I stayed at this guesthouse for 4 nights. The first night, the king room on the 5th floor wasn't available, so I booked another room on the 2nd floor with a 1.5-meter bed, which was perfectly fine for two people. The rooms here have private bathrooms, refrigerators, wardrobes, and even balconies for drying clothes. For the remaining 3 nights, I moved to the 5th floor. That room was much larger, with a 1.8-meter king bed and a big outdoor terrace. It was also quieter, and even though it was about 20-some baht more expensive, I felt it offered better value for money. The common area on the first floor is very thoughtfully decorated and includes a microwave. The guesthouse is quite close to the Old City, about a 10-minute walk to Tha Phae Gate.

Good quiet location close to the moat. 10 minutes walk to the night market. Nice terrace on the top floor. No elevator but staff will carry your bag if needed.

Finding a room like this for 174 RMB during peak tourist season is truly remarkable. It's about a 10-minute walk from Tha Pae Gate. The Chiang Mai River is right outside the door. While the room facilities are a bit dated, everything is provided except for toiletries. The room has two large windows, a large corner balcony, and a large refrigerator with two bottles of ice water. There's a calico cat downstairs, and the lounge is filled with plants, books, and free bananas. There's no elevator, but the front desk staff helped with our luggage upstairs, which was very helpful. Note that check-out time is 11:30 AM and check-in is 1:00 PM. There are no discounts except for long-term stays, but everything else is great. I even managed to photograph the parade floats for Valentine's Day today.

Overall good. I stayed for an extra day. Because I didn't communicate about changing rooms in advance, when I came back at noon, they had already moved my room and my things were tidy. I still recommend staying in the big room on the fifth floor. The staff will help carry the luggage when they come in and out. This room on the third floor is a bit small, and the bathroom drains slowly.

1. This hotel has very poor soundproofing. The upstairs toilet and shower were loud. 2. This hotel doesn't have any quiet rooms. Even though it's on a small street, the noise of passing motorcycles is still quite loud. 3. The staff don't speak English or Chinese very well, so communication relies entirely on Google Translate. 4. There's no elevator. I heard luggage being taken down from upstairs this morning and then falling down the stairs. 5. The waitress, who must be my daughter, was very well behaved, but the waiter wasn't very nice. He came to my room at 11:00 AM and looked inside. I don't know what he was looking at. I told him I had renewed my reservation today (because it rained yesterday and I didn't have time to go out and look for an apartment). He then took my phone and asked for my reservation number. I found this very strange. The front desk clerk didn't even ask for my reservation number on my first day. When I left, the waiter quickly went upstairs to see if I had damaged anything. I found this ridiculous. You buy all your stuff at secondhand markets, don't you? Are you afraid of damaging anything? 6. There's a gecko in the refrigerator. 7. The tiny room had one floor lamp and three table lamps, making it seem very crowded. The only good thing is that there is a small balcony outside the ancient city. Because the windows cannot be opened, only the balcony door can be opened.
