In need of a last minute hotel, we came across Hotel La Regence and what a lucky find. From the moment we arrived the staff were welcoming and friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Our room had a lovely view over the harbour and the en-suite was quirky and fun with a spa bath. The room and communal areas were all perfectly clean. In the evening we choose to eat in the restaurant again the staff were friendly and the service was good. We choose the set menu and were not diss appointed with the quality of the food. Shall certainly be staying here again next time we are in Cherbourg

A nice small hotel above a restaurant. The room was a bit small but otherwise excellent. The staff were brilliant.

I have used the restaurant for many years and it was always the highlight of a sailing trip to France. Because of Covid I had not been there for three years. We booked at lunchtime for dinner at 8pm but they told us we would have to eat outside. However our booking was found and we moved indoors. The service was very slow. The first course was fine but when our main course arrived my duck was only lukewarm as was a friends. It was also tough. Another friend had beef skewers. He could not cut it off the skewer and managed to eat one piece. When I complained, the waitress said she would tell the kitchen but no action was taken. Overall, the meal took over three hours and it seemed to us that the professionalism of the staff was sadly lacking. La Regence is now off my list of favourite restaurants in Cherbourg.

We booked this hotel as it looked nice in the photos and the location was convenient for the ferry. The booking said we would have a courtyard view. A harbour view would have been better but it didn’t matter as it was only for one night. Well! The so called courtyard was in fact the passage way to an annex where the room was situated. We weren’t even in the main building. To get to the room we had to cross an active building site. The ground was rough and uneven. Had we been elderly we could have easily fallen and injured ourselves. The room itself was very drab and dated other than the bathroom which was fairly modern. The so called courtyard view looked out onto a pile of bikes. The other window looked out onto the building site. Wi-Fi was supposed to be available in all rooms but it wasn’t in ours. There was this weird porthole in the wall and around 3:30 in the morning I was woken by a security light shining through it. When we arrived we entered through the front so didn’t know about the room issues until after we had paid. By then it was too late. On returning home I messaged the hotel to express my concerns and dissatisfaction. I felt we had been misled by the booking and some compensation was appropriate. They flatly refused. I will never stay there again and recommend anyone considering it be very wary.

I booked a room at this hotel, as i wanted to be downtown in Cherbourg during my stay.. When i arrived, i parked in a public parkinglot behind the hotel. i got in and was shown to the room i had booked. When I then tried to get acces to the WIFI, there was no connection. I went back to the reception to ask if they could get me WIFI as this was important as i was on a busines*****. they then tried on several places in the hotel, but a signal could only be fond in the lobby. therefore i had to change to another hotel. Following that, they insisted to charge me for the full stay even though they could not deliver on the room with WIFI

Very well situated opposite Cherbourg harbour and 10 minutes from ferries. Breakfast very good and staff friendly and efficient. Room very spacious although it should noted that there is no lift and persons with mobility issues will struggle.

Nous avons eu une smartbox qui nous a permis de découvrir ce charmant hôtel, le personnele et surtout Jo est super sympa, très attentionné et accueillant. Le decors est charmant. Les repas sont délicieux. Une émerveillement merci a toute l’équipe !

Nous avons passé 3 jours et 2 nuits dans ce petit havre de paix. Nous avons beaucoup aimé l’ambiance feutrée, cocooning, familiale et discrète. Nous avons très bien mangé. Toutes les personnes qui œuvraient pour nous, avaient le sourire et de l’humour. Nous conseillons vivement ce lieu très bien placé… face au port, à 15 minutes de la cité de la mer (à visiter!) à côté du centre-ville, pas loin de la gare et des arrêts de bus.

Bon accueil, accès difficile impossible de de garer sa voiture devant l’hôtel pour décharger les bagages. Moquette à changer très sale dommage le patron est sympa les lits sont très confortables a proximité immédiate du centre ville pas de parking grosse galère pour garer sa voiture
