Unfortunately, we cannot confirm the claim that the hotel was newly renovated in 2026. The property feels dated and not particularly clean: the mirror coating was peeling, a ceiling light was missing in the shower leaving a hole in the ceiling, the toilet grout was brown, and the curtain was partly out of its holder.
The hotel was also very noisy, both due to the busy main road and the poorly soundproofed room door. The breakfast we paid for was only available on one of three days. When we asked, we were simply told: “Breakfast comes tomorrow.”
The lobby also feels cluttered as it doubles as a parcel pickup point. Given our experience, the positive reviews only seem explainable by the apparent incentive of around RMB 20 offered for a 5-star review.
Next time in Chengdu, we will definitely choose another hotel.
