ahmed communique de très bonnes informations et adresses pour rendre le séjour à Chefchaouen inoubliable. Encore merci. Très gentilles attentions pour l'anniversaire de la personne qui m'accompagnait. Maison d'hôtes avec du charme même si ce n'est pas un riad. Pas d'ascenseur. Chambre 6 très grande avec coin salon et 3 fenêtres. Petit déjeuner très bien sur la terrasse ou à l'abri selon la météo. Seul bémol l'absence d'eau chaude le dernier matin. En reprenant la voiture garée juste à coté des enfants qui jouent au ballon (à priori) ont laissé un souvenir dont je me serai bien passé. On m'a dépanné d'un rouleau de scotch afin de réparer provisoirement et déclarer le sinistre au loueur. Malgré cela je ne retiens que le positif en mettant 5* car 4.5 n'est pas possible et les hôtels ne sont pas responsables de ce qui se passe dans la rue.

Accueil chaleureux par son propriétaire, c'est un endroit typique, magnifique et central. Je le recommande vivement: Nous avons passé un excellent séjour. Et nous conservons cette adresse pour un prochain voyage au Maroc.

Very clean and comfortable hotel in the town. Enjoyed the included breakfast each morning. Big room and modern bathroom. The room had metal rolling shades over the windows, which was nice to muffle street sounds. Not a far walk to the medina, but at night we took a short taxi ride back. Parking garage attached and included.
