Atour Hotel (Chengdu Kuanzhai Alley)

At first, we were a bit worried about cigarette smell at the hotel based on our previous trips. However, Atour managed to keep our room free of cigarette smell which is quite impressive (especially considering some guests had no respect for rules and still smoked in the hotel premises). Throughout our stay for 4 nights, we had no issue at all with cleanliness and air quality. Plus, you can open a bit of the window to let the air in. Secondly, hotel staff’s service was way out of this world. One of the staff, Ms. Huang, really went above and beyond to help us even cut our watermelon and delivered it to our room We were really glad we picked this Atour and our stay in Chengdu was very pleasant. Definitely will stay here again if we ever return to Chengdu.

This stay was great! Our rooms were spotless and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. The staff was very friendly. I would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Kunming.

If travel with family highly recommend, they provide washing machine and dryer .

This is My Third time, at This Hotel, I have given all extra marks to the Hotel Manager and Hotel Reception Staff Like Mr. HAONAN, the Assistant Manager, MS MOXIN, and MS SIHUA. all of them 110% Percentage of the Service, they had served me beyond their limit. But the maid didn't clean well or use Vaccum in the Room. So hair and other dust were in every corner of the room. That's why I give only 3 stars. But Given the Hotel manager and Hotel reception staff was 110% Percentage with 6 star Marks. will come again.

I hope they pay more attention to room cleanness and details. Just a hotel from a typical Chinese local chain. The good side is it locates at the center of the city, but for the city of Chengdu, things spread around and staying in city center does not give you much advantage.

I like Atour hotels very much. Their friend end staff are very helpful and friendly. To date , I found they have very good locations for my selection . Just a note on my latest stay. Realized this hotel has installed auto flashing and ‘push’ button flashing which is good, but I found the toilet bowl smell lingers around and not sure is this because of the flashing or a better toilet bowl cleaning agent is needed to get rid of the toilet bowl urine ‘smell’ .

The hotel location is very convenient. It’s clean and staff at front desk are very helpful. The only unpleasant experience was at breakfast when the hall way was very hot without aircon. The food selection was not very interesting. Staff were not as friendly as front desk staff, and they allowed people to just sit there and smoke in groups without intervening. I had to tell them to ask the guest not to smoke inside the restaurant while we were having breakfast, but it was already very smoky inside and it was horrible. There were Non-smoking signs everywhere but we can smell cigarettes smoke everywhere, including the lifts.

The staff initially had trouble finding my hotel booking. Thankfully Trip app has a function to view the booking in Mandarin which quickly resolved the issue. On top of that, the staff gave me a room upgrade and a cup of tea during check-in. The room was pleasant, spacious and comfortable. I found a small bottle of toiletry left behind by the previous guest behind the sink. The bed was very comfortable. The room was not very sound proof, i can hear people opening/closing doors, people walking down the hallway and neighbors talking. In the morning i can hear room service cleaning. The aircon is a bit noisy, it sounds like a hairdryer every few minutes when it blows air, my friends in other rooms did not have this issue. There is also a strange rhythmic knocking noise in the wall that goes on from night till daylight everyday. I suspect it might be the sound of pipes as i hope it is not something else….. The door of the room is problematic, it makes a very loud popping sound when i close the door. Strangely the door was fine the first night but started making loud sound after room service cleaned my room. The door seem stuck and does not close on its own, when I manually shut it, it makes a loud pop. My friends in the other rooms also did not have the issue of the door or the knocking sounds in the wall. I may have just been unlucky, despite the room upgrade. The location of the hotel is alright. There is not much on the same street. Train station is about a 4-5mins walk. Kuanzai alley is about 8-10mins walk.

The location is near amenities, within walking distance to Kuanzhai Alley . The service staff are friendly. The rooms are clean
